I'm not sure what yall mean by them being scams, but I simply refused to pay them, and next thing you know, I got a summons and had to pay out of my pocket for a lawyer and still got 30 days in jail for defrauding a "financial institution"...not because of this stupidness, I have a record. To hell with Matrix!

I recieved a call from Matrix Resource Group yesterday about a payday loan that was taken out in 2007.Mr.Winston advised me that I will have to go in front of a judge and they will be pressing charges against me for writing a bad check,I did not write a bad check. He could not give me accurate information, only what he had in the sysytem.I will call my governor inreference to this matter.I also looked in my state inreference to payday loans,THEY DO NOT GO ON YOUR CREDIT,my friend had a payday loan and she was advise to pay what she can as long as it get paid off, these people are lying that you have to pay it in full or settle out, call the company yourself.YOU CAN PAY $5 UNTIL ITS PAID OFF.Everyone need to get in contact with BBB to see if Matrix Resource Group has the right to investigate you.

I received a voicemail at my work yesterday (10/10/11), with similar verbiage.  However, it wasn't for me.  The caller Ms. Ellis did use my name in the message; however stated that the message/call was actually for a "Lindsey".  Only mentioned that "....I have no other way to reach "Lindsey" and to be quite honest with you my office is investigating a matter that involves "Lindsey" and wanted to know if there was any possible way that I could give her the message to call her back today".

I was quite upset that my information would have made it to this unknown company/person, linked to a stranger no less!  I called back and she wasn't aware of what or why I was calling, she did say that if she ran into the file for a "Lindsey" today she would make sure to remove my name and contact number from her file and apologized for having contacted me.

Received this same voice mail today.  These scam calls seem to be more and more frequent recently.  Last month it was from a number in Houston.

I have had 2 such messages left for me from this number (once on the 28th, once today, the 9th) with the exact message given above, except they were trying to reach a "Tammy", did not mention a checking account but did mention an 'investigation" that they were sure I "knew nothing about".  Reverse phone number look-up indicates this is a cellular/mobile number based in Richmond, VA. A cell phone? BIG TIME RED FLAGS.

Received a phone call from 1-804-396-2402 today at 7:00am, since i didnt know who it was i didnt not answer it.  A woman left me a voice mail, (very calm, plesent, and polite) stating she was calling from MRG and was investigating a matter with her office that im involved with that is now with the processing department.  She also stated that the more and more that she reviews this matter 'there is no possible way that i could have any idea as to what exactly is going on'' stated that she would only be in the office today for a few hours and that i should call her back so that we can make some sense of this matter.

1. This type of voice mail is left to make you think they are friendly people and to simply scare you and leave you in suspense so that you will return the call.

2.  I did some surfing on the web and was not able to find any info on this phone number or alledged business name.

3. I belive this may or may not be related to someone trying to collect old Pay Day Loan Debt, (this is very common right now)

I didn't catch the name of the organization that the caller claimed to represent (it was jumbled in the voicemail that was left). The caller said that there was some activity with my checking account that required some immediate attention. I left feedback about this number at consumerfraudreporting.org.
