This is a number used by the US Government. In my case it was USCIS. They are not allowed to leave messages so if you don't answer they won't talk.

Somebody call me from that number and ask me personal information and they say he was from the inmigration office.

It began this morning at 9 AM. So far two calls, the one at 9 and another one at 10 AM. Last time I had a situation like this one in which a number with just the area code and a bunch of zeros began to call day and night I contacted Comcast about the harrassing calls and they stopped. I will wait for a while and if the calls continue I will contact COMCAST about it. By the way, I am about to drop my home phone service because of the number of calls I receive from these unknown people on daily basis. The fact that I am on the DNC list and that I file almost daily complaints with tha FTC does not help. The "credit card services" and others keep on calling on daily basis.

I just got a call from this number.  Picked it up and it sounded like someone was there, but no answer to multiple "Hello"s.  I shouted to put me on their do not call list, but sounds from this blog like I have a long week ahead of me.  I work from a home office, but my 2-line desk phone also rings when someone calls my home # (rare-friends text or call my cell).  So, this is not OK.

I've contacted the CO state attorney general so STOP CALLING !!!

There was a lady on the other line this time. She ask for me by name. When I asked who she was she whould not say unless I verified it was me. I told her tell me who you are and I'll decide if I want to talk to you. She just hung up on me. Now I just block there number.

I have received 5 calls from this # today. Once I picked up the phone and could not understand what the woman was saying. I finally blocked the number directly with Verizon. I believe that it is politically related due to the upcoming election runoffs.

I am so angry about these calls... It is only 1:15 PM and I've received 5 so far.

I live in Citrus County...They finally answered when I answered. It's for Republican candidates here.

Answering machine picked up, and didn't leave a message. It is likely sourced from some company that contracts out call center services (e.g. when you call technical support, or, when someone or a company wants telemarketing or political ad messages to go out via phone).

There needs to be a federal law that abolishes sending fake caller ID numbers over the public voice network (which is what is happening with this number). Contact your US Representatives and Congresspersons and raise a stink, and demand that a federal law be made to stop anyone from spoofing a phone number to the public phone network!!!

I am a telco network tech.  there is no such thing as a real call from 813-000-0000  This is what is called spoofing.  The caller is masking (or hiding) their real phone number.  Often is is a company just validating your phone number is still in service, which is why its just dead air.  These companies sell phone number lists, so if they have your name, address, and phone number from an order for something (curses to the tv ads), and they have verified your phone number works...it is worth money to them.   Often robo-dialers just call every single number in an area code/prefix to play one of their darn recordings.   The only defense...if you have caller ID, don't answer
these calls.

Calls and hangs up. should be sent to jail for harrassment. personally would like to get hands around neck and you can guess the rest.

They called me at work.  How did they get the number?

I just put a comment but I listed the incorrect phone #  I typed 814  but it was actually came from 813!  I want to add I never answer "Unkown or Unavailable # calls"  The Dickens with them all!

This is not the first time I received a call from 813 000 0000. I am wise to it all and I do not answer.  When I try to call back all I get is "Your number can not be complete as dialed"  Screw them all!

813-000-0000, was receiving calls with a message from "People for a better florida fund,  inc.. These A$$H... are eating up my cell minutes with their trash.  Tracked it back to a local tampa Address and name - William Butler, 5206 Bayshore Blvd, Tampa (Public info at Sunbiz.com)  Put him on your drunk dialing list - his number is 813-831-3362   I'm sure he wants your call at around 4AM

I agree with above comments.  I am so tired of answering my phone or being disturbed by it when my spouse is sleeping that I am ready to rip it out.  The national do not call registry put back in the capability for charities, politicians and local gov't to call as they complained they could not get funding unless they had access to our info.  What happened to our rights?  THIS IS MY TELEPHONE FOR WHICH I AM PAYING THE BILL - NO ONE ELSE!!  There has to be a way to block these very annoying calls.  Where is our "spam" filter.

The number 813-000-0000 has called my residence for the past three days at least every 2 hours. We are really tired of this.  We are on the National Do Not Call list to block telemarketers.  It is abuse and harassment to continuously call someone and not leave a message or say something...and calling every two hours.  We can't get any sleep!  We want them to leave us alone!
