It's not telemarketing and being on a national do-not-call list will not affect it.

We get our numbers from people who have recently visited an IHC clinic or hospital, or from people who signed up for a tobacco quitline. We're not trying to "steal your information", all we wanted to know was how you liked the services. If you don't want to do it, just politely say "No thanks, put me on your do-not-call list" and then you will never have to waste 2 minutes of your precious time.

Oh, and if you don't pick up, we can call up to a maximum of 9 times. This is not because we want to bug you, it's only because of how the system of refreshing numbers is like.

Blocked my number and called back.  Got a recording saying their office hours end at 4pm in my time zone.  So why were they calling at 7pm?  Multiple calls, very annoying.

So is being a used car salesman. Same concept tho, all you do is leech off everyone else. I have more respect for the burger flippers.

I got this call and did not answered because the number 1 rule "DO NOT" answer call from #s you don't know. So, I decided to investigate the number and it is an unwated call from a research company - at least that's what looks like.

They are calling me at ALL hours of the day and night. I don't even pick up the phone.

It's called Pegus Research.  They can call up to ten times, and want you to take a survey.  Just tell them to put you on the do not call list and they'll take you right off.  The surveys can range anywhere from any kind of smoking quitline, to health care surveys and some random ones in the Salt Lake City area.

Five calls from this number in the past few days.  I've never answered it.

This number keeps calling....I never answer as I figured it was a telemarketer.....

It's Pegus Research. They are not a bad entity. They are seeking your opinions about your recent experiences with doctors, clinics, physical therapy clinics, to evaluate how well these doctors and clinics are doing, overall and for each individual practitioner.
Your answers help them rate the employees in health care systems.  There is no one who can provide better assessment of their performance than you, the patient.
Most people I know welcome the chance to give their opinion, confidentially, of their care.  Often, complaining to a doctor or clinic is impossible or inefficient, at best.

I've  been getting calls from this number for at least a week, 2 or 3 times a day!  I want to tell them to STOP RINGING MY PHONE!

A while ago I was part of the Ohio Tabacco Quit line and they were following up. Sometimes hospitals use this company for f/u on service rendered to you. Though this is not a bill collector or telemarketer.. they can be very annoying until they have contact with you... so please just take the survey so they will stop calling!!!!

I keep receiving calls from this number. I am on the DNC list and have a private number, annoying.

This number called my cell phone at 1:30 pm today. I redialed and  the message said they were Pegus Research, a health related survey . They said if their number showed up on your called ID they would call back again.
How in the world do we stop these calls>

MAYBE you should all stop giving out your phone numbers. DUH! Are you all really that retarded? How is it that difficult to comprehend? This place only calls you if you give permission to someone else for them to call, and I promise you, you DID. You may not know it but you did.

Me too. I live in MT as well and they just called twice in a row. I think there was a 5 minute break between calls....

I have missed I don't know how many calls from this number and they call at the most inappropriate times of the day. Why do they not get a clue?!

These people call at least once a day, for the past several days. I'm tired of their interruptions during the day (and sometimes night.) These people should be fined if they continue to call after they're told not to. I haven't answered one of their calls yet, but I will soon, and I will tell them to STOP calling!!!

I got a call from them also. You have to say "put me on your do not call list" or the interviewer is not allowed to remove your number. They can get in trouble with their bosses...

We are registered in the "do not call" registry, yet over the past few days we have received numerous calls from this number.  When the phone is answered the caller hangs up.  Needless to say, we would like to stop these annoying, purposeless calls.

I agree with pp who said to tell them to put you on their do not call list.  It does work.  I'm just annoyed that the times I've answered to tell them this, no one is there.

8am, 12pm, 8:40pm.  In one day.  Obviously they don't have kids.  I tried answering and just put the phone on the counter, the calls still come.  When I have actually answered to tell them Do Not Call, no one is there.

A good  place to file a complaint is with the Federal Communications Commission.  The rules they govern are stricter.  I believe it is complaint # 1088

FCC doesn't mess with complaints; and my complaints in the past have always been investigated!!!  

FTC and donotcall, place complaints on a list, and will investigate, file charges if they see a pattern.  So everyone needs to file complaints, so that there will be a definite pattern!.

Anyone have problems with Collection Agencies calling?  There are laws to protect Consumers from these jerks.  #1, they technically do not have any authority.  They usually purchase charged off bills, from other creditors for pennies on the dollar.  #2, because the bill is with an original creditor, you are NOT obligated to these jerks.  They will try to convince you that you are.  #3 the only way you become obligated to these agencies, is if you make payment arrangements with them; thereby creating a contract/agreement, where none exist, when they first contact you!!!

If you answer the phone,  simply say:"I do not discuss financial matters by phone - send me a statement in writing and I will respond to it."  Then Hang up!!!  Otherwise, they will have you completely shaken!!!  The longer they keep you on the line, the more chance they have, to get money from you including payment arrangements ? or payment agreement/contract!!!  You are NOT legally obligated to talk to them!!!

Collection agencies are ruthless jerks!!!  They will tell you they are the original creditor when they are not - even though it is illegal, for them to do it, per Federal Consumer Protection Laws.  You can legally sue them for $1,000.00 per violation.

When you do get a statement - google "FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT" One or more online Attorney websites will be shown.  These websites will have valuable information, including a Cease & Desist sample letter; or a Cease Communication letter.  Once received, it is a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, to contact you further.

You can also educate yourself by reading Consumer Protection Laws at www.ftc.gov;  a lot of valuable information.  Don?t have time,  download and read later.  You will be glad you did!!!

I am not an Attorney - just an Educated Consumer, in Consumer Protection Laws.  I have spent hours studying these laws and becoming familiar with them.  They have helped us and friends/family as well; and hopefully it will help someone, who reads this.

And for those self-righteous criticizers, who say, just pay your bills on time; things happen to people with Credit Card debt, medical bills etc., often beyond their control such as job loss, divorce, death, illness etc. and you find your self in a bind.  We've been there, we know.  You do not plan to pay late, or not make payments; but if the income quits - there's not a whole lot one can do!  You then are forced to prioritize, Mortgage, Utilities, Car payment then food, if you can!  Other things have to be let go!
