After several days of rejecting the call on my cellphone I finally answered the call.  She asked for my wife that died 5 years ago and wouldn't tell me why she wanted to speak to her.  Then I asked her what color panties she was wearing and she hung up on me.  Oh, I was so offended. NOT!

I do pick up and then hang up.  Since it an 801 area code, they will be charged each time I do this, unlike a toll free #.

They call my work phone which is bizarre. I do have a Bank of America account but I never gave them my work phone.

Actually the loophole in the Do Not Call service is that companies you already do business with can call you.  So if you have a BoA credit card, or other banking service, they're not in violation, just annoying.

Thanks, Steve, for the advice. It's exactly right. There's no way to get rid of telephone solicitors in so many cases. I feel victorious by simply NOT answering the phone. HAHAHA! If I don't answer, they can't sell!

Somebody in the comments string has a political axe to grind that has nothing to do with reality. I don't like a person who pisses on my leg and then tells me that it's raining.

This caller is Bank America trying to sell a useless service. The do not call list is worthless. Reporting callers is useless. Making threats is useless.

The best way to handle these callers is to look at your caller ID and then simply not pick up the phone. A computer at the phone room keeps track of the unanswered calls and deletes your number after so many attempts.

Just let them fall off the edge. If you answer, you are screwed! Because they will call you for an eternity and also sell your number to five other calling scam operations.

These guys called at 8:30 am on a SUNDAY!  They never stop

I received numerous calls from this number and at first I just didn't answer the phone. Finally answered, and learned that it's someone from Bank of America trying to sell me a credit monitoring service called Privacy Assist Premier for $12.99 a month. To learn more, google the terms "Privacy Assist scam." Lots of unhappy people.

Call several times a day regardless of "Do Not Call" status.

I receive a call from this person asking for someone, they resfuse to say who they are, why they are calling but persist. I put them on call blocking and they still get through! What's the deal here? They are breaking the rules, PROSECUTE THEM! I have a PRIVATE number for a reason, have my number on the do not call list!

Got call from 801-297-7808 three times.  First time nobody was on the other end.  Second time i did not answer and they did not leave msg. The third time I answered and it was BofA trying to sell me some credit protection service.  

They explained the silence on the first call as a computer glitch because the calls are dialed by a computer.

It is some company called TELEPERFORMANCE out of Utah. I am on the useless Do Not Call list....it matters not to these folks!

The person called,said he want to talk to my husband - he was a Rep. with Bank of America ! When I asked "What this about ?" He hung up !

Any company that doesn't display it's name on the caller ID or doesn't leave a message  when they reach your answering machine is not on the up and up. If I want to purchase something, I will call YOU. They are probably debt collectors trying to collect on debts where the SOL has run out on them and their only hope is to harrass somebody....anybody into sending them some money.

Recently these people have started calling our house. It's getting annoying. Call twice a day after 5 and again after 7 pm. Never answered the phone yet and we're on the DNC list. If it is Bank of America, well my family has no accounts with them or any of their cards or services so they shouldn't be calling us in the first place. And if a lot of people here are posting 3-4 different "companies" that are listed under this number, my instincts tell me more and more that they're scammers trying to steal your info. I would start keeping a close eye on your bank statements/credit card statements.

They call at least 2 or 3 times a day here in California.  I never answer.  I'm tired of doing that.  I did for a while answer the call and hold a recorder up to the phone with the, "You have reached a number no longer in service" message on it.  That doesn't seem to stop them either.

Is there no way to block these calls?  It seems funny to me that I can block email addresses from getting into my email address but can't block the calls I wish to choose.

We had 2 calls Sunday, 2 calls Monday, and 1 call Tuesday, let ring as did not recognize the number or know anyone in Salt Lake Ctiy, UT.  Expecting another withing the hour, still will not answer the phone.

Has called 3-4 times a day for two weeks. Answered once and asked for me and I hung up. When I pick up the phone no one is there until I say hello. Has to be a scam or telemarketer. Quit calling!

I hate it when I'm right... this number is just like clockwork.

This unknown number has already called three times today, and they are calling on a two-and-a-half hour interval. Which means I'll be expecting another annoying phone call just after 6PM local time. Great.

I just got a call from this number.  I never pick up when I don't know the numbers.  From the above postings, I am glad I don't.  It will be interesting to see if they keep calling back like all the other idiots I don't pick up on.
