The claim that  "The only reason that we believe that you have an interest is because you responded to one of our offers" is complete nonsense.  I did not fill out such a form (that was confirmed by one of their agents).  When I told them to stop calling me, they didn't stop.  They just kept calling.  I was given a separate number to call 801-642-0246 and a name--Mark Brown--ans was told he would address my concerns.  He doesn't answer his phone nor does he return my calls.  The fact that the script ("the only reason that we believe that you have an interest...) that was put up on line matches exactly the script given to me by their representatives--even after repeatedly telling them I didn't fill this thing out and they confirmed that to be so--suggest it's just a talking point. It is also telling that no where does the Representative of the Career INstitute provide their name or contact info.  Finally, the fact that this is really company but housed under different names suggests that there is a shell game going on and they are trying to hide something.

So I reported this number to the Better Business Buereau and they gave me the company that has been harassing all of us information. so here it is...

My research shows they use several numbers such as 801-642-0240 in Kansas, 805-567-0153 in California and 954-839-6428 all about online education. They are on my nerves real bad.

This was the 6th call today claiming we filled out an online form requesting information about classes.  After I told her that I was on the Do not call list and requested the name of her company because I was going to file a complaint, she hung up on me.

I am the VP of Sales for One on One Marketing, and the calls that you are receiving are from our call floors.  The calls are actually coming from a sister company that we own, called The Career Institute.

First of all, let me apologize for any and all annoyances that are being caused by our call floors.

Second, let me explain why we are calling you.  We provide education leads for several of the top online universities in the country.  We are simply calling you to verify and confirm your interest in taking online college classes.

The only reason that we believe that you have an interest is because you responded to one of our offers that say,
"Earn your entire degree online!  Click 'yes' to speak with a counselor from one of the top online universities in the country.  By selecting 'yes' you will be contacted by a specialist from the Career Institute within the next 24 hours"

We give our "offer" to third-party vendors who try and drive traffic to the offer.  Almost always, these third-party vendors will offer a free incentive to people if they are willing to take a survey and look at a lot of different offers.  Our offer, about online education, would just be one of many different offers.

Like I stated above, before we actually submit your lead to a university, we call you first to verify and confirm your interest, as well as, make sure that you meet the universities' minimum requirements.

Now, we call all of our leads twice a day, up to 12 times.  The first 4 calls are coming from one of our call floor that is hand dialing the leads.  This floor lets each call ring 25 seconds before moving on.  The last 8 calls are made by our other call floor with an automated dialer that lets the phone ring 21 seconds.

If you are not interested and would like the calls to stop before the 12th attempt, then you can do one of the following:

1. Answer your phone and tell us that you are not interested.  
Our call floor reps do not even rebuttal.  We simply say, “Okay great, have a good day.”

2. Call us back and let us know that you are not interested.
My team that takes inbound calls will say, “I will take care of that, have a great day.”
Please note that our reps are trained to pick up and say, “This is _______, how can I help you?”

I have been receiving daily phone calls for the last 13 days.  I finally got a hold of someone last night, who claimed I inquired about some online courses (a lie of course) and they were following up.  I explicitly asked them to remove my number from their database.  They called a half hour later which I didn't answer.  I called my cell phone carrier who said they can't block one number but they got a hold of this "career academy institute" as they were calling themselves.  They claimed someone used my phone number to complete this online course request but get this, the name of the person was "bad boy".  Gee, you think that is a real name?  What a friggin' scam?

I have been getting calls from this number on my cell phone several times a day for several days in a row. I have never been able to answer the call in time. They always appear to have hung up by the time I answer it.

well actually this number helped me futher my education. I am very happy they called me.

Called me once yesterday the 28th and again on the 29th and 30th.  First calls rang only twice and then stopped.  The third time I had the phone in my hand so I answered it.  They wanted Destiny. That's not me.

They called me about 4 times over the past four days. I was able to pick up the call twice, but each time they hung up without a word.

After we used a free tax service (801)642-0240 have been calling at least three times a day and then just immediately hang up. Then a few minutes later I get a call for my boyfriend to start his online education. Yeah right like he would have signed up for that ha!

Man named Max called two days in a row claiming I had requested information about attending classes at a university.  He represents several universities.  Told him I had not requested any information and am not interested.

They keep calling and I have not been around so I called them to see who it was and an answer machine came on telling me that I have asked to further my education but I have not.

Called 3 times so far on my cell phone.  Hangs up after 2 rings and doesn't answer on a call-back.  Shows Kansas on caller ID.

Registered for a Southwestern Air promo, since I am a frequent flyer, screwed up ,have been getting tele calls within 1 hr and have not stopped.

Caller ID says, "ONE ON ONE MARK"   --  Tried to call it back, but it just rang and rang and rang....Guess I'll have to be brave and answer it next time.
