I got a call from this number 803-777-1357 on 4/29/14 at 8:36 pm. A lady said she was doing a survey for the University of South Carolina.  She said if my number was xxxx. I told her yes that it was my cell phone. She ask if I had a landline and I said no. She she said that I qualify to continue with the survey and asked if I had about 10 minutes. I told her no. She said that she will call later.
Received a call again on 5/1/14 at 2:34pm. I didn't answer.
I tried to call back to request my number be removed from their list, but nobody answer.

I received a call from this number the other night and all the lady wanted was money from me, a 10.00 donation. Very persistant, and as recent grad I have many student loans and living expenses to pay. I can not afford 10.00 or a 1.00 to waste. I made that clear and she did not care, she continued to talk about donating. When I have asked to be removed and I still am recieving phone call, that is grounds to be sued, I hope South Carolina is ready.

They Called ME at 8;26 PM on a weeknight. I hang up and she calls back and gives her name again. Sooo..I tell her I'm leaving the phone off the hook and DO for several minutes. MANY surveys are for market research. Health of the residents?? OKKayyy but they can MAIL me then instead of wasting my valuable time in realtime

They called me yesterday at 9pm. They claimed to be doing a medicaid survey. They have been calling me everyday for the past 3 weeks. It is getting annoying. I think it may be a scam because no one calls to do a survey after 9pm.

FYI - I got one of the calls on a Saturday night at around 8:30pm. And no matter how legitimate these calls are, it is not okay for them to continue to call people after they have requested to be removed from the list.

Woke up to this number on my cell phone.  Googled it and here I am.  The call was made at 930 pm....That's way too late for any kind of survey!  Besides, I don't do phone surveys...I'm sorry...I don't care what their intent is, it's a waste of my time and cellphone minutes.  These students should not be required to make these surveys.  Nothing but an annoyance....for those of you who did answer, good for you, but I still don't trust phone surveys.  Not one bit.  I get the feeling these people will call again and again.  Now I know not to answer.  I like this site for that reason...been here several times and this solved a lot of mysteries for me...mostly junk phone calls.

I missed a call from them on my cell phone.  I called them back & the person that answered the phone explained that they were doing an interview for DHEC.  All the interviewers were on the phone conducting interviews, so they called me back.  The lady I spoke to was very sweet, the interview took about 15 minutes & I would do it again if they called.

These calls are from the Institute for Public Service and Policy Research, an interdisciplinary research and public service unit of the University of South Carolina (www.ipspr.sc.edu/). They are completely legit, conducting multiple surveys for local, state and federal institutions (i.e. CDC, DHEC, DJJ).These calls are completely confidential, for the greater majority of surveys they will not ask you your name, address or any personal information to identify you. You do not have to answer any questions you don't want to, and you can end the interview at any time. First the phone numbers are randomly generated by computer, then a household member is randomly selected (unless it is a cell phone interview). This ensues that the survey remains scientific and unbiased, thus the birthdate question and the response " you might not be the person we need to speak with". Surveys are conducted 9am to 9:30pm Mon thru Fri, 10am to 4pm Sat, and 3pm to 8pm Sun, all EST. The interviewers ARE extremely knowledegable, courteous and professional, and want nothing more than to complete the interview promptly and let you go on your way.

I received a call from this number and they stated they were conducting a health study for residents in SC for DHEC & CDC.  I found the questions to be interesting, althought slightly personal.  The person asking the questions (I think she said Nita) was extremely knowledegable, courteous and professional.  By the end of the survey I realized the importance and value of the questions.  I believe my time was well spent.

I am constantly getting calls from this number. By constantly I mean daily and several times a day for at least 2 months now. I have never answered because I wanted the caller to leave a message so I would know who they are and what they wanted but they never leave a message. I finally googled the number to see where the call was coming from. I appreciate the comments left here so at least I have some idea about this number. Thanks!

I reviewed my caller ID and saw a missed call from this 803.777.1357, and again called and requested our number to be withdrawn from their surveying list.  The lady was very polite, however indicated that there are 15 surveys going on and she would try to remove our number.  These individuals are very persistant!
