I receive a call about 20 times a day at work from this number.  I answered it a few times and asked them to please not call me as it was my work number and received a very nasty reply and was hung up on.  I stopped picking up the phone when I see that number for obvious reasons, I AM AT WORK!  They haven't left a voice mail message until today and it was a woman saying that "the sound of people's voices make her cringe and she is getting gray hair".  She didn't identify herself or her company, so I have no idea who they are and why they are calling.  I just registered my work phone number on the do not call registry to see if that would give me more leverage to file a complaint.

These rude arse people call day and night and are too ignorant to leave a message when your voice mail picks up.  Not sure if the caller gets paid by the number of phone numbers he dials or not.  It can't be the number of people they talk to because there is never a person on the other end or I get a message to hold on for the next agent.  YOU CALLED ME I WILL NOT HOLD!  I've read on other sites it's Citi company.  I have never had business with them and after all these calls I NEVER will!

I have been receiving calls from this phone # three to five times a day. It is an automated message everytime, and they are calling someone who I not only don't know, but have never even heard of!! I've changed my phone number, after a similar incident, months ago, and now it's starting ALL OVER AGAIN. This is not only annoying, but they're calling a prepaid cellphone, and I have to eat up minutes every time I check my messages only to realize it's 1204987352 messages from CitiFinancial, for a stranger. I don't want to have to change my number (yet again) but I can't seem to make these calls stop! There's never a human being on the other end, and if I wait through the message I get hung up on.
I've never even had a credit card, and for good reason apparently. If this is how CitiBank deals with their potential future customers, rest assured I shall never, EVER do business with them.

This is amazing! I'm glad I never answered! I do NOT have any account with Citibank NOR Home Depot! I do NOT owe anyone any money, except the govt through a school loan which is on auto-pay! I don't even have credit card debt! I've gotten several calls a day, randomly for the past 2 weeks!

Today alone I've received 5 phone calls from 8038355600 CitiFinancial.  They are looking for another person but keep calling our home number.  We've asked them several times to stop calling, but the just keep calling.  THey call on Sunday, early morning, late evening, whenever.  The people that we talk to are very rude, hang up on us, and just don't care.

We are trying to lodge a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau).  We replied to the do not call list.  We don't know what else to do to get them to stop.

It is illegal to call continually - especially 5 or more times a day. That is 'harrassment'. Report them. Go to BBB online and file a complaint. Contact an attorney that offers a free consultation. Make sure you are on the Government "do not call" list and report the number and the harrassment. Do this especially if they are harrassing you on the JOB! Citi Financial is going far beyond trying to collect a debt - They are breaking the law.

I am so relieved to see I'm not the only one. We've been getting calls from these people for months now. At first we would answer and my mother would politely say "No Thank You" but then she told us to just not answer when the caller ID said "S. Carolina Call". They call here at least five times a day, they interrupt sleep and are really REALLY starting to piss me off. So I've started answering only to be hung up on or for nobody to be there. I'd very much like to get to the bottom of this.

This number has called our place of business at least 10 times a day for a week. When we picked up the phone, there was only silence.

I finally got the caller ID working and got the number to call them back.  The phone was picked up immediately and the company was identified as "Citi Financial."

I explained politely that it was a business line and to please remove this number.  The person who answered the phone was polite and hopefully the situation is resolved.

They really DO need to fix their software though.

I get this call at least 8 times a day. I have been in poor health lately and it is so hard to get well when I have to run to the phone countless times a day to answer a call where they tell me to wait for the next available agent and then the call disconnects. This needs to stop. The caller ID said "South Carolina."  I do not even know anyone in that state. I called the number back to ask them to remove me from thier list and they put me on hold, so I hung up.

I've been receiving calls from this number for the past couple of weeks. The voicemails left were from an automated system. I returned the call and found out I had a past-due CitiFinancial account. Although it was a legitimate call, the "issue" that caused them to call me in the first place is suspect.

1. There was apparently a "postal code" block placed on my account, causing them to not be able to send correspondence beyond the first two bills I initially received. I'm still unclear how the zip code becomes "blocked" in their system.  KEEP IN MIND I DID RECEIVE TWO BILLS FROM THEM INITIALLY!

