How supid to not relize the Republicans big business has not ruined this country and run it in the ground. Will not give the working man  enough money to live on but support big corporations. Shame on anyone who doesn't do something about this.

Nobody on the other line -- even after repeated "Hello, Hello, Hello?"  Then I went in with the angry "Why do you call me if you're not going to even say anything?!?!"  LOL   Seriously -- what's the point?  To see if they have a valid phone number?  And if they do, then why don't they "do their thing"?  

I thought that I'd (for SURE!) signed up with donotcall.gov a number of times!  For whatever reason, it didn't "go through".  I KNOW that I did it just a few months ago -- something on TV said there was some sort of deadline.  Not sure there is.  Went to check to verify if our home number was on the list, and it WASN'T!!!  No wonder I was getting all these calls!  Definitely pays to check the website and verify your number folks.

By the way .. threatening phone calls is a serious offense as I am sure you know as stated here:

This statute makes it a federal crime, punishable by up to two years in prison, to use a telephone or other telecommunications device to annoy, abuse, harass or threaten another person at another number.

Yet the government allows these bumbs to keep doing it!

You SHOULD be able to get the number they called you from! You should be able to get your local telephone company to do their job and trace it back and give you the information. I would also recommend that you call your local telephone company and remind them that IF they do not find out exactly whom it was that called your home and left that threatening message on your machine, that you will call CNN and your local television stations to get them to investigate why your local telephone comapny cannot find who it was that called you!  It has worked for me.

These phone calls are a harassment to all of us! Who gives these people the right to call a number that is paid for out of our hard earned dollars? That is MY number and no one should have the right to call it to solicit or threaten! Period! Get that number traced and sue that company! Or , if they do find out exactly whre the number came from , at the very least inform your local newspaper and all local TV news stations and CNN of your threatening phone call from that company so maybe they will fire the low-life that called you and it will certainly hurt their business!

If people still look at our government as Republican and Democrat then your just a drone game player thinking these people are truly going to solve our problems. Not actually true on who puts our politicians in office.  Maybe you missed this part in that old college course you make reference to but the electorate makes the decision on who ends up in office, especially with the President.  The electorate is a base of people that represent each district and State based on the will of the people.  According to the Constitution the electorate is voted upon by those same people.  Hmm...last time I checked here in my neck of the woods (and everywhere else for that matter) I do not recall ever seeing a single record of an electorate voting process.  So, if we are supposed to be represented by these people and their decision is supposed to be that of our wants, who are they?  Oh, that's right, I found it, the members of the electorate are appointed by the dominant business entities within each State.  That isn't what the Constitution says should be happening.  

So, first go back to college and pay attention in class this time.  Second, if you want to truly change the course of your government, get on board with having the electorate college concept of elections done away with as it clearly violates YOUR Constitutional rights and the Constitution itself.  In fact, take some time and read the damn thing, learn from it and then research the other issues such as the electoral college, the Social Security Administration, etc. and then maybe you will see how much you DON'T know.

The Republicans are the not the party responsible for allowing the rich to get richer nor are they responsible for the dismantling of government as you put it.  The sad truth is that the Democratic party has always been the culprit behind such actions as they have always wanted to seize total control over the nation and hold it hostage to their will.  I can say this as I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican (they have their own issues as well but the holding of the nation hostage is not one of them).  Having worked within the government you learn the true workings of who does what and why and the information would scare you if you knew what your precious Democratic party truly thought of you and your fellow Americans.

This person repeatedly calls me telling me I have won money....I mean really??  How full of crap you think I am?

I received a call around 9:30pm from this number and when I answered the caller hung up. I do not know anyone from this area code and thought it strange for the call this time of night. I am really get fed up with not being able to control who has my phone number!

I received an unwanted call from 801-385-4873 on my home answering machine around 4:00 PM CT. The caller left a threatening message. He stated, "This is your death warrant and I will be there tonight between 11:30 - 12:00. You do not want to "f**k' with me again, Mr. ******." I listened to the message multiple times in order to transcribe the message precisely before calling the police. It appears the caller may have been calling from a call center environment, as I heard multiple voices in the background. The caller also muffled his voice in a very low tone. I immediately called the police and reported the threatening call. The police traced the call back to the Salt Lake City, UT area. In addition, I reported the incident to the www.donotcall.gov complaint service. I am not only frightened, but also angry, as I found other victims have reported unwanted call from this number on several Reverse Phone Number Look Up websites. The phone number may be associated to Dish Network of Direct TV. It disturbs me to know that the owners of these call centers are not monitoring the calls for malicious acts of terrorism. If I could trace the call and confirm the origination, I would prosecute! I ask that we all report similar incidents and put a stop to it sooner, rather than later!

