I also received a call from this number saying my loan is approved. Funny thing is I froze my information with the credit companies so it is impossible for me to make an application for a loan without first contacting the credit agency. Not returning their call and will block their number!

Received two messages from 802-855-7147.  Both had messages left, both from a male, although the message indicated that it was Jenny Walker calling.  Both indicating that I had applied for a $5000.00 loan and had been approved.  Asked that I call them back to provide them with more information.  Then they congratulated me on the loan.  I called them back to tell them that I had never applied for a loan.  They told me that I had or they would not have called me to tell me I had been approved.  Then I was hung up on.

There is really no reason to get repeated calls from obnoxious callers.
Simply get a phone number blocking service, app or device.

Same jack a** that called me, you know it was a scam too by the way they handled their calls... yelling and laughing in East Indian language to someone else while I was on the phone calling to see what the hell he wanted.

Prank Call
A male, sounded East Indian, left 4 messages within 2 (two) days, saying, a loan was approved for $5,000.00 and to call and confirm, he had such a heavy accent I couldn't understand him very well.  When I was trying to tell him there was no one here who he was leaving the message for.  He continued to try talk to me, then said 'I love you'  then hung up.

Guy with heavy Indian accent called yesterday stating that he was calling from "Fast Cash Loans" and the loan I had requested had been approved. Of course I had not applied for a loan so I asked "What kind of scam is this?" and told him to take my phone # off their list and never to call again. 24 hours later I get a call again from "Fast Cash Loans", this time from a woman with a heavy Filipino accent telling me that my loan application had been approved. So I decided to play the game. I said that I was interested in the loan, so she connected me with her boss, who sounded exactly like the Indian guy from yesterday. I told him I would check with my husband and call him back and asked for call-back information: his "name" is "Jack Cooper", and his call-back number is 802-855-7141 ext.329. I wish there was a way to catch these snakes.

Yes they contacted me as well and said they were NYSE and I was approved for a loan for $5,000 and it will be deposited in my account when I call back and give them information. That was on the vm from a heavy accented lady sounding like she was from India. When I called back a man answered the phone and said he was from Fast Cash Loan Services. I asked him what was this in reference too and he go loud and screamed do you want the loan or not. I asked him why is he getting rude then he said f@@@ off. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he hung up. I called back and he said it was a mistake and we got the wrong person. Here is the odd part about this situation he called me on my VoIP line. No one has this number. Monday I am calling the government fraud line and tracking my credit report on www.creditkarma.com.

They wont stop calling and asking for my fiance. We have tried everything to get them to stop calling over and over and over. At least 12+ times a day. Seems like my phone is ringing off the hook every ten minutes again from these people. They refuse to give me the name of their company or their personal name and can't understand half of what they say. Driving us bonkers!

"Mike Johnson" from US Cash Loans called to let me know that my loan has been approved. I need to call them back to complete the last part of my loan application so that the funds can be deposited the same day. I didn't apply for a loan. The caller ID said (802) 855-7141 -  Rutland, VT, "Mike" had a very thick Indian accent, pronounced my name as Danny (my name is Diane).

Received a call from 802-855-7141.  Caller id said 'Rutland VT'.  Same story as everyone else...  Caller with very heavy accent who could barely string two English words together.  They are using VOIP tech and spoofing caller id.  Some people complain about the do not call list, but these people aren't even in this country, so they couldn't care less about some list.  Head over to YouTube and search for 'phantom debt ABC'  if you want to see an ABC news story on exactly this sort of scam (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpSeana_zY0). The sad thing is that some people actually are scammed by these people or they wouldn't keep doing it.

Debt Collector
A couple of months ago I recieved a call saying I took a loan out and asked me for my social security. I have only ever taken out a school loan and I and my family have been paying it off without fail. Then just this week I got another call saying I owed almost a thousand dollars in debt and that I was being served if failure to pay. When my mom called them they were very vague and refused to give their "law firm's" name or fax papers concerning the matter. They just straight up hung up on her. I am very upset. I'm 21 years old, still paying off school loans, and to have thse sharks trying to scame me out of my money really pisses me off. If these people call me back I'm informing a higher authority who has the power to take these a***oles down.

this guy named " Zack Wilson" left a message on my phone saying that I was going to be sued in a civil suit and that they had my name and social security number. He had a horrible broken accent so I would guess that he may not even being calling from a real phone number in Vermont  He sounded like he was reading from a real bad script.. Anyways I figured it was a phishing scam because I do not owe anybody any payday loans or anything else. I called my legal counsel and they concurred it was probably a scam and suggested I refer the incident to the state's attorney general's office as mentioned in  someone else's post above. It was on my cell phone and of course I'm on the do not call list but obviously that doesn't seem to matter anymore. These sleazeballs are getting pretty brazen.  I screen all my calls anyways and if I don't recognize the number I don't answer. if by chance i do and they start running their speil I just tell them I did not solicit you and you do not solicit me and they hang up. I just feel sorry for those people like elderly or maybe not as aware people who may fall prey to this garbage. Tell your friends and family to be strong and not fall for this garbage.

They call my house sometimes more than a dozen times a day. It has been going on for a year now! They ask for "Annette Pratt".... Have no idea who that is. They all have heavy Indian accents. They say they need access to my bank information to deposit a student loan that been approved. I'm 66 and already have a Masters. It is not even noon and they have already called 8 times today!!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
