I got this call on my cell phone, and I have to pay for it.  My cell phone number is not known to anyone.

This is just another scam!!!  Block and report the number from your phones!!  There is no free Lunch!!

They call my personal cell everyday at different times. When I answer, there is no one there. When I do not answer there is never a message left either.

Memories of Montpelier to me are distinct in nature in that
it involves the business side of love; I recently pulled out of a contract that had our school on a
business trip to bahamas as a honey moon - generally I am such a loser in love that
I just think people get married everyday....and die too - but I guess it might be rarer than that.
I think the call from Montpelier is more of a "you know who"; lest we forget.....
So the school trip to Bahamas is out too; who else ought to step up to the plate....
oh... did you get that the telephone system IS the ENTIRE STATE of CALIFORNIA....

I used to waste my time by reporting to the FCC and the 'Do Not Call' website until I realized that most of these calls are from shysters with criminal intent and temporary phony numbers, so they usually cannot be traced.  Criminals do not follow the rules.

ABSOLUTELY, You are correct. This is the only way to slow them down - and eventually the calls will be few.  I used to receive as many as 15 calls a day until I stopped responding and started Blocking the ones who called more than twice.  It took some initial tine but now I save more time now by not feeding into their scams (with any response) and getting myself upset.  The 'Do Not Call' list only works with LEGITIMATE TELEMARKETERS.  So the odds are that these callers are shysters.

I never answer calls if I don't recognize the number - too many shysters calling with temporary 'phony' phone numbers.  

A note on Unwanted Calls.  Our world is changing. Sadly - The 'Do Not Call' list only works with Legitimate Telemarketers but unfortunately does not apply to: Surveys, Charities and of course, Criminals don't follow any laws. These Criminals have various kinds of ploys.  Some hide behind Surveys and Charities and of course the two big ones are Phony Debt Collectors and Low Interest offers.The only way to avoid these calls is DO NOT EVER RESPOND because if you do respond you will not only continue to be harassed by the same caller but your number will be sold to other 'Harassers' now that they know you are a live Human Being with a real phone number.  Also the Criminals/Shysters only use a number for a short period and then change it to avoid being caught.  Another sad note is that even

if you do respond to a legitimate Survey or Charity - you will be placed on a 'Sucker List' and your number will be passed To & Fro for all to exploit you, including the criminals.  I also never respond to any political calls anymore, because I don't want to give any politician the knowledge of my concerns just so He/She can LIE TO ME in the future by telling me 'What I want to hear', because - Honest Politicians already 'know' the Needs and Concerns of The People that He/She is representing.  Again, our world has changed and responding to any of these callers only places us at risk for 'Who knows what?" At this time in history I have not discovered a way to 'AVOID' ALL HARASSMENT and so far the only way to avoid ongoing harassment is -Caller ID- and/or a phone that can 'Block' callers who will not stop.  Some of these phones also have a Programming Feature that will BLOCK Calls which do not have a number like 'Out Of Area' or 'Private Caller" and is well worth the Investment.  We can no longer 'Trust' ANYONE "Who we don't know' that is calling us.

DID NOT call this # back nor did I text it. I completely ignored the call. I don't believe it is wise to make contact with these people. If these people are breaking the Do Not Call law in the first place to call a private cell phone # (a # they should not have to begin with), what makes me think they are going to be such good moral citizens to remove my cell phone # from their call list?!! If I call them back to tell them to remove my # from their call list, they will know they have hit an active phone line so they will KEEP calling and harassing me.

I received a beep on my caller ID on home phone yesterday from 502-873-0246, finished my call, hung up, phone rang. I picked up on 4th ring held phone, dial tone. I am on the DO NOT CALL list as well. Just updated few months ago. Think you need to do so every 3 years or something ridiculious. Government sucks as far as I'm concerned. We are all out here on our own with nothing we can do except hopefully vote some of them out of office & get someone in there that is looking out for us. My own phone company told me not to punch buttons. I punched 1 to get removed from calling list & got a foreign speaking person. SCAM big time, when I immediately called my phone carrier. My phone carrier said she had 2 customers to be scammed for several THOUSAND dollars. She put an alert on my number & thank goodness nothing happened. PLEASE DON'T PUNCH ANY NUMBERS. YOU ARE TAKING THE CHANCE OF LETTING THE SCAMMER GRAB YOUR NUMBER & START CALLING ON YOUR NUMBER SINCE YOU PUNCHED IN A NUMBER THAT GAVE THEM ACCESS TO CALL FROM YOUR NUMBER. MY CARRIER THEN SAID THAT IS WHEN THEY ARE CALLING OUT OF THE COUNTRY & YOU GET A LARGE BILL. Calls my cell phone, I have tried calling the number back from my house phone with the number blocked, but no answer.

AM.  I am tired of them.

Call was recorded from John Political Opinions - one question and you can win FREE 2 Day Cruise to Bahamas.  I pressed 9 to permanently remove from List and am filing Do Not Call List complaint.  Company is getting around the Do Not Call rules by having political opinion survey!

I do not know who this is calling, but I do not intend to do anything other than report this and not request to be connected with a live person. I do not want to be involved in the affairs of the person they say they are looking for. They do not reside in this home.

Robo Call. Says they're taking a political survey, and if you answer you get a 2-day Caribbean cruise. Yeah, right. Keep listening and it tells you what number to push so they take you off their list.

I, too, received a call from this number. Since reading of the comments, I called the number.  "Survey has now expired, if you would like to be removed from future surveys, press 1".  Done - thanks everyone for your comments!

Claimed to be a political survey with just a few questions to win a "free" cruise.  Too good to pass up right.  We know better but I went forward anyway to see.  Answere the automated survey (4 questions) and got bounced to the operator to get me free cruise.  If you guessed that the free cruise was $95 per person, you win.  SCAM that uses the ruse of a survey to sell you bogus cruise cretificates.

this call came in on my cell#.  both home and cell phone are on do not call list for what that is worth.  can hardly wait for the political calls to start coming.

Thank goodness for caller ID!!!!  We never answer calls that are unidentified or are from unfamiliar numbers.
