I got four calls in rapid succession from this number this morning, August 6, 2008. All four times, it appeared that the person at the other end could not hear me, and they hung up. On the last call, the woman at the other end said, "Mr. Jones?" before hanging up.

This number belongs to Teleperformance USA. I use to work for this company providing DSL technical support for a major telecommunications company. Not all calls from this number will be telemarketing calls. If you've called for technical support, you may want to answer this call.

Within a span 3 to 5 minutes apart I received phone calls registering on my caller ID as " UTAH 1-801-257-5800." Knowing full well what tactics and schemes most corporations use I chose not to answer the call as some of these numbers will add a service fee to your phone bill just for answering the call. Instead I chose to google the number (I suggest anyone with internet access does this with unusual numbers before answering or calling back, especially if no messageis left and you had the number previously put on a DNC list) and found that it is a tele-marketing comapny.

Be wary, not paranoid, of who calls you. Know what's what before you pick up a call from an unknown number.

It took me months to figure out how to stop it.

This is Teleperformance.  They send faxes to your home and when you reply to have them stopped, they send a fax froma different call center.  I have been trying to get them to stop for 6 months with no luck

Called wanting to set up a technician visit as my DSL is not working, I told him it was working, and caller in broken english, replied "OH? I must double check" and hung up.

This is a call center in SLC also

This is a Verizon DSL telephone number linked to customer service in the Philippines

said (in broken english) just verifing this is your number?? and hung up..
