That won't work, either. They use autodialers, so they don't need fingers to dial.

These people have ignored 4-5 attempts to get this company to stop calling, as we've done the whole "remove this number" message option several times, and went through their annoying automated message to talk with a live person a couple of times to ask to be removed. The last guy blithely said that several companies use the same message and maybe it was we who weren't noticing that there were several companies calling us. Then jerk just hung up on me when I told him my caller ID has his exact number showing 3 calls today alone.

Am I the only guy getting frustrated enough to want to track these people down and break a few fingers? Is that the only way to actually stop these "people" from calling?

Got my airhorn ready if someone comes on the line. waiting   waiting  waiting  waiting...asshats.

Robo call for "google plus"  and its urgent they speak to the owner as they made several attempts before blah blah blah.  I just hung up.

Call from Google Plus ... they call constantly. We are on DNC list. Pressing ANY keys during these types of calls just invites them to keep calling because they know it is a working number!!!

Grrrrr!

Try suing them.  Even the United States Government can't find them.
The DNC list is useless.

They don't care about the FTC or the FCC or the U.S. Government or the Laws in this country or about you or anyone else.  They are nothing but cheating, bamboozling, lying con artists that know there is no why the United States Government including Obama or anyone else can catch them. They just go to the next number bank and abandon the ones that they called you on and continue with the scam.
Until the phone companies start checking the complaints about these numbers and take away numbers with complaints, the problem will just get worse and worse. The phone companies make way too much money from the telemarketers (98% of which are scammers) to care about doing anything about this national problem. This is also why the FTC has issued a $50,000.00 reward to anyone who can figure out how to catch them. Because the U.S. Government can't figure out how.
Just don't answer the calls from out of your area. This won't at all stop them but at least you can go about your business.

I told them 802-488-3091 was calling me and they confirmed it on their list and took my phone number to add to the do not call list. Scammers, pretending to be Google. Pressing 2 to get "removed from list" makes the calls increase, as they now know someone is there to answer.
Google does not block their number. They will show up on caller ID as "Google". They called when I verified my business listing, that is how I know.

Wow!!! They called and I spoke to someone who said they are contracted by Google, When I asked to be removed from the list he became rood and told me to "F" myself.

"Jennifer" taped message about claiming YOUR Google+ Local Listing. Interminable spiel. Phone number purports to be in Burlington Vermont.

Perhaps a monitored robo caller??? Says "this is Jennifer from Google..... " but if I start going "blah blah blah blah yadda yadda" it will hang up on me midway thru the speech.

This is the usual criminal scam to get your personal information and possibly your money. I am on the do not call list and calling me is a federal criminal offense.

Google uses two methods to verify a listing, but they only use these methods when you have specifically requested it.

Google will call a business number RIGHT AWAY when you are registering your business as an AdWords customer and on Google Maps. If there is a previous business at that address, Google will send out a post card with a verification code for you to verify that you, indeed, are the business owner (this prevents a competitor or prankster from making anyone who is using Google Maps think that your business isn't there any more).

Google will NEVER call you to tele-market and they will NEVER call you unless you know that they will call first. So if someone is claiming to be Google or to speak for Google, they're a scam operator.

If they can do this, we are all vunerable-----BE AWARE-----they piggy backed a local number to get through...I checked- the local number is disconnected but it shows up on the caller ID....their real number comes thru after they hangup!
DO NOT ANSWER to 860-210-0153 or the above number 802-488-3091 ....foreign accented woman asked for my husband and told me it was a gas company, when he asked me to take the call for him she hung up....I've reported them to my AG. Definitely bad people!!!!

I agree. They call every single day and won't take us off the list. It's infuriating!

Called our home number a little after 1. We didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. We are on state and federal do not call lists.

JERKS hung up on my business answering machine.  Just the number on Caller I.D. a likely sign they are hiding the identity of the caller.
