I received an e-mail from Shawn Wilkar at citifinalcialusa.gmai, first clue this is a scam since a business would not have a gmail account.  The e-mail said Hi
This is Mark White from CitiFinancial usa.
Your loan has been approved for $4000.00
So please find an attachment and get back with us.

Mark White
813-667-7147

The Ironic thing is that I have received numerous e-mails from a Mark White, representing himself as a US Marshall and as a representative of many government officers.  This is definitely a scam, unfortunately, there is no way to opt out of these e-mails.  I have tried calling but that does not always work.

You need to start giving them a taste of their own medicine I record every single call they make even when they hang up I save it in my call display so I can use it in court if necessary since what they are doing is illegal so now I have proof against them.  I make sure they tell me their names and get it on tape.  After they make some smart a&& comment I tell them I am recording them.  One of the women told me that I can't record her call without her permission I told her to call the cops and have me arrested haha I told her not only will I tape you I will post the message on you tube so suck it up.   They are still playing games with me but I'm one up on them.

File as many complaints as you can, privacy commission, ombudsmen, any government agency that will regulate them.  Report them to the phone company for harassment, just keep your complaints coming in, inconvenience them the more you push back the more they have to defend themselves the better for you they will at some point give up and settle and leave you alone.

Yes it is Citifinacial.
i told them we have filed bankruptcy, and the attorney says they can not call you after you tell them this. Guess what, they have conveniently forgotten to let their collection department know.

Rob, unfortunately they are within their right to call until payment is made. I have the same problem with them. It drives me crazy especially since my paperwork clearly states that I have a 5 day grace period on the payment before I am considered late. The payment always seems to fall on my off-pay week, so this is a regular annoyance.

They are only allowed to call within certain hours and only a limited amount of times per day. If they are calling outside of those times or more then the allowable amount (should be able to find on the internet) then you can file a complaint against them with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and also with the State Attorney General for harassment. I've noticed that they only call to the limit, they never actually go over. I keep waiting for them to make that mistake though.

each month on the due date they start even on a saturday or sunday. from 8am to nine pm. they come in pairs. please hold, then a hang up.    its against the law to call than more than once per day., but how do you get the law enforcement to enforce it when they refuse. so far i have had six calls in the last hour and a half. im confident it will continue through the weekend. my payment due date was two days ago, and i get paid next week so they got to wait. what can i do when the law says they cant harass, but they do anyway, who enforces this law???? this seriously aggravates me to no end.   oh im in the state of pa.

Called my house this morning at 9:13am after I rec'd the return receipt from the letter that I sent on Feb 20 stating that the person they are looking for does not and has not ever lived here and to remove my number from her file. The calls stopped around March 1 up until this morning 6/19. I'm livid to say the least. Here is their mailing address - go to town!!

I got a call from this number the day after I switched my cell phone number to my new one. I told them I didn't know who the person was they wanted to talk to. I then told them I just switched my number with my cell carrier and to please take me off their list. I just had another call from them this evening and it's been over 24 hours since I told them to take me off the list.

Each violation is worth $1000 to you. Each call out of hours. Each threat of law enforcement action. Each threat to seize your assets when they have no intention of doing so. Each threat of a lawsuit when they have no intention of suing you. If people would just start taking them to court (even small claims court), they can have $5000 in their pocket immediately. You just have to have the proof....the proof is a recording of the conversation. Go buy a cheap recorder and start recording. I don't care if it is not supposed to be legal. What this company does is not legal. Besides, they would never try and pursue criminal charges. Sue them, sue them, sue them. Introduce the audio tapes in court. If the judge questions the legality of it, simply let them know that unfortunately you had to resort to an illegal means of capturing their illegal ways. The judge will most likely side with you. Oh, and in small claims, they can't have a lawyer present. Which means they won't be sending anyone. Which means that you should win by default. If you won't/don't sue them, then quit complaining. Of course you could block their number. Most phone companies now allow that.

Well I owe them around $5,600 bucks and I get a call daily even though I am on a temporary forbearance...just hit ignore button on your phone. Works for me. Also I can program my phone to give each number a special ringer. Give them a silent ringer so your not bothered and then hit ignore once your phone lights up! They don't care if you have no money, I tell them that all the time. They don't really communicate amongst themselves either, especially from the corporate offices to the home offices. You can make a payment to home office and it will be a week before corporate gets the information and stops calling. IGNORE THEY PUNK A***S!

Well receive these calls from my cell phone about 5-10 times a day. They constantly call about a debt, I ignore the call and send it to voicemail. I know that I owe them money, but my paycheck has gotten smaller as I am going through financial turmoil right now and they are talking about having us go on furlough days making my pay shrink even more. If they keep calling, it will not get my pay in their hands any quicker. When I get paid they will too. When there are more jobs created and more pay given to those who already work, then I will start to pay my bills on time. I am sooo tired of explaining myself to these people. I can't wait to find another job paying more money than now, so I can then pay the fukkers off and be done with them once and for all!!!!

This is Citifinancial and like everyone else has stated they are a pain in the butt!!  They call numerous times a day and we no longer answer the phone.  After calling from one number and not getting an answer they immediately call another number and think we may answer them then but no such luck.

I've gotten calls from them as well.  The thing that makes me the most upset is that my payment is NOT late.  I can go on-line on my personal account and the payment is right there, not a day past due.  They say they can't see the payment on their end yet.  Huh??  Shouldn't a bill collector have the most up-to-date information on a customer's account before calling to tell them their payment is late?  They also try to get lots of personal info from you, which I never give out over the phone.  Very bad business dealings with this company!
