Nobody says anything when I answer. When I don't answer, they say it is a "service verification" on my answering machine.

Received call today from this number. Didn't pick up, and it didn't leave a voice message. I had wanted to find out who was calling from this odd location in Utah. Sounds like a telemarketer scam to get a number to use for calls.

It comes up as VAF on the caller ID. They left a recorded message saying it was something about a service and they would call back later but did not leave any company name or number.

Yes, service verification -- this time from Ogden, UT, but before they were calling from Arkansas until I filed a complaint with the FCC and it stopped for awhile -- a month or so, so now I'm still getting calls at least two - three times a day!
