Got a call from this number they requested to speak to my child about his Medicaid benefits .I refused to let them speak to my child and they hung up on me . When I called back they said they represented Texas Health and Human Services which makes no sense since that is a state-run company and this number is from Vermont . Scammers

Is there no way to stop these very annoying phone calls. 6 or 7 times a day. I will not pick up. But the jangling
phone is driving me crazy.

After 5 robo-calls, they finally left a voicemail. Want me to fill out a survey about "recent changes in alcohol & marijuana regulation." Maybe because I live in Washington, which legalized pot recently? *shrug* Not wasting my time with them.

Called me and it says some thing about a survey about young adults. I live 5 hours away from Brattleboro VT.
They have called me multiple time with out leaving a message.

I had the same call regarding "national young adult health survey."  I hung up, they called and left a voicemail, and they call every day.  I do not answer and they no longer leave VM, but it is very irritating!

I've received a few of these now. Never answer but I called back, and it's a marketing company conducting an 18-34 young adult health survey. There's an option to have your number removed. If you complete the survey, they say you'll get a $10 Amazon gift card. Not sure it's worth the hassle, though.

My Android phone lets me "reject" this number. I am also reporting it to the Commerce Department's Do Not Call Registry. Here's the URL: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. It took me 3 minutes.

Not a scam at all. It's a safety study for waterways. They only speak to boaters. It's called the National Recreational Boating Survey.

You are wrong, the website is www.icfi.com as the company is ICF International and NOT ICF Macro.

This number 866-784-7216 is not a scam nor is it any kind of identity fraud or anything of the sort. It is a health study ran for young adults aged 18 - 34. It is ran by the Rutger's School of Public Health, called the National Young Adult Health Survey. They do not ask for any kind of identifying information & you can skip any questions you don't want to answer. Also, they give you a $10 Amazon gift code. It only takes 10 minutes so you get $1 per minute. It's a good deal. Give these guys a break & help them out. They are kind & will treat you with the respect you give them. They are only trying to asess the health of young adults for research purposes, again you can skip any question you don't want ot answer. They are only required to ask you the questions if you decide to do the interview.

The person who called you by the way, did not get fired because they didn't do anything but what their job required them to do.

I worked for the company who called you, it is absolutely legitimate. It is a study for the Coast Guard, just not every person in the coast guard directory knows abouit the study because it is small. Take a chill pill & realize this company is doing something in effort towards the safety on our waterways. Not everyone is a scam. Look up the company who does the interviews, ICF International.  Go to www.icfi.com

Called me on Oct 4th, 8th,  9th, then again on the 19th.. left voicemqils each and every time I finally call to ask them how they got my number, did not answer but when I asked how long does this survey even take me if I were to schedule it, then they said I'm sorry you aren't eligible I said why they say we already called me the maximum amount of times I say how many times is that they say 3 unanswered calls, I say you called me 4 times and left messages. And I said that I had just got a call literally 2 minutes ago and I just spent the time to answer back and call this number, but thanks for wasting my time and telling me how you got my number when its on the do not call registry.

I received a call from this number as well, wanting to conduct a survey for the Dept. of Agriculture.

Whoever this is has called my cell phone several times this week at different times of the day and evening--after 7 tonight.  Guess they aren't getting the idea that no one is going to pick up a call from an unidentified or unfamiliar number.  Did hear of a clever way to deal with this.  Answer in a whisper, "I did it, but there's blood everywhere."  Then hang-up.  Of course, if this really is the Coast Guard calling (and they do perform surveys) you might find the police at your door.  Ha!  Wish these people would stop calling my cell.

Looking at the other responses, I see folks saying this is a survey by the Coast Guard.  I suspected it was a scam, but I did find the following information on the web that suggests the Coast Guard does do these random surveys.  Sigh.  I am still not answering this one.

The US Coast Guard's Boating Safety Division is currently fielding its 2011 National Recreational Boating Survey.  This survey is a key element in collecting data that will support the overall Coast Guard boating safety strategic plan to reduce fatalities, injuries, and property damages. The Survey is being conducting by ICF Macro, NY, NY from various call centers on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard.

This survey targets all US recreational boaters, and will collect data on the nature and frequency of their boating activities, as well as their exposure to certain hazards. The data will be collected from a randomly selected sample of boaters, and only those selected in this probability sample will have the opportunity to participate in the survey. Selected boaters may receive the survey questionnaire by mail if they own a registered boat. Otherwise, they may receive a phone call if their phone number is randomly generated by the computer.

All information collected from the boating public will be used by the Coast Guard only, and for the sole purpose of creating statistical summaries. Personal data such as e-mail or street addresses may be used only to re-contact respondents with reminders if necessary. If you have further questions regarding this survey, do not hesitate to contact the Coast Guard's National Recreational Boating Survey technical manager at 202-372-1102.

They've called me 4 times in the past week. I've never answered, but they leave messages about participating in a National Health Survey.

Don't know who is calling from 802-861-3486....don't care.  I will not give you SCAM ARTIST the time of day.  If you are legit, which your not, you would be professional enough to leave a detailed message as to the nature of your call.  Also if you were a professional institution, which your not, you would not be harassing people through out the day and night.  REALLY?????  GET A REAL JOB LOSERS!!!!

They called & left no message. I do not answer calls from unfamiliar numbers.

They call and leave a message about a health survey for Vermont residents.  Yeah, right!

This number has been calling my house every day for several days. I do not answer since I do not recognize the number. My wife answer the call this evening. The caller said they were calling from the Vermont Dept of Health. They asked how many adults lived in the house and did they smoke.

I received a call three days ago from this number.  The caller-ID showed "ICF".  They left a message saying they were doing a survey for the Health Department and asked that I call back.  Because of the bad flu outbreak, I assumed it was a survey about the number of cases in the State and both my husband and I and our daughter-in-law were sick for a couple of weeks over Christmas.  So thinking I had information they may find of use, I was going to call them back but my husband had deleted their message and number.  So yesterday when they called again, I answered (I usually never answer unless it is someone I know).  They said it was a health suvey for the Health Department to find out people's health habits.  They only asked if I was 18 years of age and how many people in the household were over 18.  Then they asked if either one of us smoked cigarettes.  I said  "no", they said "thank you" and that was the end of it.

Until I looked the number up here I didn't realize the company's name is Macro.  They are not scammers.  They actually are a legitimate company that has been in the Burlington, Vt. area for some time--more than 10 years.  They are marketing researchers and work for a number of clients.  Years ago my daughter's best friend worked there for a few years doing marketing surveys.  They also do focus groups at their offices to test various products or advertising.  I actually participated in one of these focus groups several years ago held for our local hospital (the largest in the state):  Fletcher Allen Health Care Medical Center.  The hospital had just completed extensive renovations in their cardiac care unit (and other parts of the hospital).  They were looking for the best advertising campaign to introduce the public to their new facilities and capabilities and since serious diseases can touch a chord with people they wanted to be careful that the ad campaign was sensitive to people's feelings while still trying to attract their business.  We had to look at various advertisements and critique them.  They pay participants for their time.  I was there about an hour, was served snacks: coffee, soda, cookies, and was paid $40 as compensation.  So they really are legit--they may be annoying to some, but they are legit and not a scam.  God knows enough scammers call me and I never answer them except when I've had enough and answer pretending I am with the Attorney General's office or the local police department.  That usually does the trick!!

Got a call and ignored, these companies need to stop harassing people!

Called at 9 PM.  Wow.  I didn't answer but they left a message about a survey on health care for Vermonters.
Apparently the same number as the Coast Guard survey mentioned earlier in these posts.
