Did you recently inquire about any appliances from ads on KSL? Or anything? I'm pretty sure it's coming from someone who posts ads on KSL, and when you call or text to inquire, they take your phone number. They also scam people on faulty appliances. I'd like to catch them.

Yeah I just got this text about owning a camera and making money, so I text them "Who are you?" a short time later I received an answer,"visit http://MyCameraBiz.com for more information".  So I did and then I text them back, "Aah! I think I've looked at this before and it's some scam thing?", They haven't answered back! I should really pile some mess on them, too bad it isn't true I'd like to have a job taking pics. Why are there so many pukes in this world? Good Grief!

I got that same text just a few minutes ago. I thought it was because of the ads I have on KSL since people like to take down your info and try and sell you their items that way. I reported it to KSL but now I don't think that will matter since it don't seem to be coming from that source at least I don't think...

<my name> do you own a camera? We buy amateur pics; landscaping, architecture, misc etc. Http:// Mycamerabiz.com - we have people making $200+ daily - no experience

Yeah, I got a text and I think who the hell are you that you have my name and number. I don't suppose it would do me any good to text them back asking that they "NEVER TEXT/CALL ME AGAIN or I'll report you as fraud."

Marsha emailed me in the middle of the night. This time she didn't use a last name (which isn't professional). Regardless, I thought it was odd and unusual, so I googled it and this thread came up.

Thanks everyone for posting information.

As a lot of us are out of jobs, these kinds of emails are very disturbing.

I won't be filling out any form.

Thanks.

I got this email last night. Apparently they've gotten smart about the last name thing, so my email was just from Marsha with no last name. That along with the fact I received it on a Saturday night threw up a red flag. I had no intention of answering, but was curious what sort of scam it was, and when I googled it, I found this site.

No, "she"'s still using the same-last-name tactic, which is extremely bizarre. Mine isn't that common, either. Said I'd sent her my resume back in January but she didn't have anything then, she does now. Really getting sick of these attempted scams. I took my phone number off of every career site and my resume due to scam calls/texts ages ago.

Obviously this scam has been going on for a while.  Marsha used my last name, which is a very unusual name, and listed a phone number from North East Ohio.  I tried Googling their e-mail name... no results.  There are probably a number of "Marsha"s out there, none of whom have an actual last name so they must adopt the name of the people they are attempting to reach.  It would be nice if someone in law enforcement could come up with a way to eliminate these things.

I received an e-mail with " are you there Christina" without the A being capitol and lack of question mark, I immediately frowned upon the e-mail. She "Marsha" proceeded to tell me that she received my resume and to schedule an interview. Her e-mail name had no last name but her signature, had my VERY rare last name, only 20 people in the US have it! So I replied that she should check her spelling/grammar and she responded that she was busy in a "conference call" to go to the website for more info! I was laughing at this point; obvious scam!

'nuff said. I mean really. Do these people actually catch someone with this? Using your last name is the biggest red flag here.

I also received the e-mail.  Went to the site and used my "spam" only e-mail (the one I use when I need to sign up for things that will result in e-mails) and haven't received a reply back.  What's sad is people will always prey on desperation.  I also got contacted by Chandler Hill Partners which is also a scam to bilk money off you.  I just want a decent job with benefits.  Is that too much to ask for? I'm beginning to think Socialism may be a better option...

Marsha is still at it. I got an email like that, using my last name as her last name and my most recent title for the title of this supposed position she wanted to interview me for. So glad I checked into this before responding.

I just received an email this morning, that this "Linda" tried calling me a few days ago. Her last name was the same as mine....as others have listed here on this post. My last name is EXTREMELY rare, and I assume that it is a tracking code for these people, if you respond via email. Maybe they get paid commission per response.???
Ridiculous!

I have also received this message - to set up a phone or personal interview - person named Tina using my last name - also an uncommon name.  It's hard enough to find work without having to filter out this kind of nonsense!  I had updated my resume on Monster.com and they immediately jumped on it.  I've also gotten another email from someone named John - I just sent this one to the spam box.
Annoying!
