I have been getting a call from this number from UTAH with hang ups on the answering-machine. 2 or 3 times a day. Called back twice while I was on the phone and didn't click over then later a different number 800-956-0076 with UNAVAILABLE in the caller-ID. There is another number, never Googled it, that leaves a female electronic voice that pronounces my surname incorrectly, saying they a debt collector I think associated with Discover Card, but I don't have debt.

Received a call from 801-902-2091 on my cell phone.  Lady left a voicemail requesting that I call an 800 #.  She didn't say whom she was calling for or where she was calling from.  Very strange.  When I called the number back this morning I reached Keisha at Discover.  When asked for my account number, I refused to give it until she could in someway confirm she was legitimately Discover card.  She told me to hang up and call 800-discover.  I haven't used my discover card in close to a year now.  They have no reason to call me.

I've been receiving this call for awhile...since i do'nt recognize it, i never answer it. They never leave voicemails either. I googled it and found this site...I called the actual Discovercard number ( NOT the 801 numb3r ). and asked them about this, and they said they don't make these calls...WTF??!!!

I received a call from 1 801 902-2091 from a lady leaving a call back no.
of 1 800 767-1134  She did not identify who she was, who she was representing.
I did not call back.  Caller ID said Discover Financial.

I received a call from ths number today AT WORK.  The guy on the line said that my account had fallen behind but that we could take care of it over the phone right now with a credit card.  I DON'T HAVE A DISCOVER CARD.

they say they are from discover, but when does a credit card company pick-up the phone within 30sec? I always wait 10-15min when I want a rate reduction!!!

I've been receiving calls from this number on my cell at least half dozen times a day.  Messages are left from either a Diego or Stephanie stating they're from Discover Financial services and that the call is not a solicitation matter and left an 800 number to call back.  After days of receiving these calls and uncomfortable, I called Discover cards and was told by the rep that I am not passed due and shouldn't be receiving such calls in the first place. Anyway this morning, I decided to pick up this incoming number and guess what?  they hang up!!!  Definitely blocking the number and am definitely annoyed by the calls just like everyone else.

Got a call 8 am Sat. Claimed to be Discover card. The woman said my account was past due and I needed to make a payment. I told her it wasn't past due and I would deal with the matter on my own. She then offered to waive my processing fee if I made a payment over the phone right then. I told her there aren't processing fees for making regular payments.. especially those that are NOT over due. She got irritated and said that if I paid online it would take days to process and I really should make my payment now. I told her to get lost and hung up. This has got to be a scam!!

I have been receiving these calls for the last 5 days at all hours of the DAY TIME starting at about 7:30AM EST. Most of the time they just hang up and dont say a word when you answer. The last time they actually asked for my wife and I asked if I could help them. The gentleman hung up immediately right after telling me that they would call back later. I did 2 immediate things: 1- Blocked the hell out the number using Bellsouth CALL BLOCKING and 2-Googled the number. I would understand if they are bill collectors trying to collect on a debt. but the phone calls are just ANOYING and Harassing.

This number calls me on a daily basis almost 4 times a day...I called it back and it said,"Please hold for an important message." Like 4 times is says it.  SO I hangup!  They never leave VM and now that I see fraud seems to be happening, I'm a little hieghtened with my insecurities with this...

Same deal, but a man called from this number. First left a message leaving no name/company, just an 800 number to call back, then called and got through, claiming to be from Discover. Started rattling off generic details of my account to me (without ever verifying who I was or having me answer security questions) and then tried to scare me into giving him my checking account number & routing number. I told him he sounded like a scam and there was no way I would give him that information over the phone. When I questioned him he got very defensive and unprofessional, asking what made him sound like a scam. I asked why he was calling on a Saturday and he got all flustered, and I told him he was acting very unprofessional and there's no way Discover trains their staff so poorly, so whoever he is he better not steal my identity.

Similar to other comments they call looking for me, several calls daily, no message, and do not openly tell you who they are.  My roommate answered and said I was unavailable.  Called revealed himself as "Seth" and then followed up with, "is she okay?" like he was my best buddy.  He said he'd call back in 20 minutes.  He left no message either with my roommate or on machine when the call came again in 30 minutes.  I have a card with them but all this seems fishy.

this company has called my home phone numerous times yesterday and today and left no message. i am on the do not call list

Receiving several calls a day (up to 8 today, alone) with no one talking.  But, calls are coming to my cellphone!!!  Can't waste the minutes.  If you get this, call 800-767-1846 and tell them to remove your number from their list.  They ID'd as Discover Card - but my cellphone # is on the cellphone DONOTCALL list.

