Today MAF at this phone number 8132737802 called for the guardian or parents of so and so on a recorded message. Press 1 if you are this guardian of so and so press 2 if you are not.  Then I looked on pone, the number is 18007497710.  I looked them up.  I cannot understand why they keep calling under different names for different people.  I've asked them for a letter in writing and they never send one to me.  How can I legally do something about it without a letter on a piece of paper?  No proof.

They are fraudulently trying to persuade our company to pay a bill that we never owed. We can put a man on the friggin moon, but cannot put a stop to people trying to fraudulently collect money??!! I suppose the government is much too busy trying to figure out how they can screw us over even more, rather than catching the thieves like MAF. Pitiful, just plain sad.

They called me up and refused to tell me what they want until I give them my personal info.
The rude a** man said "I won't risk my job by giving out information to you when you won't give
me your information" and I replied and I won't risk my life by giving a stranger on the phone my
information, goodbye"
It seems his job is worth more than my life. Do not trust these people!!

Don't "settle" a debt - unless you get a notarized letter from these bloodhounds stating that they will show it on your credit report as "paid in full." Otherwise, it shows up as "settled in full." Settled in full shows other possible loaners that they did not get their money in full, which means that the new loaner probably won't either.

As a matter of fact - tell them all to "get in line." Better yet, don't talk to them at all. Simply say they have the wrong number, even if you've already told them you are who they are looking for. Change your phone number if you have to. The only thing they can do is garnish your wages - after taking you to court. If you don't show up they will most likely get a judgment against you- and can garnish your wages. If you show up, you'll be ordered to pay a certain amount anyhow.

Personally, if the bill is under $10,000 it's not worth showing up unless they know where you work. That's it. If they don't, they have to find out where you work. I don't feel sorry for any of them. Products today are way over-priced & there is too much greed on the sellers side to worry about having to pay for overpriced products, fees, penalties, ect. That's why there's a law called "bankruptcy" and Chapter 11. This protects you from these types of businesses. Remember, they are just businesses - they are not people. They are business entities. In no way are they considered "people."

I've seen too many of these scroungehounds do illegal things to borrowers. That's why it's best to pay in cash & keep several credit cards with low amounts - that way they can't charge your credit card - and it also keeps you from running up credit cards with high limits that you can't afford anyhow - which, by the way, are pushed onto you by the business - in greed.

Remember, they don't care about you at all - and if you could sell your firstborn to pay them back, they would certainly go to a judge & order you to do that - if they could. God Bless America!

Umm, Linniex, how about getting a real job & quit making stupid comments, and get a real high school diploma - instead of working for a low life scum agency? These places tack on usury fees & hound citizens relentlessly when the real seller can't collect for their overpriced crap & turns them in - after the customer realizes they've been conned.

813 273-7802 calls my two numbers every day.  The robo call recording Is blank when it gets to the part that would name the individual the call is about.  If you answer the call, no one responds.   I have no unpaid debts and never have, so they would have no issue.  Their system is out of control.  I have notified them via their website listed by a client on this website below.

Funny, when I blocked 813 273-7802 the began calling with 1-813-273-7802.   It's a war.

With all the complaints, why hasn't our FCC shut this down?

The caller makes periodic calls to my number which is on both the FL and National DO NOT CALL REGISTRIES.  If I answer, there is no response.  If I don't answer, there is no message left.  Another aggravating phone scam or fraud or marketing scheme gone wild.

Yes, they do get you're number by accident! My husband got a new cell phone a few months ago, and is being harrassed because they don't seem to believe that we are NOT who they are looking for. ALSO, a few years back some guy was shot, taken to the hospital and gave them my Step-son's ID!!! Needless to say, we were totally flipping out the next day when we opened the paper to see our son (Who was living out of town) was shot!!  I have spent 6 months trying to straighten this out, UNTIL the bill collectors started getting nasty, and I have NO clue how they  got MY number. I have  given up, a now laugh at them & hang up when they call.

I got a call from this number and the second I picked up the guy said that this call was being recorded. I really don't like that so I said that I wasn't home. I don't talk to people recording me when I don't know who the hell they are. He said that he needed me to call him back at this number and ask for James Perry. Reading through all the previous comments I know who it is now. It is a collector for medical bills. I had gone to the hospital a couple months back and am still not able to pay. So there you go... it a collection agency and one of the people there must be named James Perry. Good luck everyone.

That isn't true. I had a "friend" give out my number as if it was hers so that bill collectors could call me instead of her. Not a friend anymore, but how do I prove to someone on the phone I am not the person they are looking for? They hear it all the time and they will continue to call using new numbers. Also, when you get a new cell number that has been recycled. OR just a clerical error. A wrong number is super easy to get. And if someone decides to just put down a random number the bill collectors will call you and there is very little you can do about that.

Just because someone states that they actually called the place or actually answered the phone when the "unknown" number came up doesn't necessarily mean they work for the collection agency.  I find it truly funny that some people get so defensive as soon as someone makes a comment about maybe calling them back to find out who it is and maybe find out the reason they are calling your number.  They wouldn't have your phone number if you didn't owe a bill of some kind.  And guess what-I don't work for them, I do owe a hospital bill for my child.  So instead of disregarding them and having this bill end up on my credit for the next 7 years, I'm going to make arrangments to pay them off.  Debt collectors just don't get your name and number by accident.

they called trying to verfiy if I were the person they needed to collect on. They wanted my SS# which I will never give over the phone, my home address and all my phone numbers. I told them if i had an out standing dept to fax me or email me the information and was told they could not do that, but that I could pay by credit card to close it out. I told them unless I see a bill or statement as to what I owe they will not get a dime from me. And futher more I will give my attorney thier number so that he can handel this. Since then they have called me with different numbers..800-888-2238, 410-822-1400,407-677-4410, 866-316-9222 even 000-000-0000 how stupid is that?? and I have not yet received a bill from them. its' been 4months..

They called me telling me they were a collections agency from my electric company. My previous electric bill had been at a zero balance from 11/3/11. I had to ask what this was about... they new my phone number, home address and name. Said they mailed many letters for collections, which my address was a my parents and they have not received anything. Asked me to send them a copy of the cleared check, or give them the bank information and they would find the payment. He said can I get to you to do that. I said know I dont know you and I am not sending personal information to you, I will take it up with the utility company. He said ok have a good day. For Real SCAM!!!!
