I answered, they just said "hi" and hung up.

They are spoofing the number. Meaning this number shows up on caller id, but they are calling from a diffrent number. That is why the disconnect message.

that happened to me too!

This guy called, said I'm sorry and then hung up. And when I called the number back it said the number was out of service.

Picked up the call and got a pre-recorded message about some kind of home alarm system "give-away".

i got a call from this number 810-715-8401 dude came on askin if i was payin to much for my house or loans when i aint got none of them i told him i was goin to cops he hang up very fast he sound scared if anybody get this call tell them u goin to cops if they dont stop i called the number back it said it was none working number

Got a call and the guy said I'm sorry and hung up. When I called back i got a disconnection recording

They left a message on my cellphone - and I don't give that number out. The message from a perky little gal said she was Lisa Middleton and we spoke last week about lowering interest rates. We didn't. I don't need that and I deleted the message at that point.

Pretty much same as john here, was going to class, got the call, someone said hi but then I got disconnected. I thought it was the poor service in the building but it sounds like thats as far as anyone gets.

Got a call from this number. No answer, maybe a vague grunting noise after several "hellos" from me, then a hang-up.

i got a call from it before going into my accounting class and they said hi john as if it was  some oen who knew me then i lost signal. i tried calling back after class because i know ppl with the area code and i got the message saying that the number is disconnected and no longer in service. So this is totally a scam number probably wanting basic information so they can steal identities

I answered this to find an automated message telling me about how my family and I had won a home security system free trial or some totally scamming bu***hit like that. I stopped listening and went to the internet to see wtf that was all about.

Got a call from this and let it go to voice mail since it was an unfamiliar number from an unfamiliar area code. They left a voice mail claiming we'd "talked on the phone last week about lowering my interest rates". Apparently a credit counselling scam service.
