Was it scam?

It is real... I recieved the same letter and recieved my money yesterday!!!  I sent mines on the 23 of Sept and got my check in the mail yesterday... Over 500.00.. Hope that helps... doesn't hurt to fill it out and recieve your money like I did:)

I received the same letter, All it ask for is my name & signature. I tried calling the # but the recording says there's to many calls to receive or call or call you back. Sounds real but I get all kinds of scam letters so who knows if its the real deal or not...

I got the same letter for $ 481.52.!!!
The logo is in black and white, and the paper has a fuzzy
Feeling to it. It looked fake.
If is too good to be true, is a not legit! .
I called capital one 360, and a the guy mentioned
He got called about this, and nothing was found
With other calls.
I lived without this. $481.52 Before !!!!!!!
I don't mind not to have it again.:-)

This is the Phone Number of Capital one's unclaimed property research desk (uncashed checks etc).  it is a valid number for captial one and not a scam or any sort.  However,  you should call capital one at the number to verify they are really holding money of yours and sent the letter, becuase just because the number is accurate does not mean the letter is not fictitious and that the reply address really goes to them, especially if its asking you for a card number or social security number or other personal info.

If they don't get ahold of you in a certain amount of time (a few years usually)  they are required by law to turn the money over to the state.. where it could be a year or two after that to get your money out of the state if it comes to that.  in california for instance.  its 1 year after they turn it over to get in the system with a property ID number so you can make a claim then another 180 days after you file a claim to get your check..so you may be better off getting it from capital one while you still can. hope this helps.

Received same letter as Jenny. The letter sounds as if it is tied with state commerce. Seems fishy.

Got this phone number in a letter with my bank's header saying to fill out a form and they would send me $513.00 dollars. Looks like a scam. I'll check with my bank on Monday.
