Called me but no one there

Got a call from this number at 1:08 this afternoon.  Left no message.

Called while I was at work, ignored it, then Googled. I also live in VT and that is my cell, and I am also on the Do Not Call list!

Got a call today at 13.40 from this number.  I picked it up, said "hello", didn't hear anything from the other side so I hung up!

8:30am left no message

I had a call from this number as well.  I don't answer from numbers I don't recognize.  Haven't set up my voicemail yet either, so no message.  I have family in Utah and it was a Utah area code, so I debated on answering.  Didn't - then googled it and saw all these responses.  Glad I didn't answer and no one could leave a message.  Do they keep calling repeatedly or is it likely to be a one-time call?

Person called to update my information.  I would not. She claimed to be from Rite-aid.

Received call today.  Short pause then said he was calling me in response to a survey that I took for Walmart.  Said that I was interested in job positions on my survey.  Wanted to know if I was looking for a job.  This person did way more talking then I did.  Finally just hung up.

Received a call from this number on my cell phone sometime this afternoon (I missed the call). Interesting cluster of Vermonters! Rarely use my cell phone, and almost never give out my phone #.

Same here in White River!  Missed call, no voicemail.

Also just got a call.  must be automated, I see a bunch of calls in vermont recently...  I let it go to voice mail and nothing....

got a missed call from this number just now...from what i gather from above seems to be scamming people at random? and it all seems to be very recent...i'm not sure how i would be associated with java OR a job placement agency...may just cough up an extra few bucks a month on my cell phone service to block annoying calls!

Received a call from this number. They said they were a job placement agency and began asking me questions about work eligibility. I told them I wasn't giving out info like that online and hung up.

Call on my cell 1:42 today.  Missed call.

Call just came to my wife's cell phone... silence... she hung up. This happened at approx. 6:15 we were cooking dinner... really freakin' annoying.

That makes sense. I tried to avoid installing Java for the longest time after a fresh format and the day after I was forced to re-install it I got this call.

Just received a call from this number, nobody there....asked twice then I hung up.

Received a call from this number- my number is on the DO NOT CALL list.  My cell number is not listed anywhere- I only use it for business calls.  I think they are just randomly calling numbers-  555-1212  555-1213.  How can they afford to call?  unlimited cells calls? service provider should track them down by noting excessive calls- wasting valuable resources.  It costs us all in the long run since service providers increase rates for all to pay for these users.

Got this call today. Never seen it before. Nowhere near me.

The caller claimed to be calling about an employment survey I'd taken online.  I had taken no such survey nor am I seeking new employment.  Despite being told he had the wrong number, he attempted to give me another survey to "make certain I qualify" for the position.  He never asked my name nor identified who he worked for.

I tested the first few questions to see if I could tell what they were fishing for.  I got:
Are you at least 18 years of age?
Are you a citizen or legal resident of the United States?
Are you or your spouse a member of the armed forces?
What is your date of birth? - At which point I told the man that since I had no idea who he was or who he represented, I was ending the call.

Odd pauses and the way he ignored direct questions make me think this was a voice recognition program rather than an actual person.  Either that, or the person was only allowed to read from a script and needing a lot of time to find a relevant-ish line.

Answered the phone and a male voice said "Hello, my name's Joesph... and the call ended.

Silence for 10sec. Then thank you..... The do not call list appears on the surface to suck

Clearly pulling peoples phone # off their linked in profiles.  It's a job placement service.. Clearly not legit.

I answered, and after a brief pause they started talking about an online survey related to java (I'm a java developer). When I said "what survey?" they said "a survey you filled out online, do you remember?" When I said "what survey?" again, they said they're a recruiting firm. I did not fill out any survey and I'm on do-not-call registry. so I hung up. It's an automated system playing recordings, but it's very cleverly done, and almost fooled me.

Computer, I'm sure.  Should be against the law.

No message left...just an irritating call from an unknown caller.

Recorded call   talked about an online survey.. I did not complete an on line survey  .
I am registered with do not call. What is going on with that?

i picked up the phone and no one said anything.
