call number back got some one speaking spainish ask them who they were and they said discovery card I told them I dont have one and t quit calling me.  They asked for my phone number because they need it to remove me from there call list i told them that they should have it they had call me several times, most companys that are legal have caller Id so they would have the number that i call them on, so what is up with that.  I would suggect that you file a complaint with the FCC on this number and Company.

I turned the tables on discover card. They called me 4-5 times a day. I started to call them back I called them up fifty times in one hour. I refused to give then info and kept calling back finally a supervisor came on and told me i was harrasing them. They said they are going to call the cops. I told them to quit calling me and i am not paying the bill. If they kept calling me iI would call them a hundred time an hour until they stopped. Guess what it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have not called me in three days. I have done this to 3 credit card companies and they stopped calling me.

they have been calling almost everyday now looking for someone named HOA DO. i have asked a few times to have my number removed from their list and they are filling up my answering machine!
they're continuing to harrass me with these phone calls.

ive recieved about 6-7 calls a day from this # and keep telling them im not that person and they say they will remove the # but an hr later they call again... so annoying

discover card collections, or maybe a different company collecting for discover. they cross reference trying to track down people that owe them, so if u get calls but dont have debt problems, they might be looking for someone you know.

6 calls a day for 3 weeks never left a message

message left from Discover Card stating my payments are deliquent however I do not own a Discover card and it's not showing on my Credit Report. When I try to c/b it rings then hangs up. Also, I tried answering the call & no one says anything it just hangs up. Very suspicious.

This number keeps calling my husband's cell then mine right after. He tried answering once and they immediately asked him for his account number. He said You called Me! and would not give them info. After a couple of attempts to get my husband to give them an account number (which he does not have cause he does not use Discover) they finally hung up. However, they will not stop calling. I have been called 3 times already today stating at 8am. After the first call, we Googled the number, found out it was a scam, and refuse to answer.

(Well, sometimes we like to mess with them. We answer the call and speak in a made up language)

Why do they keep calling? It is harassment!

Hey...... these people calling from INDIA, CHINA and other countries. where hundred of call centers are running for getting money by fraud from USA and UK citizens... ITS ALL SCAM...

How it runs..........(for debt collection)

It starts when people tries to get loan online, they fill all their personal detail on that sites and problem starts from this point. all your information is sold to collection agencies (call centers) at $4 to $6 / Person, whether you got that loan or not.

SO what actually they (Call Centers) do...

1. They have all of your information includes: your name, social security number, address, employment detail, 2 references and a detail of amount.( which you didn't get)

2. For dialing purpose call center gets USA or UK numbers. they calls through various softwares (like: ICALL). And have various phone numbers.

3.They hire college students or some people and prepare them to communicate with you. (training classes for getting a bit of American accent) and gives them fake names (American).

4. They makes a write up for leaving message to threaten you. like:-

"This message is intended for Mr. john (your name).  john the very second you receive this msg i need you or your retained attorney to call me back. the issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. my name is ..........., and i am calling from financial accountability association, my call back no. is 123456789, i am repeating this for you john 123456789, john don't disregard this msg and call me on my number back as soon as possible. if i don't get any call from you or from your attorney........ wish you good luck, bye"

5. If you pick up phones ...they will threaten you by saying... that federal govt or federal legislation  is going to pressing lawsuit against you and your social security number. and try to make you remember that you took a pay day loan and never paid it back... so it is very easy to threaten you by saying that "such company falling lawsuit against you for your unpaid loan".
( you don't know for which loan he/she talking about and try to remember your last 2- 3 loans (which you actually got and never paid)).  At this time you stuck in the situation.

(according to my perception you never know "how many loan you took in last 1 or 2 year"- sorry-- joking)

6. They will tell that you are charged against these allegations:-  1. Theft by deception 2. collateral cheque fraud

7. They will tell u that they have sent various mails to inform you but u never replied and that was the only way to communicate you.

8.They will ask u to write a Apologizing letter that “your intention was not bad and you never wanted to run away with that money & you want to fix that issue by paying ..... amount.”


how to avoid them...

1. By telling that you have an attorney (Both criminal and bankruptcy). give any number by saying "call to my attorney"... they won't call.
2. By telling that u know : Its ALL SCAM .......... they will hung up.
3. By telling that its not my social security number....... they will never call.
4.By asking for the date of loan taken (online)........ they can't help you in this matter (by which u can come to know about scam)

Don't be afraid.........They won't sue........

And I just read if someone is late just one payment now they will start calling constantly the day after you missed payment.  Guess with so many people unemployed defaulting on all loans, credit card companies are desperate.

But listen they are just greedy, they will never be needy.  If you read some of the previous posts here and also posts in other sites they are hounding people to pay debts they have paid three times over.  One person had been charged 32% on 8,000 debt for 6 years for no reason other than paying on time.  Only $1 went to the principal a month the rest was interest.  HORRIBLE  so they paid the debt twice and still had to keep paying.  Sorry that they lost their job, but not sorry they stopped paying those loan sharks.

