Just got a call sayin my husband an his ss# are linked to a lawsuit an to have out attorney call him back.. I deleted if it was a lawsuit we would get papers.

SAME. EXACT. THING. Cash Advance America? 813-315-3640? -_- I've filed a complaint and also called them back to let them know. Now all of a sudden the guy on the phone just stated, "Ok" then hung up on me. I called back and he now hangs up immediately. I hope whoever it is gets arrested trying to extort people who've done nothing or not even affiliated with their freakin' cause. Imbeciles.

Got the same call, but it was a man the first with a different number and then today a woman from the samd number mentioned above saying my social security number was under investigation. Both had very thi,k Indian accents.

I received a phone call from this same number and the same thick accent - he has even called my job and left a voice message stating that this is a legal matter and about some investigation going on. My husband had taken the message yesterday and was concerned about the call.  I will do what Alfalfa has suggested.  Who needs this nonsense!

just received the same call.  telling me to have my attorney call--my daughter is an attorney!!!!  am reporting and calling to tell them to bug off.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Just received a call from this number, and Michael Davis (yah right) with his accent he is not a Michael Davis.  When ask what this call pertained to he said that he worked for a legal company and for lack of payment.  I informed him that I had already read up on this and that it was a scam and not going to fall for this one.

I just got a chance to answer this call i told them i know they are a scam and they tried the same thing on  me saying a investigation with the deep indian accent. what can we do about this anyone know?

indian accent, made inquiry about a "legal lawsuit"; man is difficult to understand due to thick accent- indian or pakistani.  Don't know how he got my phone number either.

is a person claiming that they are doing some sort of an investigation, that they need me to provide info.  but when asked  what kind of investigation they  do not reply... same 3640# 3 times , same guy on the phone, indian accent,  3 different  names /titles... is a sham.
