Got a call from this number, no answer, so i researched it here (thanks for the info!)  then they called back under unavailable, so i knew what to expect. sure enough, calling about a survey, something or other about colleges...i'll type the conversation as  I found it funny.

"Hello"
"Yes," in a thick indian accent. "I'm calling you today to ask you a few questions about colleges. I'm not selling you anything. I just have a quick 10 minute survey. Will you participate?"

"Je ne parle pas Anglais" (which means "i don't speak english" although, obviously i do haha but he didn't know this).

He replies, "What? I just need to ask some questions. ok?"

I said "En Francias, s'il vous plait. (In french, please)"

He said, "oh you said, oh! spanish?"

"Ce qui (what)?"

"you mean, espanol?"

"francais"

"espanol?"

"non!! francais!"

"ohhh french...nooooo ma'am i do not do french..no french. you have a good day. i will not ask questions...goodbye".

They left no message.  I called the number back and a recording states, "Thank you for calling Career Specialist."  The recording proceeds to present special offers.  I hung up.

I received a call from this number yesterday (Nov 1, 2013) at 4:34 pm. It was a recorded message. At the end of the message, the they said the call was paid by the Friends of David Yancy. Yancy is a Republicam running for re-election in Virginia's 94th District.

This was a political call from the Fascist Democrat Party.
Don't Answer. All they want to do is tax you every which way to Sunday and give all your money to poor people who sit around and watch Oprah.

804-569-0599.  Received an annoying phone call from this CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE in contravention to DNC laws.  Caller id spoofed to read "unknown caller".    Reported to FTC if for no other reason than to register the magnitude of the criminal problem in this country, and suggest all other victims do likewise.  Next,  make sure the newly elected officials are also made aware of this issue and hold them accoutable in office to fix the issue

Called at 9 pm. Violation of the law right there.

A political survey call of the Va. GOP Convention Delegates.

This # is back at it again. They tried to call while I was on a long distance call so I did not switch lines to speak to an "unknown".  Several calls earlier in the day from "unavailable" (if they're unavailable so am I).

Called me.  When I answered, they hung up.

I use the phone for my business and always answer "4permits.  Can I help you?"  And almost all of them apologize and hang up or just hang up.  BUT!  They DON'T call back!  I think the secret is to pretend to be a business and they will go away,

I have had two missed calls from this number in the last week.  After researching this site to see what group/company is calling me, I decided to just call the number back.  It answers immediately and tells you to push 1 if you want to be added to their do not call list.

Called me 4 times, 2 times before the election and 2 times days after election is over.  No one ever speaks or says anything.  The calls are from Dinwoodie, VA.  Whoever they are, I HATE them.

Called several times, hanging up after hearing me say "hello"... so, go ahead,baby - call me back, and tell me where I can find you so we help you see the light.

RECD THIS CALL FROM PERSONS UNKNOWN ON SAT. NOV 10. SINCE THE ELECTION HAS ALREADY HAPPENED, HOW WOIULD ANYONE BE CALLING FROM A POLITICAL ORG, OTHER THAN TO FIND OUT IF I VOTED FOR WHOEVER????????? NO MSG LEFT BY THE CALLER, SO IT WAS PROBABLY A ROBO-CALL!!!

Same as other posts. Answered the call, said Hello 3X. No reply other than a "Click"??? Call ID said "Unknown Name". WHO IS THIS & WHAT DO THEY WANT???

I received a call from this number, this evening at 6:40 p.m.,  After seeing the number listed on this forum, I just perfromed a call trace on the number.  I bleive that I have heard the caller's voice ( presumptively a lcoal voice) before.  Alhtugh the moible phone was listed as belinging to a Pertersburg- Richmond, VA location, I bleive that I have heard this particuarl voice on scam/.sapm calls before in the Northern Virgnina area.  At any rate, the caller identified himslef as from the Romney Campaign, and told me to go to a shopping center in Chantilly, VA to pick up my freee Romney bumper stickers and yard signs.  He also indicated that i could press one if I wanted to help with the Romnany cmapign.  I pressed one because i wanted to speak to a live human being; however, instead , the phone disconnected.  Frankly, I do not wish to put bumper stickers orn any of my vehicles or put up yard signs.  This race is hotly contested where I live!  I have other reasons for wishing to be poltically anonymous at for anyu candidate the moment.  At any rate, I have no real reason to believe that the call really was a part f fany campaign because not only was I disconnected when I pressed one, but I have received lots of spam/telemarketing and scam calls coming from this particuarl location near Richmond, as well as near tringle, Bumpass, Dinwiddie, Virgnina beach, Palmyra and so forth and so on.  I just recently performed a star-57 on my Comcast line to trace the call.  I have not as of yet reported this call to the FTC.  The call just did not sound like a typical political call to me.  Also, my homephone number is on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

ID says Dinwiddie. Calls back a couple of times if I don't answer. So I answered... nothing for a few seconds, then I hung up.

The same thing happnede to e!  the caller called.  The phone rang multiple times.  I answered.  There was no respose or acknowledgement from the caller, so I ble a whistel in the the receiver a couple of times and hung up.  I am plagued by crank calls on a daily baisis.  I don't alwys blow a whistel into the tlehone, but I keep a whislte neraby one of my tlehones just in case certain nuissance callers conitnue to call me.  I also reproted this caller to FTC.gov.

Left a message and asked me to press 1 if I was willing to do door-to-door political campaigning.

Another caller I can block with my Digitone. The do not call list is for people that think it actually works.

George Allen calling wanting a vote in tomorrow's primary in Virginia.  Left a recorded message; didn't answer.

George Allen, running for senate in VA, left a recorded message....he's nothing but a big-mouthed bully.

Same as reported by other before me. Call with no one at other end. Eventually line went dead. What a waste of my time!

God help us!  As numerous offices are up for election this year, we can expect to be continually harassed from now until November by these callers soliciting campaign contributions and with their idiotic messages clogging up our answering machines. Unfortunately, political callers are exempt from the Do Not Call regulations and they get our numbers and addresses from the registered voters lists.  If our Congressman get enough irate letters from everyone out there, maybe they will pass legislation to stop all of these annoying and harassing calls, whether political, non-profit, survey (ill-disguised telemarketing), robocalls, etc., etc. The situation with unwanted ncalls is totally out of control and has to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I get calls starting at 7;30 AM!!!!  We also need legislation proscribing the use of phony numbers, Unavailable, Private, Out of Area, Unknown, etc.  If you are going to call someone,then you should be required to clearly identify who it is on your caller Id, and it should be a legally assigned telephone number (not some phony number created through computer software, such as 888-888-8888 or 000-000-0000).

Caller was from the Republican Party of Virginia, although it was odd - the person speaking and the script they read was Democrat in nature (trying to protect budgets for various key public union groups).

Did not answer the first call but caller ID said it was "Unknown."  "Unknown" called back 2 minutes later since I apparently confused the robo caller, did not answer again.  Scenario repeated again 5 minutes later, but I turned the ringer off so they can keep calling as long as they want -- the game is on!  They waited 5 minutes and recalled--same scenario.  I don't have to answer my phone but apparently they have to keep making the calls--so just knock yourself out, idiots.
