Maybe you can't find a job since your looking for "SECPNDARY TREACHING POSTIONS." Never hear of those...
Perhaps you should consider some elementary English classes.

I've started receiving calls from this number, and they've left messages confirming the other posts about it being VCU, concerning something about alumni. Thing is, not only did I not attend VCU, but skipped college all together! I have no idea how they got my number or why they're calling!

All they want is to get you to join the alumni association.
Carol I have to agree with David - there are all sorts of reasons why people don't make it as teachers - I'd look a little closer to home if I were you.
Have you tried to get a teaching job in an inner city school mired in poverty? Have you applied to teach in church run schools that pay really low wages?
If you look around at your next MENSA meeting you will, in all likelihood, see an awful lot of people who stumbled along their career paths.
A high IQ is a high IQ - In most settings that isn't even remotely what it takes to get ahead.

I've been getting calls from this number almost daily for the past month and a half. I keep telling myself that if it is important they will leave a message and they never have. What is wrong with people? What makes them think I'll pick up now?

You have a college degree and still type like that? I'd feel worse about my own degree from VCU except I took it from the school of engineering.

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER THIS EVENING AROUND 7 P.M. SUPPOSEDLY COMING FROM VCU REGARDING ALUMNI RESEARCH. I HOLD ONE MASTER'S DEGREE AND ADDITONAL GRADUATE WORK FROM VCU. THE CALLER'S BACKGROUND WAS VERY NOISY AND I FOUND MYSLEF UNABLE TO HEAR ADEQUATELY TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS, SO I SUGGESTED THAT THE CALLER SEND ME A LETTER TO MY HOME ADDRESS AND I WOULD TRY TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS FROM THE LETTER. I AM AN UNEMPLOYED GRDAUATE OF THE VCU M.ED. PROGRAM WITH EDORSEMENTS TO TEACH BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, GENERAL SCECCNE AND PSYCHOLOGY AT THE SECODNARY LEVEL. I NEVER HELD A SECONDARY LEVEL SCIENCE TEACHING POSTION ALHTOUGH I HAVE LOOKED FOR SECPNDARY TREACHING POSTIONS FOR THE PAST 26 YEARS. I LEFT THE FIELD OF MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY TO BECOME A HIGH SCHOOL SCICNE TEACHER AND NEVER BECAME ONE AFTER SCORING IN THE 95TH PERCENTILE ON THE NTE IN BIOLOGY AND GENERAL SCIECNE TEST IN 1986. I ALSO OBTAINED A SECOND M.ED FROM U.VA. I HAVE REMAINED UNEMPLOYED FOR THE PAST 26 YEARS. I NOW VOLUNTEER TIME AS A MENSA IQ TEST PROCTOR. I WOULD PREFER TO HAVE A JOB. SOMETHING VERY DEFINTIELY IS WRONG WITH NOT ONLY TEACHER HIRING BUT TEACHER EDUCATION. IN MY OPINION ALL TEACHER EDUCATION PRGRAMS ARE OVER-SUBSCRIBED. HOWEVER, I CANNOT TELL YOU WHETHER OR NOT THE SURVEY WAS LEGIT. AFTER I RECEIVE SOMETHING IN THE MAIL, I WILL KNOW FOR SURE. I HAVE BEEN AN ADJUNCT LAB INSTRUCTOR THREE TIMES IN THE PAST. AT PRESENT, I JAVE BEEN UNABLE TO TEACH AT ANY LEVEL OR RETURN TO THE MEDICAL LABORATORY..
