***** SCAM ALERT *****
This is a sophisticated telemarketing scam. The phone number is NOT a real number. It is an internet telephony number created by a computer which FAKES your caller ID. These people get a lot of money and information from you. Then you never hear from them again. I've already researched this online and called the flipping phone number! FAKE SCAM LIARS FRAUDS!
***** SCAM ALERT *****

My wife got four calls today from a male, with one of the call having a Calif. cell phone number, who was driving towards our home he said to deliver a check. couldn't understand him, I feel this same caller had called over a year ago trying to pull a scam.
Do these callers think we are dumb or something for the caller sure is.

This is Barbizon. They run a network of classes for young ladies and teach them the basics of walking a runway, modeling, and presenting themselves well.
If you understand that neither you nor your daughter will get famous and rich by going with Barbizon, you'll do fine. The cost of their courses is a bit high but, for my daughter, it was a good experience.
They make no guarantees and for good reason: they don't do anything to help your child get into the business. They will tell you (repeatedly) that if your daughter signs up for this or that event that there MAY be people from various agencies there, but there never were (in my experience). They offer scholarships, but the scholarships are for their events, and are partial, so even if you get a scholarship you will be out money.
The local events we attended (Virginia Beach, VA and Richmond, VA) were poorly organized and done as cheaply as possible. At the first one we attended, I saw one of the organizers try to scam the hotel in allowing them to use a room they did not contract for. Obvious to me that they had contracted for less space than they needed hoping they could tell the hotel "you aren't using that room anyway and we had more response than we expected." The hotel did not fall for it and so we got squeezed into a too-small room.
If your daughter signs up with Barbizon, you will get calls for many, many years afterwards. I just let them ring.
Barbizon talks a good game about training your daughter and getting her exposure, but they are most interested in profit. Once Barbizon gets money from you, they will provide the training they promised but you will not get call backs from agencies. You will get call backs from Barbizon-related people who will sell you pictures and promises of contact with agencies, but that will not happen either.
Be adivsed, be careful, and understand Barbizon will NOT help you make your child famous.

Just call the number back and ask (demand) to be put on a Do Not Call List - if they call after that, they can be charged and it will cost them a whole lotta dough for a stupid phone call.
linda 2011-06-06 20:59:24 Unknown
never signed up for anything...barbizon is worthless and for pathetic losers they're just taking your money..if you have a subscription to any teen magazine they'll call you

Barbizon Modeling and Acting school. "Bianca" called for my 16 yr old son and said she had heard he might be interested in modeling or acting. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's a simple go down the mailing list and call scam. Yes, surely if you wish to pay $1600 for modeling school, then by all means. My son also gets things from People to People Ambassadors program and tons of colleges all from mailing lists.

What a crock of s***....these coocoos called my cell phone, thinking I was my daughter....I politely told them I was not interested....and for the woman who has spoken highly of this unknown company...PLEASE stop answering your posts...you look like a moron without much collateral.....all this is , is a scam to sucker young women into thinking they can become actresses, models, etc....these young women can be anything they want to be....and look down Hollywood Blvd at night, and see the HIGH failure rate of these so called actresses & models.....that's reality of which this so called 'Modeling Agency' will not tell you.....Ladies....time waits for no one...so do well in high school, get to college, and live out your dreams....you can put that 1600.00 to better use than wishing upon a star....And you can tell everyone that Your Mother gave you this sound advice....toodles! =)

I just got this other number for Regan 1 (727) 433-0757 who is the person who try to set up an audition for my daugther and when I ask to get me out of the call list she just hung off the phone, so these people if they dont get what they want they are rude with you, talking about ethics makes me laugh.
Gladys 2010-05-13 22:49:11 Unknown
Big time scam and waste of time...rude people when you ask to get you out of their list and very hard to obtain information from them.
They call about dinner time and ruined my family time and caused an argument with my teen, my advise do not unswer that phone.

I just got a phone call from them it seems suspicious, I will let u know.
not Michael 2010-05-02 23:05:40 Unknown
Definately, you shouldn't go. If you do go leave your ATM card, credit card, check book, an all other big money at home. Just bring $20 - enough to buy gas for the drive home. Do not sign anything.

I got a call from this number one day. I got really excited... they told me to come for an interview/audition...I've wanted to act for a while now but I don't want to pay anything and from what everyone else is saying it's costs a lot and ends up as a scam....maybe i shouldn't go... ?
