I get calls from this number 804-234-9037 several times a day. I let it go to my machine but there is never a message left. I can ignore them as long as they bother me. There's no law saying I have to answer my phone.

These people keep calling several times a day.  And this has been going on for several weeks.  I think they have to do with trying to reactivate old credit debts as least thats what I was told by an acquaintance.  I'm just tired of the hassle.

Got a call from these people looking for "Jessica" and they seemed really surprised to be talking to me (male).  I told them (like I tell everyone looking for "Jessica" this is a Virgin Mobile cellphone, that I've had it for almost a year now and there has never been a "Jessica" in that entire time.  They hung up on me as I was talking.

Sheesh...I pay for my calls by the minute in a limited 200 min package, if they insist on wasting my minutes the least they can do is listen to me explain they've got the wrong number.  Maybe I should just buy a foghorn and respond with that next time I see a number out of state I don't recognize?

Have received multiple calls from this company seeking the person who previously had this number. I explained the situation, and in the middle of my request to have my new number removed from the database, the caller hung up.

Similar to others who posted here, I returned the call, and got a recording that the company was called "Asset Acceptance." They asked for a four-digit extension number, which I don't have, then the recording asked me to hold for an agent. After about 20 seconds I was disconnected.

I've been getting calls from this number for almost two years. The phone rings, waits to hear my say 'hello' then launches into a recorded message for someone who used to live in an apartment near me who never had my phone number.

They keep leaving messages for me at my sisters house.  All they say is that they're wanting to reach me and that I need to call them back asap.  From what I've gathered from her, they call about 4 times a week.  I've never even heard of AACC or whatever it's called. I wish they'd stop calling, whoever they are!

This number came up on my caller ID and I answered.  It was an automated voice looking for my husband and was leaving a message to have my husband call them back and it was about a debt supposedly.  I told my husband and he said ignore it.  We have since not had any other calls from them and it's been about a week.

This is Asset Acceptance Capital Corp. I got a robo-call stating:
"This message is for (robo voice inserts name),by continuing to listen you acknowledge that you are (robo voice inserts name again)". Then they hang up.
Kate above is right. Another dirty trick from a scavenger/junk debt collector trying to reactivate written off or accounts beyond the statute of limitations to collect. You can make an online complaint to the Federal Trade Commission, or make a complaint to your State Attorney Generals Office.

Here's their info:

Asset Acceptance Capital Corp. is engaged in purchasing and collecting defaulted or charged-off accounts receivable portfolios from consumer credit originators. Charged-off receivables are the unpaid obligations of individuals to credit originators, such as credit card issuers, consumer finance companies, healthcare providers, retail merchants, telecommunications and utility providers. The Company purchases and collects charged-off consumer receivable portfolios for its own account. From January 1, 1998 through December 31, 2007, it had purchased 853 consumer debt portfolios. On April 28, 2006, Asset Acceptance Holdings, LLC completed a stock purchase transaction of Premium Asset Recovery Corporation (PARC). Under the terms of the agreement, Asset Acceptance Holdings, LLC acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of PARC. Asset Acceptance, LLC purchases and holds portfolios in all asset types except for healthcare. PARC purchases and collects on portfolios primarily in healthcare.

They called and say they are a debt collector.  They want to speak to my wife (with her maiden name) and said our "Holiday" account had not been paid since 1990.  HUH???   She never had such an account.  I dare them to call again-they are very ballsy on the phone, rude etc.  If they call again I will drive to their office and "speak" with them face to face

These people buy debt that is very old and try to make think people are dumb enough to pay some smuck that buys debt for pennies on the dollar.
I owed the debt at one time, but has left my credit report so they are pretty much screwed. bad investment kinda like the stock market these days. Don't give them the satisfaction of pissing you off they are the one that are screwed. Never agree you owe any debt over the phone to the f's

This number has calling us for several times now. It was an automated voice messaging that says the message is for a different person. And as the instruction says, hung up if you are not that person, apparently I did everytime they call. but still didn't work. THIS IS SOOO DISTURBING.

When I returned the call, a recording announced it was a company called "Asset Acceptance".
They asked for a four-digit extension number, (but of course I had no idea what to enter) then the man's voice said to please hold for an agent. After about 20 seconds I was disconnected.
