You can block the number if you hit the info button, little i in a circle to the right of the number, then scroll to bottom of page and hit block caller.

I too received a call from this number, three times. Each morning at 8:30 am and then again when the call was not answered. How are they getting our account information is my question?

Nothing but a computer getting info on us. If I answer and say "Hello" and get no answer, I hang up. Auto-dialer computers getting info on fax, phone, pc's and anything connected to the landline and cellular.

I just got a call from 804-335-0259. When I answered, there was nothing. I appreciate being told it is from Verizon.

Not actually Verizon Wireless - they don't know the actual name on the account, but claim that there is a past due balance, when there is not a past due balance.
They are going to try to get you to tell them your name - don't tell them! Remember all the warnings that legitimate banks and organizations give; they will never call you and ask you for your name - they should know that already.
They will probably also want your credit card or bank account information, imagine that, how convenient for the scammers. Unless YOU initiate the call, don't ever give that out. If you are truly concerned about your bill being past due, go online and pay it, or call verizon directly at the number given on their official website.
