I haven't gotten call after call from these hacks, LoL. If they call from one number, I block it, then they call from another. I had my attorney call back and they couldn't, or wouldn't, answer her questions, then hung up on her. Haha. I just got a voicemail this morning with the same voice telling me good luck in court. Okay!! Haha.

Prank Call
This post was definitely entered by one of the "collectors" running this scam.  DO NOT BELIEVE THIS POST !!!  First of all, in most counties (and parishes) in the USA there are process servers.  Private individuals do not make service, not even with the local police in tow.

Small Claims Court. The only reason they COULD do it was because I signed the agreement for leg action but I also gave a physical check and they had copies of my DL and SSCard. It was check and go. :( So people just make sure you DON'T take out debts where that signature is required.  That's what got me.

"Find you guilty?"  A debt collector "served" you?  What "court" did they take you to? The nonexistent debtors court? Oh please, shill. You're not even trying today. Go away.

What practices are off limits for debt collectors?

Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:

  use threats of violence or harm;
  publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
  use obscene or profane language; or
  repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.

False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

  falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
  falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
  falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
  misrepresent the amount you owe;
  indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren?t; or
  indicate that papers they send to you aren?t legal forms if they are.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

  you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
  they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
  legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.

well, not sure what happened to you guys but this Dana Mitchell actually appeared in front of my house. I was looking up the numbers and finding those responses so I was not really worried about taking it serious. They kept calling all numbers they could find... Family, friends, work even my school!!! Who does that? Well, this Dana lady came and served me the summons with the police at my job :((
End of the story is that I went to court, had to pay $901.56 for a $300.00 loan... But one thing I can say is that the calls stopped and because I paid they did not find me guilty. Payday loans will never be an option for me again.. Good luck guys

Called office but I remembered the # from the other day hanging up in my ear (no doubt bc I answered w/a company name).  Bet anything if I answered "hello" then they'd ask for someone.  But it ain't gonna happen; I pick up, I hang up!  Pretty sure this is a bottom feeder debt collector for a previous employee (who's been gone for YEARS!  Been getting other calls for the person as well.)

This company is CT Management Group and work with allied cash advance.  I have had harassing phone calls  from them including calls to my references.  They called threatening to go to court to get you to set up a payment arrangement. One of the voicemails even stated at the end of the voice mail sarcasticly to my mother good luck in court.  I called them a few times and they refused to give me documentation and were very rude to me. Finally I decided I would play nice and offer to make a payment arrangement with them and the agent was actually polite and not rude like the previous representatives.  They threaten you until you break down and work with them.  The government needs to put a stop to these practices.

Have received several calls over the summer from this summer.  They want you call back the same 800 number that the recording leaves.  At first it was a man and now it was a woman with insertion of a recording threating to serve me at my job. They want to verify my address and work address, shouldn't they already have this information? Hmmmm.  Just did not feel right.  Every number I get that I do not recognize, I look up on the computer.  She said good luck in court.  Good luck to them in court.

I have to say seeing that other people have had the same problem is relieving.  My husband and I started getting muliple companies calling us out of nowhere saying we owed money on loans from 5 years ago...which I knew we never took out. We made the mistake of paying 1 which were werent sure about, but we were working to pay off our debt.  Ever since then they are all coming out of the woodwork, and sending official looking documents to our email, like a payment contract, and debt verification letter.  We have also been threatened with arrest and license suspension, etc. I googled the company name from the "debt verification" letter and there is no website.  Another tipoff was the fact that the contract sent from another company had no contact info, no website or email address.  These people are convincing...watchout!

Red Flag #1 "You've given up all your rights". Maybe in the 3rd world country the call came from, but not in the US of A. Red Flag #2. You are in bankruptcy. 'Nuff said. Check your State laws about recording phone calls, but I can tell you the calls are coming from foreign extortionists.

Same thing - computerized message ON MY WORK TELEPHONE....saying that I had given up all my rights and that they were processing a summons in my county, etc.  I had two calls last week that were the same thing, but from completely different phone numbers (385-232-7246 and 401-223-3265). Those were both computerized messages, basically saying  I was having FRAUD charges filed against me, and both left completely different "case numbers". I called back on one of them and they wanted me to provide my social security number so they could "verify" who I was, etc.  I told them they were full of sh*t and to not call me back at this or any other phone number.  My husband and I recently filed bankruptcy, so I may be getting these types of calls because they think they can go around the system somehow, but it's awful.  I feel terrible enough that we had to file, but now, getting these calls at work ... it's not helping my self-esteem in any way.  I know these calls are completely fraudulent, but it's still hard on a person. I'm calling my attorney next.

First of all, I am on the do not call list for telemarketers.  I've had a Verizon cell phone for my residence for 17 months during which time I have received at least 75 phone calls for a Jacqueline Morgan.  Each time a computerized message is left, I call the company back explaining that I have no idea who this person is and to please remove my number from their list.  I've received THREE calls in the last two days.  Yesterday a man at phone number 401-223-3265 (same company, same computerized message left) told me he would remove my number.  Today a Ms. Hunter at 804-420-4844 was extremely rude to me and threatened to call me every day and hung up on me.  I called back and "Stephen" answered and I explained the situation also telling him how rude Ms. Hunter was.  He said he would remove my name from the call list.  Twenty minutes from the first call and about ten minutes from the Stephen's call, I received another call from the 804-420-4844 number leaving a computerized message once again.  I guess she is living up to her word about continuing her calls.  I will now research what other avenues I may have to stop these harassing phone calls.  I suggest others do the same.
