I got a call from that same number today.
Damon 2011-06-06 20:59:15 Unknown
That number belongs to FIA card services. A collection agency located nationwide I believe but their headquarters are in Virginia.
Sue 2011-06-06 20:59:15 Unknown
They keep asking for a person not at my phone number
mike 2011-06-06 20:59:15 Unknown
We get them to all the time. When don't answer, we get a loud busy-signal-like sound on the machine. So...what do we do about it?
MCD 2011-06-06 20:59:15 Unknown
Didn't actually pick up this one, as I have had dealings with a scam caller from a 'company' calling itself Card Services.

I just recieved a call from this number.... I only got a recorded message to "hold on for a Representatvie Assitant. That message was repeated 6 times and then I hung up.... when I picked upthe phone the message was still going on.............
I hung up again and waited 30 seconds and it still was going..
Then Ihung up again for over a minute and got a dial tone. I did a *69 and got the number. I tried to call so I could tell whomever it was to not call again.... all I got was the same recorded message that I got when they called us

I got a call today from them. I use Bank of America, but they called my business line, which is a brand new line. I called them back, told them the number they tried to call, and they said it must have been a wrong number, and apologized for bothering me.
After all the other posts I read, I was expecting to argue with them, but it turned out to be a rather pleasant conversation.
Of course, I didn't give any personal info. Just my first name. They said they were bank of america, but I have no proof of it. But, they were really nice, and apologized for calling me, so I had nothing to make me think they were not BoA.
FYI: Like most other banks, bank of america will settle the account for less. But be aware that the amount they take off your bill is considered "income" according to the IRS, and you have to claim it on your taxes. Also, it goes on your credit report. It happened to me with Chase. I settled for 1/2 the bill, and then at tax time got something similar to a 1099 (forgot what it was called). Later that year, when I checked my credit report, it showed up on there.

Thanks for the heads up. I called Bank of America and asked if they were trying to reach me (I do have accounts with them).
They are calling a cell phone number and don't leave a message.

They never leave a message. How rediculous. They sure know how to get our tax money to bail them out. I wish congress would have let the bankers go broke so that they would have had to answer to the PEOPLE that pay them for once........
Nick C 2010-02-06 17:11:11 Unknown
If you threaten legal action they will more than likely stop any calls.
IE: If you call me again, I'm contacting the Authorities and my lawyer!!!!
This person doesn't live here and you're herrassing me.

Bank Of America/Card Services do not care if there is an arrangement. I entered a plan with them and they screwed it up for 1 year I argued with them over past due and after awhile I just stopped answering. Recently they fixed that problem on my account but screwed up another payment. I have a payment scheduled with them on their website for the payment that got lost in the shuffle and I told them on phone when it would be but they still call several times a day...yeah cause that makes me want to find a way to pay them faster...O.o Any how even if you don't have BoAm account people card services represents many different credit cards and bank loans. I have a list of about 12 different numbers for them not counting all the unknown number calls.
866-635-4316, 954-473-7001, 804-515-2940, 626-666-6754, 469-201-4312, 814-234-7699, 757-823-6827, 410-229-6116, 804-515-2940, 336-805-8945, 336-805-8946, 201-252-5428
Now I cannot say positive that all the numbers are them but they are the only ones I was having an issue with at the time of the calls, but some of those numbers I never answered.

This number called me today and asked for John and there is no John here nor has there been for at least 20 years because I have had my number for longer than that. The caller was very rude and persistent about finding John.

Bank of America Card Services. They are the only credit card company I know of that leaves a message, so they're the only ones I call back.
(804) 515-xxxx will most likely be a BoA Card Services number.
Matt in LA 2009-09-01 18:28:25 Unknown
The call comes in. I answer. A recorded message says "a customer service representative will be with you shortly." I hang up. they call back repeatedly. I answer. Same recorded message. I wait, and wait and nothing. I'm on hold for a prolonged period of time from an incoming call from a machine. I want these people to die in a tragic accident. All of them. And I hope it's terribly painful.
Sue 2009-08-22 02:41:54 Unknown
I was left a message by this number that said "I've won thank you" When I called it back I got some thing for card services from Bank of America. I'm not sure how they got my unlisted number or why they are even calling me seeing as how I have no affiliation with the company

I am in Bank Of America, but they keep calling for a person named Phillip. I'm freakin' 15 yrs old. I don't even have an ATM Card, my dad does that for me still.
bonbon 2009-07-09 20:22:20 Unknown
I just started getting these calls today. I have a BoA card, but my bill is current. I never answered the phone because I work in a busy medical office so I don't always have a chance to answer incoming calls. It's starting to be an annoyance.
LEEANNE 2009-07-09 15:03:34 Unknown
idiots keep calling cell phones isnt that illegal? I say call the atty generals office and make a complaint if they mail a letter then call something seems odd

We are a business not a private individual but this number keeps calling and hanging up. As the person who answers the phone, this is very annoying.

Answered call that came from this number and there was no one on the line.
Bigbird 2009-05-12 22:26:35 Unknown
I just got a call a little while ago and didn't answer. I don't have any credit cards and never have had a BoA card. Problem is, people give out this number which I have had for 5 years or so and though these calls have died down considerably compared to when I first got the number, one of the people I have been getting calls for for the entire 5 yrs.!!
annonandmouse 2009-04-07 16:58:49 Unknown
Ok... So I used to get calls from this # as well as others all the time. Then I set up payments...and the calls kept coming. I asked to speak to a supervisor and then asked the supervisor to please have my # removed from all autodialers. It took 24 hours for the system to remove my #, but it worked!
misf 2009-03-24 18:32:13 Unknown
thank you missyB for that bit of information. I was about to return call and decided to check the number out. I will not even answer this call.
Thank you all who always provide information.

Best advice: Don't pay your card balance.
Bank of Amercia will settle for less than pennys on the dollar!
After major expenses from medical problems they raised my interest rate to 23% making it impossible to pay. Now is the time to make a deal, tell them to kiss your @#@&%$ and wait for them to offer a settlement, it saved me over $ 23,000.!!
Jonny 2009-02-13 15:21:51 Unknown
This is NOT Bank of America. Please remember that. And it may or may not be crackhead collections working on contract on behalf of various "card services" because they are clearly bizarre, rude, often working off of outdated database, and often ask for way too personal information they should have. But if they are contractors, they won't have personal information. Which leads me to believe that they may be phishing for information using outdated database of information. If it is your bank card services and it is urgent, you will get a corporate snail mailed letter from them. Not a crackhead morons calling you day in and day out.
