recived a call from 802 109 7187999. didnt answer , then tryed to call back . all i got was a message from my carrier saying the number could not be compleated

I rec two calls today but I make a habit of only answering numbers that are familiar to me.  When I redialed the number it says the number is disconnected. Is this legal??

This extended warranty call is affecting the productivity of the company I work for and clogging up the voicemail server.  This has got to be stopped!

Received a call from 802 763-2141 on June 23, 2008 at 1:06PM in California.  When I called back the number was disconnected.

This guy called my cell, I have no clue how they got my #. Is there any way to stop them?

Got a call from 802-763-2141 on June 23 on my company cell phone when I was on vacation and I didn't answer it and tried calling the number earlier today but it has been disconnected temporarly it said. I just read the info posted here.

This number called me. If it isn't a number I recognize I just don't answer. I submitted the number to google and came to this website.

I've been getting calls about car warranty for about two months. Usually the number was listed as unknown, but today it was 781-273-3656.

If anybody comes here from searching this number on google, you WERE NOT called by the Le Luc household. The number was stolen from them.

There is noting to learn about this person. He or she is a victim, just as you are.

The scammers at VP Marketing and Versadebt are spoofing his or her phone number on their caller ID. I once got over a dozen calls from them in one week. Each one of those calls had a different non-working number from Maine.

You have two solutions to deal with this problem.
1) Speak to a customer service representative. Pretend to be interested in either lowering your credit card interest rate or a car warranty. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY REAL INFORMATION. Give them a fake credit card number, a fake name, and a fake SS#. Tell them you own a Ferrari, or a 1937 Dodge (however, if you really own one of those two, tell them you own a Buick).

Your goal is simple. Keep them on the phone for as long as possible. The time you waste means them have less time to steal from someone who is unknowledgeable about their scams. They get paid to rip people off. Take away their time, and they make no money!

2) Read Jack's comments on the first page, and file a report with the Federal Communications Commission. They will investage. Also, you may also contact your state's Attorney General office. Look for the last link under Jack's post to see the impact your actions can have.

Remember that the autodialers used by VP Marketing and Versadebt call numbers randomly. They have no regard to whether it is a home, business, or cell phone. The Federal or state do-not-call lists DO NOT APPLY TO THEM. WHY? BECAUSE THEY ARE CROOKS. Crooks by their nature do not obey the law. They will not take you off their do-not-call lists because they do not maintain any!

I had my IT guys work overnight to track down J Gallant. Turns out I could have pasted the phone number in google, and it would have told me all about J Gallant.

I hope this forum thing works out.  I have scammers call the house phone it seems like 100 times a day, reported the number and the PHONE company hasn't figured out who and/or what it is.  This is B.S.  They called my cellphone today at 1:50 pm.  Thankfully I wasn't around to answer, it would've just ticked me off even more. Hopefully we can stop these people.

This number called my private cellphone.  I don't even know how these people got my phone number.  I didn't answer it but something told me to check it out.  I'm glad I did.. Thanks everyone for their input.

Yeah i got this phone call a couple times too, one of them being today. Dont bother that Gallant guy he has nothing to do with it. Its obvious that he changed his phone number so people couldnt call back complaining to him when its not his fault. The good news for me is i have a call reject list built into my cell phone and that number has been newly added.

At 5:42 PM I received the same call again from the same people.  Always Your warrenty may be about to expire.  I have told them four times to remove me from their list, so now I turned it over to the State Attorney Generals Office.  Plus mine is a cell phone which is illegal to call for solicitation!

Just got the call. Didn't answer, because I don't know the number. It left a message. No idea what because obviously the thing starts immediately after the phone picks up. You know, during the part where my message is playing. Anyway, has anyone tried actually talking to these people and trying to get info out of them? I'm half tempted to if they call again. Of course, I'll probably just not answer again.

I got a call on my work cell phone.  I got connected to a person and requested to be removed.  she hung up on me!

Just got the same call, no message. But I was curious because I grew up in the small town next to the town of South Royalton.
I'm so glad I "GOOGLED" it because I thought something might have happened to my family back home.

Poor "J Gallant" if he is getting phone calls back...I almost called him myself!!

I received the call today, too!  I tried to call back got an all circuits busy message.  This was the first time I received it on my cell phone (at&t), but I have been getting this call on my home phone (also at&t) atleast 3 times a week for the past month.  I decided to google today and saw everyone's post, so I am now posting to add to the documentation to hopefully catch this scam artist or atleast stop the calls!

I live in Texas and received a call from this number at 10 AM CST this morning and could not pick it up.  I was sure that it was someone who knew me as I lived in that area of VT up until a couple of years ago.  The address is within a 100 yards of Joseph Smith's birthplace and an LDS summer camp. I could not for the life of me figure out why they would be calling me.

I receive calls from this number repeatedly on my work, home, and cell phone numbers.  I have told them to remove me from the call list, but nothing has changed.  Something really needs to be done about this.

I got a call form this number earlier today. Left a recorded message about a car warranty (I don't have any cars under warranty).

Just received this call this morning.  They said the same stuff about it being my second notice about my factory warranty expiring (I never received a first!)  Followed the suggestion made by Jack and filed a complaint with the FCC.  I tried pressing 2 to have my name removed from their file and the call disconnected.  They called me on my cellphone which really bugs me.  This sort of thing is becoming too frequent.

I just received a call form this number and one last night from this number. I did not answer either call.

Around 11:15 they called me for the 3rd time....I live in Clevland,Oh and im 15 so i have no idea why they would be calling me.I also tried calling back but once again it said tat number was TEMPORARILY DISCONNECTED!!!!

I have been receiving phone calls regarding my car warranty frequently for about the last month, I checked my warranty and it is not up for 2 more years so i have just ignored the phone calls, then today i received a phone call the 802.763.2141 regarding my credit card, wanting to lower my interest rate. I pressed one to speak to the operator and asked them what credit card it was regarding, she told me my Bank of America mastercard, I do not have a Bank of America master card, but i decided to play along for a bit, her next question was my account # and the last 4 of my social.... I hung up on the call at that point and called Bank of Americas fraud dept... they told me that they did not know anything about it but that they would investigate the phone #....

I've been getting calls on my cell phone for a few months now about extending a car warranty (on a 17 year old car i never use anymore since i commute by bike and metro now).. usually different numbers, mostly with 989, 918, 702 or 818 area codes, and ALWAYS spoofed so when you try to call back it's disconnected. when looking up the number online, it's a residential number. so now the credit card scheme started with this number today. this is getting extremely old. i am keeping a whistle nearby so the next a**hole that calls using this scheme will hopefully lose an eardrum.

I have made a formal complaint with the FCC!!