The American people who vote. Republicans, democrats, independents etc...
Laws only go into effect when a majority vote is reached and both house
and senate is decidedly divided these days. If you actually looked at who voted for or
supported what you'd find a list including both democrats and republicans.
It is a broken government system that is the problem. Did you realize that
senators, congress people receive their full salary for life, even
when they retire or quit and that they are not subject to the same laws
in many areas, especially healthcare (which was decidedly supported by
democrats according to record) as the rest of us? Neither side is free from
criticism. But when they don't abide by same laws as we do I see a broken
government that is out of control. Only active, informed, Americans can help
put this country back on track. Not those that go and vote a party ticket. One
has to inform oneself of each individual political figures views, voting record etc
BEFORE they vote. All too much we find ourselves voting against someone
rather than for someone. So don't go blaming political parties, start looking
at yourself first and become an intelligent, informed American and voter.

Speaking of hope and change, I was looking for a change and hoping to move out of my current house to a newer one, where I might actually take my current Dish Network with me. But alas, the equity in my home of 11 years has continued dwindling to barely anything, so no hope or change for me.

You'd think Dish Network would know I'm a current client under my current number, and NOT cold call me for new service.

DIDN'T ANSWER

Called today after ANOTHER SPAM/SCAM Call earlier this morning from 701-625-5002.  The first call had a man SWEAR on the loudspeaker of the answering machine before it started recording; probably because it was the machine and not a real person answering.  I stood by and listened!

Then this call, which said "Utah" on the Caller ID.  I decided not to let the ans machine pick up and validate for their robodialer/computer that it was a valid number; so I just picked up and put it down quickly and quietly to break the call.  Then I registered yet another complaint with the FCC.

Well see if it that takes us off the list since dealing with the grotesque Alien Invaders doesn't seem to work.

BTW, where's the category of "SCAMMER/FRAUDSTER" in the "Call Type" line, WhoCallsMe?

I'm on the do not call list also. Little is ever done! It was from Dish Network who would just happen to be in my neighborhood soon and could they, blah blah blah. I told the gal that if I wanted their product, I would call them. She apologized and hung up.

I was hoping to change jobs, then realized I don't have one. So in some peoples minds, hope & change worked. Right?

It is Dish Network, using a dialer, looking for people dumb enough to buy their product.

If everyone reports them this might stop!!

I to have registered our number with donotcall.gov site, and still received these calls. VERY ANOYING. I am now going to go back to the donotcall.gov site and report this.

So.. you get a cold-call and it's the republican's fault? Fun little world you live in.

After some more research, I now strongly suspect this is a SPOOFED number.  "801" is the CURRENT area code for the Salt Lake City, Utah area.  They are currently in the process of ADDING a "385" area code 'overlaying' part of the 801 covered area.  SO this is an amalgamation of the two, and therefore probably NOT VALID.  Haven't tried to call it back, BUT I suspect I would get the fast busy signal or other code indicating that the call cannot go through.

BTW, if another call victim is correct, the call from DIRECT TV/SATTILLITE TV is ILLEGAL to ANYONE ON THE DoNotCallList, as am I.  THEREFORE, there is NO EXCUSE for these calls.  And our Government is doing NOTHING because the REPUBLICANS have DISMANTLED our Government OF the People, For the People, By the People and now its only By the Rich, For the Rich and Against the ("Little") People.  This is just the beginning of the end..........

Is this a NEW number with the same old SCAM?  This is my SECOND call today (I get 4-7 per week) but a new number.  Other "Utah" number is 801-520-1980.  I suspect these are connected.

I have great credit, pay all my bills on time and in full and have no issues with creditors.  SO, this either has to be ILLEGAL TELEMARKETING (because we've been registered with the DoNotCallList for over 5 years) OR a total SCAM.

As I ALWAYS do, I will register a complaint at www.donotcall.gov/complaints, BUT this has gotten real "OLD" at this point; this has been going on for at least 3 years with no relief.  WHAT is our government WAITING for?????
