Just got a call from this # 803-393-4590. Said that one of my family member had a law suit against them. It's all a scam. Don't fall for there threats.

I received this call today on my voicemail as well, telling me to respond with an affadavit number which was 4 alpha digits, 4 numerical. I called back, pressed 2 when prompted and on my second attempt, reached a live person in the "litigation department". She asked for my phone number, I gave her the affidavit number instead and she was able to look it up that way. She gave me a name asking if that was me, it wasn't so she removed me from the system. This sounds like a collections agency. Might want to try to get through that way and have them remove your numbers.

This number called my Mother In Law and they asked for me by a last name I had a 16 years ago.
I didn't even have this name when I married my current Husband 7 year ago.
They told my Mother In Law in South Carolina that I was being sued and I live in Arizona.  Theywould not tell her why.  This a TOTAL SCAM!!  People are just cruel!!!

I got the same call as everyone else-- they called and asked for my previous last name (previous marriage from more than 15 years ago)!  They made the same threats and etc.  I called the number and got the same menu others referred to-- I'm going to report it to the Attorney General in my state and watch my credit report...

I just listened to the same message on my answering machine from this number.  It was cut off at the beginning, so I don't know if it was for me or someone else.  I am really glad I decided to Google it first and found this website (as well as several others that say the same thing).  I don't know where to report this, but if I find out, I definitely will.

I received a voice mail from this number. I called back after several attempt and finally made contact with someone. Said I owed some money from a cash advance from 2003. They didn't ask for any information. Scam to the best of my knowledge. If I get a subpoena I'll let you know.

How do they get my contacts' numbers?

We got 2 voice mail messages saying the same thing: criminal investigation, Affidavit Complaint number, restraining order, number to call, etc.  It was for a relative that lives in a city hundreds of miles away.  We were worried at first but thank goodness for this website.  Needless to say, we will not be calling.

I also recieved this call at my mother-in-laws. They had my old address and my name but would not leave their name with her, She said they were very rude and nasty to her when she said she was not me.I had been gone from that address for over 5 years. She was able to get a call back number. Since I don't owe any debts I knew it was a scam. I tried to call them back as well and got the same message. I will report this to trade commission.

I also received calls from this company. They were actually for my son in law, who has never lived here! They were very threatening and told me I needed to give this info to him immediately as this was a very serious matter. Why would they have MY phone number if the msg was for him and he has never ever lived here?  What a scam! Why would a number in South Carolina be calling me, in California? My son in law has never lived in another state other than Calif.  If anyone gets these calls, PLEASE don't give them any personal info, especially your SS#!!!!! I am certain this is a scam. I wish they would catch these creeps.

Just got the same message from 803-393-4089. Civil Investigative Unit. Complaint filed against me. Order to Show Cause. 24 to 48 hours to respond. Central Processing Group. This is a scam!

I have a message on my answering machine left this afternoon saying I was named as a Respondent in a civil investigation and that a restraining order had been issued against me. It is from the Civil Investigation Unit and is from (803) 393-4089. It said I must respond within 48 hrs. Looks like a scam based on other replies here. I should would like to find out who is doing this!

This company is about to be burnt with all these reports. I hope you all are reporting this to your attorney general AND the FTC. They are scammers and they are violating the law. They are not allowed to threaten that your bank account is going to be frozen without the due process (need a court order that will not be granted until a civil action takes place. both of which give you notice to resolve the debt). Review the FDCPA. When I spoke with these nimrods and named their violations, I got hung up on. They know they are breaking the law and they are relying on the few naive folks who might have money to spend to pay them. Their threats are highly illegal. But, please report them! They are not going to stop until the law stops them

They did not mention a name at all. This just has spam written all over it - there are 4 people living in this house and all are elderly. SPAM SPAM SPAM.

Had the same issue, My mom called me and said they left a message I have a restraining order and need to forward the information to a lawyer with 24 hours. Unreal... I called and it says says it can not process my call and disconnects

My mom just called me with the same details that you all received...that I had a court case or judgement against me.  I told my mom to take the telephone number she had (803-393-4089) and plug it into Yahoo to see if it came back with any information and thats when I found this site. I figured it was spam since I've maintained my own residence and phone numbers in a completely different state than my parents over the past 20 years.

This is a scam.  It possibly will cause a huge long distance or other charge to you.

I've received the same call,they left a message on my voicemail saying that a restraining order was against me and pass this message to my lawyer in 23-48 hours,i needed to appear in court and gave me a case number to use when i call back. When I called back I got recording with options,i tried all the option and they all said the same thing...that no one was available.

I just got a call from them today stating that I have restraining order against me. Not true!! Scam written all over it.

I have been receiving these calls for a while. They told my employer they were sending the Sheriff to my job, my boss told them to go right ahead, that was a year ago and no Sheriff. They recently contacted a relative that I do not even talk to, she hunted me down through another relative. I am so tired of this s***. If you have the power to sue me than sue me. I am so tired of this harassment.

The number called me and claimed to be a compnaycalled "Central Processing Group with the number 803-393-4089.  Threatening me with a civil suit and said a judge would take care of me...Is this fraud?

Received a message at my office with the same information. Tried calling the number back and pressed option "2". cannot get through because they were busy.
