This is annoying is there anyway to stop them?????

I got a call from Zentel, a company which solicits donations (telemarketeers) for the Professional Firefighters of Utah.  I wish there was a way to get the word out that when you donate in response to their phone call only 6% of the donation goes back to this charity.  That's a business to me and not a charity.  It should be illegal to call an organization a charity unless at least 75% of the money goes to the charity.  The Utah State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police is even worse.  0% goes back to the charity.  How is that possible?  Always check out any supposed charity with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection.  Then you know what percent really goes to charity.  Don't assume just because they say, "police" or "firefighters" that you should give your money to them.  Find a more direct way to give if you want to donate.

They are very aggressive and can be quite rude on the phone and use tactics that fraudulent Telemarketers use, making me wonder about their true intentions. Several times, I have told them "no thank you" to which they responded "don't you care about the firefighters?". What should I say to that? Those are not the tactics used by a legitimate place raising money for a good cause. I used to work for a telemarketing firm and I can tell who is a rat real fast. This last time, I asked the caller to remove my name from their calling list and the caller hung up the phone on me while saying 4 letter words!

Yes, they call us all the time. For years now. Everytime we do actually answer we tell them "no thanks" as well as "take us off your list". A few years back we did actually agree to donate to the cause and in the middle of a remodel job on our home lost the "payment ticket" they sent for us to make our "donation" a few months later we recieved a collection notice for the "donation" that also included interest on said "donation". that made us a bit upset so we no longer wanted to make the donation, then they proceeded to call and send letters with more interest and such. Sounds like some sort of fraud or harrasment to me..........Shouldnt we be able to say no thanks and no longer get the calls. They are very rude when you do speak with them......What can you do..........

I've had this one ring several times to my home phone.  I haven't answered, and no message is ever left.

Got a new cell phone with a new number of Valentine's and already getting these strange calls. I Don't pick up. Just silence the ring tone.
