This is not my number. I have never used it. Where are you getting that info. It needs to be corrected.

The fact that this number starts with 111 after the area code screams scam. When was the last time anyone dialed a number like this? Never.

We recieved a call from this this 18031111111 and they left us a different number as 18662171709 ×625407 and said that there was a lawsuit against us and the cops were going to arrest us

Received the same bogus call with threating affidavit number 33360. Called them back at 8662171709 because I was bored.
They asked if I was this person with a different first name. I tried to get more info on who they are but to no avail. They finally realized I was just trying to waste their time and disconnected.

Whenever I see name unavailable that's a red flag to me I look up the number first & if I find nothing I don't call it. I with the government would do more about these things you sue they shutdown then come right back up under another name.

These people have started again calling about judgment and restraining order. How does these people get your number. I don't owed any money and no payday loan.
| Jeff 2013-12-11 21:22:53 Unknown |
These lowlifes have used two numbers to contact me with their recording about them being the "Civil Investigations Unit" regarding some civil action and restraining order against me and the same as others have written about contacting my lawyer. The caller ID reads 801-111-1111, so I called it and got a recording that my call could not be completed. I recommend NOT calling the number they provide because it is either a scam or phishing. I filed an FCC complaint and hope these people rot in hell.

This is why I use Google Voice. Reported as spam in a few clicks.
You'd think if I had any chance of riling someone up enough for a restraining order or other court action, I'd know about it. You'd also think our legal system would be offended at someone using them as a tool for theft.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

I have gotten this call 4 times in the last week and it's to our daughter who doesn't live here! You need to stop them as many will hire a lawyer and spend money for an attorney and can lose a lot of money out of fear. Ridiculous!

This number will call my cell phone every few months - it must be some sort of automated calling system. The message threatens court action without giving any explanation or detail re what type of action. It's a stupid scam, but the scary thing is that some folks out there could get taken in and call the number that they give.

At least 4-5 times in the past week, I have received voice messages at my office directed to my mother-in-law, saying that she's being sued, with a restraining order to be filed against her, in connection with moneys owed. This is one of several numbers from which these calls appear to have been made. I don't generally answer numbers that I don't recognize (especially numbers like 111-1111), and had no intent to call this number back. My mother-in-law has no outstanding debts, although since she died over 10 years ago, it probably won't be too difficult to restrain her.

I got several calls from this number with a message left claiming to be attempting to collect a debt from someone with a similar name to mine. I just ignored them. Then yesterday, same number the message was different. Claimed some type of legal action was pending with a restraining order, yada, yada, contact my lawyer with the info, etc. etc. Then gave a number 888-888-8888 to call back with a case number. I had a little time to kill, so I called and got a recording telling me that if I was over 60 I was qualified for some wonderful deals and benefits, etc. garbage. I hung up and didn't listen to the whole thing...what a hoot.

This call was left on my home landline from (803) 111-1111 (Rock Hill, SC) leaving a message to return the call to (855) 472-0298. The caller read...I am calling for (my name) regarding an urgent business matter. When I called, a gentleman called and when I began to question try to determine the reason they were calling me, he said he was not going to take my S----- attitude and hung up. I called a second time and a lady came on the line saying that she was a paralegal and that she was calling regarding a bill for $698.00 to Household Renaissance for a purchase made in 2005 and written off in 2007. She said she could not give me any furthr information. When I pressed her, she said she could patch me through to a senior paralegal and when I asked him to provide something to me in writing, he said he would once the debt, which could amount to $4,000 if they had to take me to court, and then said they would be preparing the papers which would be served on me by the sheriff in my city in 24 -48 hrs after it was processed. They had my full name, social security number and date of birth. I told them to go ahead and file the necessary papers. I am so glad that I did further research by going to ASK.com and found numerous others who had received the same type of phone message. I will be reporting this to the State Attorney General, FBI and FTC
