I have been getting calls from this number for several weeks now, I have never answered because they always call when I am busy. Never leave a message and I have never gotten any bills in the mail. Should I answer their call the next time or is it probably a scam?

I've gotten numerous amount of calls from these people which makes no sense. It's freaking me out because they won't stop and just keep calling and I'm not sure whether it's real or fake.

someone calls and hangs up at least 3-4 times a week. The physical toil is getting me. I'm in a hospital bed several hours a day.

We are military and have Tri Care Insurance. They told me that the medical bill had been denied by my insurance and that I had to have TriCare call them to settle the debt. I informed them that was not how tricare worked. THEY needed to send the debt BACK to the hospital, code it properly and the hospital would get paid. Otherwise I would be contacting TriCare to let their legal team have at them. I have never got any notification from the Hospital stating that a claim was denied or asking to confirm my insurance. TriCare has no record of the claim this company is speaking of or it being denied. I will be contacting the physicians billing and coding department through the Hospital next. The lady at TriCare warned me that sometimes hospitals do this to try and get money out of members. TriCare never pays the full amount, it's a set amount and the providers have to write off the rest of what they charge. So, doing it this way (sending the bill to collections) can get them more money because you are scared, or not educated on the process. It's very simple. They will be dealing with a TriCare fraud charge if they don't get the bill back to the coders and sent off with the proper information. So, to fellow military people. If this company is contacting you, file a complaint with TriCare, document everything and work with the representative in your state who can help you.

Got a call from this number. No message. However, other people are saying that this is the same debt collection company that I've received calls from in the past. They are always looking for this guy named "Kevin" that I have no association with. They have been notified multiple times not to call me anymore.

This is to Portfolio Asset Recovery Services or so they say. Not my name they called for but very aggressive, would not identify who they were nor give their address---a must since if you write to them they have to stop calling.... Would NOT IDENTIFY THE COMPANY. 4 PHONE CALLS. THEY WOULD NOT  SAY WHO THEY WERE. COULDN'T EVEN GET TO THE POINT OF SAYING NOT MY NUMBER , I JUST GOT THIS PHONE. THEY KEPT HANGING UP, REFUSING TO IDENTIFY THEIR COMPANY UNTIL I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES...

I want these people to quite calling my home looking for someone who doesn't even live there or I know!.  These company buys bad debts that have been written off and tries to recover money......

This 801-364-0778 number keeps calling me. I don't answer the phone unless I know who it is. When they didn't leave a message, I called back. I spoke with a very rude rep named Monica who asked me to verify an address that was my mom's address, who lives in ALASKA... I asked what company she was with, and she told me that I needed to verify information about myself; such as, name, address, birthdate and SSN before anything this was pertaining to was released. I told her I didn't feel comfortable releasing information about myself, especially things like that to someone who couldn't, or wouldn't, tell me what company she was with. She then yelled at me and told me to call back when I had the time to verify my information and not be rude. Before I could ask to speak with a supervisor about this, she hung up on me after telling me thank you. While I was waiting for my call to be answered, the hold music kept telling me that your call could be recorded for quality and training.
I decided to call at an odd time (3am), to see if people worked there 24/7, or normal business hours. The recording said, "you have reached NAR, all of our agents are busy or you have reached us after business hours, please leave your name, account or reference number and phone number and someone will call you back."
Of course I didn't leave a message. So, I'm going to call during normal business hours and request a supervisor immediately and ask for the name of the business, employee number, direct phone number, etc. I will verify general information about myself, but I'm not going to verify my mother's address, or SSN until I know exactly who/what I'm dealing with. And probably not even then.
I hope that helps anyone else going through the harassment that is going along with this specific phone number.

received call from woman stating my name and full physical address, who said it was a personal matter. i had to ask several times to get a company name and all she gave me was NRA.
looked up online they are not the national rifle association, just a junk debt collector
when i called back to request that they send me something proving i owe whatever debt they have on file for me. i told the representative to stop calling and send me written proof of the debt to the address they OBVIOUSLY have on file and she hung up on me

I answered this call and a computer generated voice asks: if the person is available, press1; if they are home but cannot come to the phone, press 2; if they are not home, press 3. When I pressed 3, it says to disregard call. If this company wants to talk to someone, they need to be more clear of who they are. In this world of scams and identity theft, it is scary to deal with any unsolicited call.

