jj: Did you every get this inquiry answered? I just (2/2012) had a similar call from SLC UT to my California phone. No message with the Voice Mail recording.

Wow, seems like I'm the only one to receive this call from ABC-7 News Poll about marketing research and surveys. That's ridiculous!

Received a call on 5/15/09 at 6:45p from this number and the phone only rang about 3 times. No contact was made.

Hmm....... I got a call didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message.

call from a ABC 7 NEWS POLL caller id that a robocall message said it was for some poll and your participation will be on tonight's news channel 7. Thought it looked weird that a 801 area code number from Salt Lake City,UT would be calling doing a poll for a Los Angeles,CA based news station.

Automated call 3/29/2011 1:57 PM announcing some type of survey "...let us know what you think, results will be on ABC 7 Eyewitness news." My answering system missed the beginning of the recorded
announcement.
other: landline, S Salt Lake, UT, Pac-West Telecomm, Inc.
Calls made by automated equipment are illegal in California. My number is unlisted and on the donot call list. Assuming for now that ABC news did commission this survey, and will be complaining to them.

Today the 801-618-2075 called again and the caller ID said it was ABC 7 News Poll. Asked about DWTS and other questions to be answered with the phone keypad. I gave false answers as I didn't think it was ABC News for one minute. How do we stop these scammers from continuing to call me from this number? It does no good to report them to the "do not call" site. This is March, 2011 and they have been calling me since May 2009 as you can see from a previous post.

Are you kidding me? I reported calls in the past and NOTHING was ever done. I received a sympathy call from my local phone company and a generic letter from the FCC.

My wife and I keep receiving this kind of scam call sometimes as much as twice a day. My wife is ill, and when I'm out it is difficult for her to get to the phone. We received a call from 1-801-618-2075 today, and no one answered. I know from prior experience this call is a scam, and I am outraged that we cannot have phone service without being disturbed by such calls. We are the "Do Not Call" registry, and it does no good at all. There is always a way for these scammers to get by the registry. We're in the age of communications, and it has its good sides and bad sides. The bad sides are intolerable, and I believe the Federal Government should have a way to successfully block marketers that are invading the privacy of people, ILL PEOPLE, who request it. It should be considered harrassment, and be classified as a crime. I am considering writing to my congressman about this.

A RoboCall is a call that is anwered by a computer instead of a person when you pick up the receiver... these are illegal except for the government
4. What can I do if I receive a robocall that I think is illegal?
1) Call your local telephone company to file a complaint. You must give them the
name of who called and if possible the telephone number of the robocaller (it
may be provided in the message.)
2) Your telephone company will then tell the business that it is not following the law
and may give it some time to correct the problem.
3) If the business does not correct the use of the robocaller by the time given by the
telephone company, the telephone company can disconnect the phone line.
4) If you are not satisfied with the telephone company?s response to your robocall
complaint, you may contact the CPUC?s Consumer Affairs Branch by filing a
complaint online at http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/PUC/forms/Complaints/ or by
telephone at 1-800-649-7570 or in writing to:
