These people called me March 15, 7:35 PM EDT. I wasn't home, but saw the number on my call id. They didn't leave a message, but since I didn't recognize the number, I decided to do a search and found this blog. I once got caught up in the whole payday loan mess, so these people have my home number, but they no longer have my bank info. I changed all of that. Thought these people had stopped calling me, but every so often, they start again, calling my house, my cell, and my job. They leave weird messages with that strange Indian accent. My husband once picked up one of their calls, told the guy they were a bunch of crooks and scammers, and the guy cursed at my husband!! I don't answer any calls anymore from people I don't know. If you're legit, you'll leave me a legit message with a valid company name. Don't just call me and tell me that you "got something in your office and you must call us right away to resolve it," or "if you don't call us back right away we can't help what will happen to you next." These scammers are getting RIDICULOUS!!

i was getting calls every day for two weeks by some.indian person saying hr worked.for a lawfirm and asked.if i had ever had a problem w yaz birth control...i kept telling them no,leave me alone...soon enough, this person hacked.into my contacts and called me from my sisters name...strange enough,i screamed at him and asked how he is calling from my sisters number..today,a california number(this 805 one),its the dame guy telling me im in big trouble cuz my phone has been used to make terrorist threats in afghanistan...i hung up and called the number back where a lady answered and then the man grabbed the phone from her and said,"is this lee lee?"i said yes,he said i had failed to make psyment on a 300$ Lone I had taken out in 2010., and there is a warrant out for my arrest and they will be at my address which she stated to me very clearly tomorrow... I call the police station in my city and filed a complaint.. I was very nervous all day and putting chairs up against my door. I have a husband and a small child and I don't need this harassment.

I have been called consistently every 20 minutes by this sick vile person since 5:30 this morning. from several different phone numbers all are listed below. I told him that I have reported all the numbers and I also stated that I am recording the phone calls. Just got as call from this number asking for me and then confirming my last name and started reading my address and I told them i had turned them into the cops and this is a scam.
| Crazy man 2012-12-18 20:34:59 Unknown |
I just hung up with them as well. He told me officers would be at my address (which he gave me in full) and I said to him bring it. I quoted my favorite Rambo movie. If they are coming dont forget to have them bring something. He said whats that. I replied "a good supply of body bags" i then laughed Manically and hung up. They are supposed to be at my address (which I no longer live at) at 1300. I am going to call him back and tell him he needs to send more officers.... :)

i applied for a personal loan a few weeks ago to help out with holiday expenses. i recieved a call today from 805-876-5159 offering me a loan up to $1500. the man had a thick indian accent and after he confirmed all my information he proceeded to tell me that i needed to purchase a moneypak from walmart in the amount of $49.99 for a "processing fee" and that upon completion the loan would be in my account within 3 hours. after reading this forum i called the man back only to be greeted by a recording saying "the magic jack customer you are trying to reach is unavalible at the time" shortly after he called me right back (which i found odd seeing as how less then a minute prior i got a recording) i informed him that i was aware of his scam and to remove my information. i will be calling the bank to day as well to insure they do not hack my account.

The other numbers are coming From a different country code. So i also found out that it might be some union or a big scam going on. Very tricky and confusing to solve on how this works but i am amazed that they still sustain and run there fraud operations. Maybe more than 1 or 2 countries are participating in this, i would not term it as countries but rather i would say same group of people in different countries.

So far i have received only these many numbers but i am working on it to get more numbers. Be safe if some one calls you, and i also found out that these callers have been using some sort of soft phone to call and some channels to skip minutes so it becomes very difficult to trace. The Fbi should take necessary measures for us. But in the mean time this is all i can contribute.

They FBI is calling this an "extortion" scam related to people who applied for payday loans.
Apparently the FBI is working on this and the direct link on their website to the "payday loan scam" is http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710/
The FBI is investigating this because their is a front man living here in America (who is from India) - The money initially goes to him in his American account and then he feeds the money to his phone support "operators" who are located in India.
ABC News link:
http://gma.yahoo.com/phantom-debt-collectors- ... topstories.html
Report them to the FBI because every voice counts and there has been lawsuits filed against the indian guy who is living here in America.
To file with the FBI: https://tips.fbi.gov/
To file with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
They're still working on this case, but since the front man lives here in America and ABC went to his house and all the money initially goes to his account, this might be just the loophole that the FBI will need to get these folks stopped
Apparantly they've called well over 600,000 people and have made well over 5 million dollars from their scam. We need to stop them and since the front man resides in America, the victims should file a class action suit against this man and get back their money.
Some of the numbers they've used are:
213-289-3789
213-289-4422
323-570-4065
540 650 7602
585-641-4422
707-666-9613
7602694173
805-876-5159
814 326 9205

I just got off the phone and felt like they were hassling me and threatening me like they were pressuring me. I was trying to figure out how to get them 700, they say I owe 700 and I don't have that kind of money right now but they're saying that the cops are coming to get me if I don't give them my credit card info. My sister asked me why are the cops calling me from another state. Then my sister googled this number and low and behold this was a scam phone call. I was about to pee my pants cause I've never been to jail and have too much things to deal with and can't afford to physically go anywhere. Thanks for your scam warning. This is a load off because I thought they were really calling me from a legitimate place.
| Terry 2012-07-25 16:46:49 Unknown |
Yeah Amy, they're using all different kinds of number. I got a email yesterday cause i got my number changed and they dont have my new number but on the email it stated i owe 795.00 for a loan and that i was going to jail but the f****d up part about these b*****ds had all my infomation so they hacking into something where they're able to get people's infomation. But the number that was on the email the number was a Las Vegas number but when i called him private he told me they're located in Rochester, NY. I wish the federal government or fbi can bust this organization because this is really out of hand.

Now they're calling me from a new number, 805-876-5159. When I picked up the phone and said "Hello" they instantly said "I'm calling to speak with Amy xxx(my last name)." Then I confirmed my name is Amy. Then they instantly went on to claim "I'm calling because I'm an officer of the law". I stated "ok, how may I help you". Then he stated with his heavy indian accent that he is an "officer of the law and works on behalf of a law firm". I instantly interrupted him and stated that "an officer of the law works at the police department & the FBI. Officers of the law don't work at law offices making phone calls to people about debts that they owe". Then he said "Excuse me". I repeated myself and stated once again, "an officer of the law doesn't work at law firms personally making phone calls to people who may or may not owe a debt, A officer of the law works at police departments or FBI offices" Then this guy with a heavy indian accent instantly hung up on me, lol! This is crazy. They are such scam artists and liars. I guess they must've got wind of it after all the reports I filed against their other number being "707-666-9613" I originally called Telekenex & then filed with the phone company their with, I filed with the FTC & I filed with the FBI.gov. - I called to check on the FBI report and apparently these folks in India have been going around doing this with other phone numbers scamming people. To submit a complaint/tip to the FBI about these fraudsters go to https://tips.fbi.gov/ and when you file your report online and be descriptive about what occurred between you and the scammer who called you.
Apparently the FBI is working on this and the direct link on their website to the "payday loan scam" is http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710/
If you want to call their field office is in DC at (202) 324-3691
They are calling this an extortion scam related to people who applied for payday loans.
Report any calls you get to the FBI because, although the us government can't "stop" them, with enough reports they can do more eventually and can work with other goverments to work toward eventually getting an effective resolution in place.