I answered the phone it was a recorded message. Then they asked if it was alright to record our conversation if not I should hang up. So I hung up - I didn't know who and the hell they were.

This number calls me 4-5 times a day! So ANNOYING! Glad to hear Im not the only one.

yes, they call each day so i installed a silent ringtone on my iphone, set up a SPAM contact, then when they call, i'm no longer annoyed... problem solved.

This is a company called NAR. I spoke with someone, told them the person they were calling is not at my number. They said they would remove my number, but I still get calls from them daily. Thank god for call blocker. THey just go straight to my voicemail now.

This number has been repeatedly calling my parent's home number and my neighbor's in order to get a hold of me. I don't even live in the same state as them! And I'm almost 99 percent positive I don't owe any money to anyone.

This caller has left bogus messages, and doesn't answer. Like the others say it's a pre-recorded message.  Don't know who they are or whom they are reprenstative. Anyone I know, I have spoken with and they are aware of the circumstances.

I have gotten like 10 calls from this number in the last probably 4 days. When I answer, they hang up or sit there saying nothing! It's so ANNOYING!

Got a Voicemail from this number that stated they were a debt collected...Dontd owe anyone that I know of, prerecorded computer message.

Who the F**K is this number.  In the past month I have probably received 30 calls, many on the same day too.  Every time they call I'm busy and can't answer, then when I call back no one ever answers.  I've left 2 messages and whoever it is keeps calling my number for someone else and leaving messages saying that the person they're calling for is in debt and should call back. I don't want to block the number because I want to answer and cuss out whoever is on the other end, that's how far they've gone.

I got an automated call while I was at work and was able to answer. It was an automated system about being a medical debt collection agency. i owe about 118 to a doctor from january, but they are asking for 134, so I'm not sure if that's just interest or if they made something up just happened to find someone with medical debt. Now I dont' know if i should pay them!

THIS NUMBER GOES TO AN AUTOMATIC DIALING SYSTEM,  CALL 801-741-8974 AND SOMEONE WILL ANSWER AND EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON FOR YOU.

These people are now coming to my home! I had a post-it note on my door this evening with this number and a message on my answering machine from a man named Brett Hawkins! He said it was to collect a debt and left a number to call him back on (801) 236-7589...did a search for this number and also came up with the same disturbing stories.

Same long message on answering machine asking for me by a name similar to mine.  When I called Steve baCK, HE ANSWERED. He insisted on my tel phone number then my whole phone went numb and would not work anymore.  It is dead.  Did he put a charge or pulse through it????
HE SAID IT WAS A personal matter but would not speak to me.  WEIRD...

Got a call from 801-236-7589 asking about a neighbor. When I asked him questions back about who he was and why he was calling he said we was from NAR and wouldn't tell me anymore. He expects me to answer his questions when he won't answer mine? Sucky job in my opinion.

Got the same call on my mobile...WTF?! How does that even happen! Ugh, is there anything i can do to block these stupid people?! Whats the point of making the D@#* call?! They suck!

I got a call from them today asking about a neighbor (that I don't even know), and he said it was regarding a business matter--- saying that he got MY number from Google as the neighbor.
It totally creeped me out, so I call the local PD to ask about it and they confirmed (after some research) that NAR is exactly what has been listed in this thread.
The number listed on my phone was 801-236-7599.

I get calls from what people here seem to think is NAR debt collections on my cell phone looking for someone else.  My plan charges a dollar a day when I get a call and 10 cents a minute.  I do not use that cell phone but for emergencies.  These calls run down my minutes.  I attempted to write to stop them but my letters have been returned as in not forwarded somewhere.  I was able to tell their machine just now to stop calling me but who knows.  Will they begin to write?  The harassment so far has been hours of my life as well as interfering with sleep (I am daysleeper) and I have paid about $30.00 of my own money so far trying to get rid of them.