They've been calling constantly for someone we don't know but apparently has our same last name.
It's rediculous, because other numbers have been calling for the same person too.  No matter how many times we tell them person does not live here they all keep on calling.  

From where did they get our number, we do not have a discover card and never have and neither the other cards calling.

And it has happened three years ago too.  They were looking for someone with the same name as my husband and that was a nightmare.  It turns out the guy they were looking for was 44 and my husband 87 and the guy lived in a different town too.  But those stupid drones in India kept insisting to pay, pay, pay.  No matter what my husband told them they did not understand and didn't want to listen.
Complains to the FTC and my threats to them and calling a lawyer stopped the calls.

Someone from this number called my parent's home this morning.  Not sure why.  
I do have a Discover card, but they have  my number already.  From reading the different post,

keeps calling my cell phone numerous times per day.  Using up my minutes.  Never a message left.

i don't see how this could be 'Discover Card'. when i get calls from them 'DISCOVER' is displayed on my phone. not so with this number

i get calls from this number & one other 3-4 times a day. the other one (FYI) is 701-291-9039. they leave no voicemail; never identify themselves or who they want. they hang up when i answer. one or the other of these numbers (not sure which- it's all a blur) will have a robot answer. something like: 'please hold for  an important call.' After a brief pause they come back & say 'all our operators are busy...'
I usually hang up by then. It does no good to say 'please don't call this number again.'

i have been getting calls from this company 3 times per day I don't have a discover card account nor do I intend to ever get one they ask for a different name of which I don't have any contact for that person isn't this harrassment can't I get them to quit this.

omg i understand what you mean. the same thing happened to me they call to speak to some alias name they so call claim live in my house how can i get to the bottom of this. its absurd.

i been harrassed by this number. it comes up on my caller id as discover card. they call me every day and they always ask for someone name divain whoever this person is. i spoke with one guy and told him that theres no one here by that name and can you remove me from their list he says "well are you sure maybe its your relative or something" i told him i just told you i dont know nobody by that name remove me from the list u guys call me every day he says "well someone calls him from my number i told him there is no way because i live alone with my baby he says well maybe someone had your number i yelled at him and said what dont you understand let me speak to the manager because i am going to report you i have the number he says "well you dont have to get an attitude" he then hangs up the phone on me i call the number back requesting i speak to the manager of the person that called my home immediately this time i am speaking with a female she apoligizes and says "oh are you calling about the number 347.......and so on i said yes she said "oh well from the looks of it that number had been removed" i said are you sure because i just got off the phone with this rude guy and he plainly just hung up on me she said "well i do apoligize but as i see here the number has been deleted" i said i still want to speak to the manager because i was disrespected she says "well i am the manager" i tell her well im sorry but i find that hard to believe all of a sudden i call back and coincidentally i get the manager on the phone she says" yes i am the manager" i said well i fing that hard to believe let me speak to manager over you she gets an attitude as well and says "i said i will get a manager" i wait then she hangs up on me i call back now i am frustrated to the fact i cant get to the bottom of this now i get another female on the phone and i explain to her the about the last situation with the female hanging up on me she says "oh im sorry you got disconnected can i have the nuimber you are calling about? i will have this number deleted" remind you the last time she stated my number has been deleted so she transfered me to the "SO-CALLED" manager named Jesse he states he applogizes blah blah blah and that he see that the number has been deleted im like its deleted or it has not been deleted which is it gonna be he says that it has been deleted i explain to him that this is unperfessional he gets and attitude now and says "well what do you want me to do the number has been deleted we shouldnt still be on the phone right now" i tell him do you see what i am talking about look at your character and your choice of words as well as your tone i said let me speak to the manager over you he said "i am not pushing this call any further" i said i will report you dont worry and hung up i feel harrased and abused verbally and i find my situation not resolved what should i do i have no proof of the people being managewrs and who the are all i have is this number and the company name i am so upset

I am sure it is from a credit company, since I don't have a discover card I can only assume they represent a number of creditors. Frustrating though, they call day and night and have no company identified in my caller id.  So I just don't answer.

I also recently have been getting these annoying phone calls on my cellphone everyday for a week. I will contact my cellphone carrier and have my # changed.

I checked and this is indeed Discover Card.  Apparently a relative of mine is VERY behind on their bill and started calling both me and my sister in an effort to collect.

5 calls in one day from this number.  Message left after the first call was actually no message but a lot of background noise.  this call comes after blocking two numbers of people phising for information.  While I have a discover card typically if I receive a call from them it is a robocall where their system doesn't actually contact me to a human until I say hello.  I call this bogus.

I called them and it is Discover Card.  They had my number mixed up with an old roommate.  They took off my number reference to the account, since I have never had a Discover card...

I get calld from this number I don't know it so do'nt answer it and No voice mail on it

just got a call that said "Please hold for an important message".
that recording looped for 4 times before I hung up.