2. The account (opened to purchase some carpet) was a 6 month, no interest account. I mistook that for "no payment" account and did not make the $10 minimum payment on the first bill. Luckily, I paid off the balance in full on the 2nd bill. HOWEVER, that $10 minimum payment that I missed during the first month created a $39 late fee - which combined with not receiving subsequent bills from them - snowballed with interest into a $200+ balance.

3. My primary phone# was removed from the account (they can't tell me by whom or when that occurred). They did not attempt to call my secondary (work) number until 6 MONTHS later...

They "counter offered" with a $67 payoff to make it go away.
I'm pulling paperwork to verify the terms of the original agreement before I pay them.

These guys are a co-collections agency related to or contracted by Citi Finance according to the local branch office.  I am currently out of work on disability due to an injury sustained in an auto accident.  Funny thing about these people is they continue to call my phone 8+ times a day even though my disability insurance is paying while I'm out, AND (get this) the arraingments they say they can make for you are normally NOT acceptable by the local branch of CitiCorp!!!  HOW USELESS IS THAT???  So basically they will constantly harass you over money that is supposed to be getting paid by insurance and they apparently don't understand the english language because when they are told not to call back the phone is ringing within 20 minutes.

How many times are these people allowed to call a day and what times are they allowed to call by law??  The local branch says they can call as many times as they want as long as you don't answer or they don't leave a message; after you answer or they leave a message they are supposed to stop until the next day.  Only problem is that with an automated dialer, it doesen't know when it leaves a voicemail or msg on a machine and continues to call.  I understand they want their money, but who or what law is gonna protect us from being harrassed by them???  If anybody knows please email me at suthernboy75@yahoo.com.  I normally work third shift and it is very difficult to sleep when they are calling avery hour and I can't turn off my phone because my kids are in school...

I've been recieving these phone calls for the past week now @ work!!!! I work on a military base & have no idea how they got the number, but when they call they ask for a person by the name "Laquita Merit" which of course is not me. I've told them countless times that there isn't a person by that name here but they keep calling. I want to know who i need to talk to to have this situation taken care of! It's really starting to p me off.

THESE PEOPLE ARE NUTS!!!  They don't quit calling -  It is August 24, and I AM PAID THROUGH OCTOBER!!!  I've verified this and they gave me the info that their computers do not update until 9:00 - NOT MY PROBLEM - MY ACCOUNT IS UP TO DATE!!!!  These people are ridiculous - it is CitiFinancial financed through Ashley Furniture.  I have made 9 FULL PAYMENTS IN SEVEN MONTHS - and they don't count them unless they land at their office during your new monthly billing cycle.  A day to early and you are screwed. . . you will have to pay an additional payment for the next month. I pay my bills when they are arrive or when I sit down and think about it.  I'm not on a budget, and I'm not counting pennies - I just make sure my accounts are paid.  BOO FOR ME FOR MAKING TWO PAYMENTS IN A MONTH - I knew I was paying ahead and I sent in 40 less than my normal payment - I have no idea why - just an oversight.  It cost me 40 to pay the 40 with a late fee.  WTF???  When my business is done there will never be another dime given to Citi-ANYTHING!!!

Forgot to mention that the cease and desist option I wrote about a minute or so ago, is a tool you may enjoy using as one of your options!

If you select to do so, word as follows:

[Date]

To whom it may concern:

Please cease and desist the harassing and annoying phone calls.

Failure to do will result in violation of the Fair Credit Collections Act (or whatever it's called these days) and I will report you and / or your firm for illegal collection practices if you don't stop immediately.

Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Bozo Jones

cc: [if you have an attorney, his / her name here, if not, no biggy]

Please do not be a smarty and sign it "Love, so 'n' so!"  If you have legal counsel, forward a copy to him / her.  This will save you $$ having them write it for you and by cc'ing a copy, will give it "teeth."  There are remedies under the law to protect you from harassing phone calls and they can be punished!

They do have a right to call you every single day and several times if they so choose!

You have the right to ask them to cease and desist from calling you.  You will need their address to do so, because it must be done in writing.  Your letter MUST be sent via registered mail because you'll need a signature that shows they received it!

call on my fax line from 803-835-5600 (Fort Mill SC) asking that I call 800-525-5234.  For fun, I called, got a man who said the caller was Citi Retail Services and Citi Financial, which may or may not have been so, and may or may not have been related to Citibank.  He asked for my account number, and I said What account number, You called me.  I was not about to give any information; he had my caller ID, and that should have been enough.  No one has cause to dun me, so they must be selling something.
