Depending on their insurance plan, members may have programs built into their coverage, and at times the computer algorithms identify members who might be interested in those programs. Whenever a message is left for you if you call the number left by the representative you will reach them; however you cannot just call the number that shows on your phone due to the way the phone systems are set up. You can also call your member service #, and say "Someone at Aetna has been trying to call me. Can you tell me who it is?" You can also call the member service number into your insurance and request help if you would like help with specific health issues or concerns.

This is a Call From Aetna Insurance. unfotunately, it is a trunk number, so it cannot be called back, you have to retreive the message that was left.
Jay 2014-02-25 20:22:39 Unknown
so you're saying you know *every* benefit on your plan, and all the details of them all?

The frustrating thing is AETNA always calls way before they say they will. I told them to call me after my follow up doctor appointment but they still call back over and over and over... I stopped answering. ...at least until I see the doctor this week.

It's just Aetna. They are calling because either you, or someone who previously had your number may be interested in, or may have already signed up for their wellness program. I am currently enrolled in their wellness program because my hubby and I are expecting a little one soon. They are really wonderful with sharing information for first time moms, and you get free samples too.

Not a scam, it really is Aetna calling about a wellness program, and it's for either you or someone who used to have your number.

Calling and looking for someone? Sounds more like a debt collector falsely claiming to be an insurance co. Slime!

Someone claiming to be from Aetna called me twice looking for a David Gonzalez. There is no David Gonzalez here! Dont bother me again.

This number is from Aetna, more specifically from their wellness coaching department. This is not a telemarketing call.

I saw this number on the caller ID at work when a pt's insurance company called me to give authorization for his treatment, and looked up where the Aetna reviewer was calling from. It's not a scam number.

They have been calling me too. I got two back to back calls just now and I called Aetna @ 866-269-4500 and was told that that is a non-working number. I told her apparently, it's working, 'cause I got called from it. I advised the lady to report it to her superiors, as I have been getting calls everyday for about a week from this number.

Actually I used to work for Aetna (not in insurance anymore) and still have Aetna. Actually they were calling to explain extra programs on the insured's plan (I got such a call). There are case management programs and 24/7 nurse availability, etc. which although benefits actually benefit both the insured and Aetna. Aetna benefits by hopefully avoiding some lowered utilization while providing the same service.

Hey Stephanie, you work for the party making these phone calls? Yeah right, they called YOU to explain your benefits. And I am the Empress of the world.

got a call, tried to call back. the system immediately hangs up on me. If this is AETNA health insurance and if your call is important enough to make, then it should be important enough to answer a return call. Automated phone systems suck in general. They are bad for business and totally inefficient. You waste customer time and cause enough resentment that given a choice I will do no business with a company that uses one. And it is no great treat to speak with "Sally" from Mumbai and try to understand pidgen english when trying to get technical info or report fraud to some incompetent fool who is robotically asking questions read from a computer prompter. Oh well then, it is not your time being wasted, it is only that stupid customer, so it is OK.

Called to explan some benefits I did not know I had on my plan. It is Aetna and they were so wonderful! It was nice to get a call that was not someone trying to sell me something!
N 2011-06-06 20:58:51 Unknown
It is for Aetna benefits department. They want to speak to you about your account and benefits for me have been cut back.
Bo 2008-12-25 17:37:37 Unknown
Have you been in an accident recently? Is this the insurance company of the other party? It was for me and this is one of the tricks the insurance companies employ to serve you.
