Yep..  Amcol collection agency..  I am disabled and they call at 8am in the morning..  I told them not to call anymore, send letters.  but they keep calling...

10/31/13 am received call from this number but did not answer, it was not convenient at the time.  This is close to Amcol's main number, 803-217-3800 so I guess it is Amcol the collection agency.  Now a certain medical agency gave my mom until 10/29/13 to pay up or the account "might" be turned over to a collection agency.  On 10/24 I called the medical office and behold! they turned it over on 10/21!!  I let them know what I thought of that and after a few days got to "level 3 or 4" of the finance office and was told they had recalled the account.  On 10/30 received a collection letter they said might be coming, called to say it did and was told "don't worry about it we got it back".  h yep sure did!!  Next call is to fin off to complain.  btw the "DNC" list doesn't prevent this type of call.

I have gotten calls from this number (803-217-3810 ) but don't answer. I never answer unknown numbers. I used to turn up the volume on my car radio and hold the phone up, blast them out. I don't have time for that now. I assume it some zombie debt collection agency but they never leave a message. An annoyance to be sure. Really too bad all of these type businesses  computers aren't hacked and given a worm. Erase everything for everybody.

Would like to know why this agency is calling. Last call I received from them they tried to get personal info saying they were collecting a debt, would not send proof or debt.

I just called them to stop calling me and the rep was very nice.  They were looking for someone else.  He said he would take my number off their list.  I'll let you know if he is telling the truth.

They keep calling for my one daughter who doesnt even live here anymore.There is never any body on the other end of the phone when I answer.All I get is a dial tone as they keep hanging up.

Just as an FYI, the Do Not Call Registry does not apply to collection agencies, especially if the debt is legally yours.  Your best action is to write them a cease and desist and send via certified mail.

I recieve calls from 803-217-3810, 803-217-3811, and 803-217-3812 and as soon as I answer, they hang up. I call them back to let them know I want them to stop calling me, and they said they have my number as a name by Eric (don't remember the last name) but it was difficult to pronounce. I asked them what kind of company they were running and why they called me and the guy got nervous and said "Well we have no more business with you so we can no longer help you and bye." He said a few more words jumbled in there, but he sounded super nervous and tried to speak as fast as he could, and he hung up on me.

Now, I will call them over and over until they get pissed off. Their calls annoy me, so why not annoy them back? It's really hard for someone to make me mad, but collection calls are just pathetic, therefore I will call them until they threaten me. Then they will know how it feels. Maybe I'll try to get to know each of the employees personally. It will be fun for me, but aggrivating for them. :D

Yes! Red & Friends, this is Amcol Systems. Now 3 year later, I got 2 calls from 803-217-3810 on 16 Feb, 2011. A collection agency in hiding (Columbia, SC). But calling a "DO NOT CALL phone number", which has been Registered with the FEDs as of 2008.

The automated phone system "This is an important business matter", and gave a choice like, press 1 if you are the XXXX XXXXX (some name). I said No, this is a "Do Not Call" # so, Do Not Call again, no one was on the phone at the the other end. I guess they are totally unaware of the Federal and State Laws pertaining to these kind of calls. I did a thorough search on the above 803-217-3810 and Amcol Systems.

They should know that a second call to a registered "DO NOT CALL" phone # will cost them $50,000.0/call in term of fines by FTC. Also to my surprise there is an Army of companies available to consumers on-line for help. Simply put: Do Not Mess with the FEDs and better be aware of "The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, FDCPA" !!
