This phone number called my mother in law and my ex-husbands father say the same things as you all said a restraining order and legal matters

Do you have AT&T?  They called my daughter on her cell phone too.  I was wondering how they got her number being that she has a different last name than mine. She is married. She's on my cell phone plan though with AT&T.  I'm thinking that someone has hacked into AT&T accounts. This is totally a scam. Be sure not to send them money.

I received the exact same message on my cell phone. Supposedly from a Civil Investigations Unit. They said I have a complaint against me and I must appear in court and there is a restraining order. I've never been in any kind of trouble and certainly not anything that would require a restraining order. I thought that was very strange. But the voice sounded so professional and they give a case number and everything. I called the number they told me to call, but just like the others stated, there was a recording and it said the mailbox was full. I thought that was strange too. They said we needed to respond within 24-48 hours. I called an attorney to see if they could look up the case number and tell me who was suing me and for what, because the message does not give that information. The Attorney told me it is a scam. If it were a true lawsuit, they cannot leave a message on your phone. They would have to serve a subpoena in person. AND, they would have to notify me by mail the details of the lawsuit. ALSO, the call came from out of town (VA), the attorney said no one can sue across state lines. It would have to be a local court. These are people trying to scam innocent victims out of money. I also want to add that they left the same message for me on my daughter's cell phone. My daughter has a different married last name as mine, so I wondered how they got her number. Well, her phone is on my AT&T plan. So that tells me they got my number somehow from my AT&T account. Were they hacked into?  Or has AT&T sold our numbers or what?  I am now looking into that with AT&T. So I just wanted to put this WARNING out to anyone thinking of sending these people money.  DON'T DO IT!!  IT'S A SCAM!!!

I received the same call...took many calls back before someone answered.  Said I owed 1000.00 for a blaze mastercard.  When I asked what the account was they hung up so I called back.  They told me they have been sending me tons of mail to settle this debt and when I said no they havent the woman said well if you pay 800.00 we will put it as settled.  I then said send me the paperwork certified and if I owe it I will pay.  She said nope just sit back and wait for the sheriff.  Well I do have a blaze card that was paid in September and when i found the paperwork I called back and they hung up on me.  I called back later and spoke to someone and said I spoke to a lawyer and that my bill WAS paid and she got very nasty and said fine we will put that in our file.  If any of this was legit these people wouldnt hang up and they wouldnt just take my word I paid it....wouldnt they want to see the payment details????  Not sure if a sheriff will end up serving me as the people said but I at least have proof its paid.  Everyone just be careful  They are trying to scare people and if someone panics they may end up paying something they dont owe

Called my 16 year old daughter on her cell phone during school hours. The message left was a to tell her that her mom had a restraining order and needed to contact her attorney within 24-48 hours. My daughter was so upset and worried about the situation. This is totally unacceptable.

My 16 year old got the same message on her cell phone during school. She was so worried and scared. They left a message witht he same information (about me) including the restraining order and to get an attorney. I am now getting calls at work with the same messages.   How did they get my daughter's cell number?

these people are rude!!!!! will not let ask questions or even ansewr. its just ,, this is what i got to say and basicly screw you. . i call back they hang up. i call back they hang up. i call back they hang up. its a long distance number so its on my phone bill!!

consumerfraudreporting.org    and on this site among other things that you can do is file a complaint or go directly to ftccomplaintassistant.gov     I have filed a complaint against this scam and wish all of you to do the same.  I also kindly asked for this scam person to be placed behind bars.  Love Bob

Just received same call about restraining order....etc. on my landline asw ell as cell numbers..Called back and recieved full mailbox message.  I will be checking my phone bill closely for more information on them if I can.

They're scammers!  If they call back, tell them you know they're fraudsters and you've reported them to the FBI and your state Attorney General!

Called for my DEAD brother in law.  For some reason we've been receiving a bunch of these calls for him lately.  Hopefully they aren't calling my MIL (his mother); she is still very upset about his death and this sort of crap would push her over the edge.  My husband took care of his estate so I suppose they got our number that way.  I always research unknown numbers so it just ticks me off people would pull this sort of crap.  Real restraining orders are delivered by certified mail or law enforcement.

I just received a phone call from the following number stating that I need to call them back, forward this information to my Attorney and a restraining order was going to be placed against me if don not respond. The computer generated voice said good luck. WHO ARE THESE BULLIES

I got a phone call from this number this morning, but did not answer it since I didn't know who it was.  My iPhone identified the call as coming from Virginia, USA.  A female left me a voice mail saying that they were calling to notify me that I had a complaint filed against me and I must respond within 48 hours because it concerned a court summons.  They ended the call telling me I must get ahold of them immediately because I would have a restraining order placed against me.  I found the last comment a bit odd -- she said, "Good luck!"  I tried the number back several times to check it out, but it kept going to a voice mailbox that was full.  I really stressed out throughout lunch wondering who could be doing this to me?  Then I decided I had better check the phone number out.  Thanks to Spokeo, I have my answer.

Got a call said I owed from a Discover.card opened in 2008  Never had a discover card!!!!! Told them I was calling the cops and they said go ahead and hung up. Called back from 3 way with a.sheriff on the other end, they would not answer!!!!! Scam!!!

Don't worry about it.  Scammers at it again......I do pity them for having nothing else to do with their life.

You put one too many 4's in the number which is why it appears too long.  But even if you do call it you don't get through to anyone as it's all just a big bazinga.

I got a animated message saying my full name and that I had a lawsuit against me and I needed to talk to my layer because I had a restraining order against me. Also to give my case number to my lawyer, me and lawyer have 24 to 48hrs to oppose this matter.
