i got a call from this number and its from bankers life and casualty company the person on the other line was so rude and i cannot understand what he was saying because he has a thick accent. i posted my resume through monster.com and he says that his manager found found my resume online and wants to meet with me he gave me available schedules to meet with his manager but unfortunately i cannot because i have other plans that day i told him i would call him back. i googled the company and it is an insurance company looking for an insurance SALES person! the heck i am an IT who wants to sell insurance anyway. it is a DOOR TO DOOR SALES and you will have to pay for your own gas! you will pay for your training as well and the processing fee for insurance license and to top it all it is a COMMISSIONED BASED JOB! stop wasting peoples time!

Got a call from same number, didn't recognize it so let it go to voicemail. The guy who left message was foreign & said name was Artie or Rory but either way, I wasn't going to call cuz I'm not interested in selling anything. He said he came across my resume on Monster. Glad I googled da number cuz it confirmed my Suspicion. It's sad that people are still trying to get over on other people.

I finally put my resume Monster and this is what I get:
His name sounds like Royee Prett (or Pratt). It's Banker's Life and Insurance. Only his phone machine answers. The only conclusive information I could find about his company is what you guys were so kind to post here. The highlight of my job search today is that I won't have to waste any more time on this guy.

I got this call today and the guy left a voice-mail. Having been through a similar scam from the insurance company operating with the National Association for the Self Employed, I decided to find out everything I can about this "opportunity" before returning the call.
The guy that called me also sounded Indian. He said his name was Artie something, and that his manager saw my resume on Monster. They wasted a phone call because I have no intention of going through the same hell that I went through three years ago with an insurance company who makes you pay for your own training and background check, only to make you cold call people and refuse to pay you a base salary.
I hadn't heard of Bankers Life and Insurance until today, and given this questionable method of obtaining employees--excuse me, independent contractor, because that's basically what you'll be if you go through with this scam-ortunity--I will make sure that I and my family steers clear of them.

Hey Fran,
Apparently this guy left a message on my phone too! I have no clue where they get insurance experience off of my resume!
Everyone, thank you for the heads up. Maybe we should start a company that busts companies like this one.

Yeah just got a call from the same guy this morning. He said they got my resume from monster (which is somewhat legit considering I did post it on monster.) He also informed me that the position was with Banker's (life insurance company) and explained their client base. He was friendly and answered any question I asked (albeit he was a bit difficult to understand.) He wanted me to set up an appointment, but could not email me information about the job (though he said the only email he could send is an appointment confirmation email.) I checked out bankers and they look legit. My only issue is that my resume doesn't indicate that I've had any sales experience, so this is either just a catch-all kind of position where they send you out to fend for yourself (possibly after paying the $300 training fee as described above), or they really think I'm smart enough to perform a job for which I have zero experience. I think it's the former. It may be legitimate, buuuuuuut I think I'll keep my current job instead of taking a renegade insurance sales job

I just listened to the message on my phone also coud barely understand the guy (heavy accent) glad I looked this up, being out of work I hate that this is a scam, called back in less then 5 minutes after hearing the message and it says he's out of the office right now, what a waste of my time. That's what happens when you put your info on these employment sites he said his so called manger saw my resume on Monster I agree something needs to be done.

They just called my home number. Indian accented guy said they got my info from careerbuilder.com. When I inquired as to the company he hung up. I noticed a post on this site that it was Bankers Casualty and Life so, I googled their number in midlothian. Called their office and girl admitted this is who called and agreed to take my info out of system. Call 804.897.3256 and complain about the dude. Just sucks I have to waste this much time for an unwanted, unsolicited, call

Got the call today. They stated they got my resume on HotJobs claiming to be Banker's Life. I am not interested in selling insurance. Why don't they put an ad out like everyone else, instead of bugging people who are not interested. thanks for the info

Got this call today too. They found my resume on careerbuilder.com. Will not call back. Thanks for info everybody =)

i just got off the phone with this dude. He told me the same thing and to set up an interview witht his company.I'm not iinterested in selling insurance. People are always trying to scam others and the law doesnt do anything about it. What are they good for. I think law enforcement is a waste of tax dollars.

Thanks! I also got a call just a few moments ago from a man with an accent and his line was cutting off. He said he got my info from Career Builders. He hung up with me because he said he was going to get his lines checked. I saved the number so the next time he calls, I will be ignoring it!

I just got a call from this number too claiming they received my info from HotJobs. I did not apply here and will not call back!
| T McFoo 2010-12-02 16:17:24 Unknown |
I received calls on my home phone and my cell phone from this number. Left messages saying they got my info from my resume on Yahoo's HotJobs. Claim to be a company called Bankers Life and Casualty. Wanted to set up interview. I researched online and turns out this is a scam. They have multiple interviews with job seekers (to make it seem legit) then "hire" you AFTER you pay them a $300 training fee. You are then sent out door to door to sell insurance products to the elderly. BEWARE!
