This is a ?live? caller that offers to extend your car warranty. I could hear the ?boiler room? in the background. They had my name, make and model of the car, and the date of purchase. This leads me to believe that they can access the automotive registration database in my state. Which is really creepy!!

This call is from a telemarketer trying to sell you a warranty on your car. It may be semi-legit because they appear to have bought your name, nunber, & vehicle info from the dealer you got your car from. If that's the case, forget about reporting this under the Do Not Call law -- it falls into one of the many loopholes in the law. This caller also has some earmarks of a scam though: these guys keep calling back with new numbers -- some I've noted are 540-771-2999, 312-489-2170, 561-091-6563, 207-221-0506, and 813-261-1283. Legitimate businesses do not change numbers like underwear. Best thing to do is don't answer, block their latest number, and do not buy anything from them.

Being on the gov't do-not-call list seems to be increasingly ineffective as 80% of the calls coming into my home are unsolicited. These calls are simply annoying.

Answered phone, heard a pause then someone said " what the f$&k, is you talking" and then the person asked for my husband. Told him he wasn't available and they hung up.

Called while at work; I have my answering machine off. I'm sure like somebody before me said it's the old "car warranty" scam. I wouldn't have answered even if I'd been home. Jerks.

Received a robo call.
Stephanie, as they claimed the name was, said that they had sent notices saying our 2009 vehicles warranty has expired. It was a good robocall. However, it is still the same old telemarketing pishing calls about car warranties that have been going on for over a decade.
