Have received over 25 calls from this number one at 5.00am when I was on a trip to the west coast. My home area code is Florida. You cannot get anyone at this number other than a voicemail or any information on them? I am on the federal NO CALL LIST which does no good to date. They are calling me every other day from this number. When you answer, they hang up...

Thanks for the information. I just went to the do not call site and registered a complaint. I don't know if it will do any good but at least it was something.

They called as well. No idea who it was. Just decided to look up the number as it said unknown name on the caller id. Stop these unsolicited calls from people we don't want to hear from.

I just took a call from 801-623-4626. I think they said TNS Research?  The man had a bit of an accent, so I'm not sure.  It was supposed to be a Sports Survey but it was so off course and when I asked where the questions were going I didn't get an answer.  Then it turned to banking and other personal info which I refused to give. He also asked for my name, email and zip code which I also did not give.  My impression was that they were some type of scammers.  Watch out for them.

Hello... I am soooo tired by unsoliscited calls inspite the fact that I am on the DONOTCALL LIST... I was resting fine and dandy and RIIIIIING the phone woke me up.  They said it was a survey company for sports... last week they called me about a survey for chase manhattan bank and they were doing a survey for the buses... they called 3 times even on a saturday morning at 8am!!!
What's the whole point of joining this DO NOT CALL LIST IF PEOPLE KEEP DISTURBING YOU!   SOme are even rude... I sometimes let them say whatever they have to say... and then say I am younger than 18, have a good day.
I tried accessing the DO NOT CALL website... no luck, it's having technical difficulties.

Called yesterday and hung up when i answered. Called again today and asked me to participate in a survey. I acted stupid and the person got irritated and hung up on me.

I am a supervisor at this company, Western Wats.  The reason some people get calls from us and nobody's there, is that a bonehead supervisor isn't controlling how many calls are dropped.  On average, only about 4% of our calls we don't get to.  Please don't be rude to the agent, how would you like it if people were rude to you ALL DAY LONG at your job?  The easiest way to get us to stop calling, is to just complete the survey.  Most of them are 2-5 minutes, just give easy and straightforward answers, and it will go even quicker.

They asked for my name. I did not respond and hung up.

Called; left no message.  I am on the do not call list and this number came up as "unknown name".  I do not answer these calls.  I want to be removed from their call list.

My # is listed on the "do not call" list and this # kept appearing on my cell phone 2-3 days in a row @ least 2 calls per day.  I never answered the call - and neither did it leave a message, obviously a telemarketer!

I am on the national do not call list and this number appeared on my caller ID.  I was not familiar with the area code so I googled it and this site appeared; I see that others are having issues with this number.  I do not like to be bothered by these phone calls--which is why I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST!!!

I submitted the following complaint about this number at www.fcc.gov -- not sure if the complaint was accepted or not because there was no acknowledgment that it was:

"I have received a call every day between approximately 06:00 p.m. and 08:45 p.m. starting 11/15/2007 (excluding Sunday, Thanksgiving, and possibly Saturday) for a total of 6 - 7 calls thus far.  Although I did answer or would have answered all calls within 2 - 3 rings; in all cases the phone stopped ringing after 2 rings, or there was dial tone after picking up the phone, or dead silence after picking up the phone.  Western Wats is apparently a company contracting to do surveys/research on behalf of other companies or organizations.  I realize that companies purporting to do legitimate surveys are exempt from the Do Not Call List restrictions; but to repeatedly call a number and then "hang up" or "abandon" the call before giving the called party an opportunity to answer is more accurately described as harassment than conducting a survey, in my opinion."

First off on behalf of all telephone surveyors, I am sorry that y'all had to go through this. I am hoping that what I have to say here can help y'all to understand a few things. In reading these comments I see that there is a lot of people that don't know all there is to know about the national "Do not call list". When that first came in to being the government reconized the important need companies have for telephone surveys so they did not include that type of call in the list. See question 30 in the section " Will All Telemarketing Calls Stop If I Register?" at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm  A market research firm which is what Western Wats is WILL take you number off of their call list if you request they do so, as a courtesy. So when you get a call from them or any other market research firm, just ask them to please take you number off of their list. IF the same place calls you again after you have asked, ask to talk to their supervisor and the person you asked to remove your number from the list but didn't will be fired and you number will be removed.
Second, where do they get your number? They get it from a company that you are recieving a service, product or whatever from. For example, J.D Power and Associates DOES do customer satisfaction survies for utility companies, they hire Western Wats conduct the survies for them, when you get a call from them chances are the utility company you are using are the ones paying for the survey to be done. They are doing a customer satisfaction survey so they can improve their services to you! In some cases they get your number straight from you with no third party. Say you fill out a coupon that you send off to recieve something in the mail, like a rebate, you are giving them your number so they can randomly draw it, give it to a market research firm to ask you how you liked the product that you recieved. There are even sometimes when your doctor will hire a market research firm to find out what their patients think about their services. I myself just recently recieved a call from another Salt Lake market research firm regarding my daughters doctors appointment.
What happens is that a company or what every will hire a top name market research firm like J.D. Power and Associates to do these customer satisfaction survies, in turn J.D. Power turns around and hires a smaller  market research firm like Western Wats to do the actual studies. The reason that I am using J.D. Power for example is because they are one of the biggest and well known market research firms in the world. They do survies for utilies, vehicles and for just about anything! You can see them on tv on auto commercials, utilities (recently they are on the Qwest phone company commercials) and what ever. Now how do I know all this? I work for a market research company and for the guy that said the person that called him for a utility survey and thought it was a scam because the caller seemed "new"? Well all I have to say is that alot of the people that work at those call centers are young teenagers on their first job so they are naturally nervous. I am not a teenager, I am a mother of grown children and soon to be a grandma but there are times when I am starting a new survey that I haven't done before and unsure of the introduction I am nervous and sound it too! Being nervous doesn't mean a scam, most market research firms are on the up and up and just working with the companies you purchase from to make the services and product you use better for YOU!

I believe that this number may be for a 3rd party surveyor.  I just bought a new car and this call is from the JD Power and Associates seeing how my dealership pleased me.  Also the dealership hired a 3rd party to do another survey from a different number.  a lot of the numbers may be just a 3rd party doing a survey for a recent purchase

Note that the Do Not Call Registry does NOT cover this company and repeatedly posting "remove my number" is going to get you no where (how can anyone know your number from a post?)