I recieved the same call.  Glad I didn't pick it up.  Woman left an 800 number but no name.  Glad I googled the number and saw these responses before trying to call back.

Received a call from this number to a business phone. They asked for Rachel Scott,someone that doesn't work for us. Insisted that I look them up and transfer them to Ms. Scott's extension. I insisted that she didn't work for us and I didn't know how to contact her. I asked what this was regarding and they said it wasn't business related. I told them I couldn't help them and hung up.

No one speak when the phone is picked up and these people are contantly calling up to 9:30PM at night.   I own no discover card nor have I ever.

A lady at this number (not sure if live or recorded voice) leaves a voice mail and gives me an 800 number to call, but doesn't identify the company. I'm not about to waste my time calling a number if they can't identify themselves and their reason for calling. This has happened 2 or 3 days in a row. We have caller ID and do not answer anonymous calls or calls from 800 numbers.

I just got two calls today on my cell phone while I was at work.  I'm a teacher and leave my cell phone in my car so it won't ring during class, so I got them both at the end of the school day.  No message, just the number on my incoming call list.  Came home, typed the number into Google, as I didn't recognize it, and found this forum.  I had never received a call from them before and I sure hope they're not going to constantly bug me now!

get 4 or 5 calls a day, informing me of ways to save with my tax refund, and stimulus checks.  i do own a discover card, but i don't want to use these for this.  it is an automated message, and it says i have to call them back.  it is getting very annoying.

They call constantly, about 15x per day, without leaving a message.  They finally left a message, not identifying who  they were, only leaving a first name and to call back 801-767-1846.  

Sorry, if they can't tell me where they're calling from, I can't call back.

I had a debt to sears dismissed in small claims court, and now they have gotten a hold of my new cell phone number.  I am changing my number.

This number was on my caller ID several times today but it doesn't show a company name. One of the times they left a message and all I could make out was Discover Card and a number to call back. I don't have a discover so I didn't call back. Later the number showed up again on caller ID so I answered and they wanted to speak to someone who shares the same name as my SIL. I told the woman she had the wrong number. She was smart enough to ask "you don't know anyone by that name" to which I admitted I did (however I don't know if it's the person they're looking for or not, could be a coincidence). She asked for another contact number and I told her I would pass on any information she wanted but I wasn't giving out any numbers. She said she couldn't do that and would remove me from their list. I'm not even going to mention it to my SIL. If she does have a Discover then she's probably well aware that she's late and I don't need to embarrass her. If they call back I'll probably be rude.

Whats next.....door to door collections!  I Can't wait for my door bell to ring,and have them break my arms!!!

Yes, Discover calls anyone related by name when a person is deliquent on their payments...they harrass people that are not even responsible for payment, its there way of embarassing the Discover Card holder that is in defaut.
It's wrong, and should be reported however they get away with it thousands of times a day.
In this day and age when a high percentage of people are behind on credit card payments (thanks to gas prices, real estate crisis and a poor job market) you would think they would figure out a better plan of attack, offer a more reasonable payment plan...forgo some of their penalties.....instead they take the "mafia" approach!

i have been getting calls from this number for a few days now, calls totaling around 20 in 2 days. Called ID says it is Discover Financial. Now i know i was a few days late on my payment so this morning after getting 2 calls i paid what i owed online then called Discover. I confirmed with the rep that my account is now up to date. I told her i've been getting alot of annoying calls. She told me this will sometimes happen if the account is delinquent but that she would take me off of the solicitation list.

Well around 3 this afternoon they called again. I wasn't home but there was a message on the machine. It was a guy having a conversation with someone else regarding calling people. I couldn't understand most of it but one thing i did hear was this:
"Making calls is a lot like fishing. If you don't get then the first time throw it back and try again later".
I don't think he realized that he never hung up the phone. Right now I'm just waiting for them to call back so i can let them know what i really think of this harassment. I'll keep u posted.

We got a call at 8:31am, one at 10:10am, one at 6:09pm, another one at 7:37pm and one at 8:59pm, the last one was answered and there was no response. All our numbers are in the National do not call list, is that list a joke? This is getting to be a real pain

I got a call this morning, no message. They called back an hour later and I answered. They didn't identify themselves initially. After getting a bit defensive  they explained they were calling because I missed last month's Discover Card payment. While on the phone I put the number in google and found this site. They appear to be legit, and had my SS# and other info, so I wasn't as bothered at that point. I still hung up and handled the payment through my bank. Something about the way they handled the situation has me questioning the legitimacy of the operation. Maybe I'm overly paranoid, but I hate unprofessional companies that use these services.
