I represent and filed a law suit against a defendant.  Emerge180 apparently searches court filings for newly filed actions.  The defendant called me and said Emerge180, would for a fee of $250.00, settle the claim for fifty cents on the dollar.  Emerge180 never contacted me or my client.  Basically Emerge180 is charging $250.00 to make cold call.  Since they are not defendant's legal counsel in a pending litigation I would be ethically bound not to discuss the matter with them.  

I would recommend that every defendant make the call themselves or if represented have their attorney make the call.

Just received a call from Janet from Emerge regarding a pending civil matter.  In her voice mail, she insisted her company desperately wants to help us. What a joke!  I hope people don't actually fall for this stuff and call them back.  A dishonest business practice from an obviously dishonest company.

SCAM ALERT!!!  "Ashley" had called our government contract office and informed an employee that they wanted to talk to our company president to manage our bankruptcy.  Nothing could be farther from the truth and now we are faced with months of trying to put down rumors or our companies demise and concerns by our client that we won?t be in business tomorrow.  This company should be sued for torturous interference.  How do you live with yourself Jonathan Field - you con artist?

Received a silly call today from 813-280-0480.. This is another Emerge phone number. Absolutely ridiculous.  Called about a "civil matter" that does not exist. Avoid this garbage call.

I will also post. I own a small business and am in Executive suites. I just received a message from the receptionist saying Emerge 180 called and that I needed to discuss" a lawsuit filed against me in court that needs my immediate attention". This should never be disclosed and wouldn't be by a LEGITIMATE compay. I called the number back and the person there refused to let me talk to his supervisor unless I told him why. He then said "she" was busy. Then said "he" was on the phone. He then hung up on me when I said I would hold. I Marty will report this conduct to BBB and see if we can't effect that "A" rating.

This is a complete and utter attempt to scam your business or up sell something. I would NOT talk to anyone at this company...if your interested in settling a lawsuit with me than put it in writing. Calling ppl and saying it's a legal matter is intentionally deceitful. BTW the BBB is merely an non-profit organization that business pay to have their logo on their websites and to try to resolve complaints.  Each company gets it's rating based on how long they have been in business, if they are a paying BBB member, and responses to complaints.  It does not legitimize a business.  If you are not a member then you automatically score a lower rating...imagine that! So if I pay the annual fee I am already a step ahead of the game...I think it's humorous that the President has taken to blog sites in an effort to defend himself...I think if your company had been ethical to start with you would save yourself alot of time and money.

Thank you for your note.  As the president of Emerge180, I am concerned at the perception of our company after reading several posts.  You are correct - we are not a law firm.  However, we are able to negotiate out of court settlements for our clients on a regular basis.  When attorney representation is required, we provide a referral to our clients.  However, we need to clear in our communication whether it is in conversation or on a voicemail.

Well these people are still at it.  Yesterday, the first day back in the new year, a call came in from someone identifying herself as Janet.  The call back number was 813-280-0525 (same area code as previously used) and when I called back the lady said she was calling about a lawsuit filed against my company.  She couldn't pronounce the name of the county where our headquarters are located but she had an old address for the company.  The supposed plaintiff turned out to be an operation half way across the country from us, a company we had never heard of.  I immediately got suspicious and started asking for more detail and the lady got nervous and said she needed to re-check some information and would call back later.  So far I've heard nothing more.  Obviously this Emerge-180 uses this ploy to start conversations.  If a company can't offer legitimate reasons for making contact there should be serious concern about their integrity.

We just had the same type of call at our business.   A Jason Blankey (Emerge 180) just called about referencing a  lawsuit and judgement entered against us (which doesn't exist) , stating that 84 lumber was the plaintiff.   Total scam.    I asked him what exactly he wanted and he said it was just a friendly call to distressed companies to help us with an out of court settlement.     Seriously.

no this IS a bull crap company they called my office left a message that we had a judgement and claim that they would help reduce the debt or we need to come to some arangement to settle it.. We are an AAA+ company have NEVER EVER been in collections or even bounced a check we are flawless and this company is a scam !!  PERIOD !

Matt you are misinformed.  We do not sell debt solution we settle corperate debt if we are calling a business we are not going to tell someone who answers phone that the company owner has a judment for $40,000 so that is why we only give certain information. I hope this clears up you in correct thought process.

Got a message on voice mail this morning 11/5/2010 regarding a lawsuit that has been filed. Reference No 1181105. I called back and got "Jeff's" voice mail, He emphised that I leave my name, business name,telephone number and reference number.

I left my name and telephone number saying since you called my you have mt business name and reference number.  Clearly a scam.  I do not expect to hear back from them.

Got the same "type" of call. In response to "Darren", it's bad form to respond to someone and not use spell check! :) You are a rep for a company, it's company image your projecting. Just saying..........

The call itself is a total scam.  They try to get to the person in charge by saying it is regarding a lawsuit.  This makes it seem important, and less like a telemarketer.  They even give you a refernce number to sound like a case number.  The lawsuit will have nothing to do with you, then they try to sell you on debt solution services.  Their business may be legit, but there telemarketing calls are disingenuous.

Not sure if I had the correct number or not I place 200 calles to potential clients a day if you have any questions please call me 813-341-0526 I can assure you we are not a scam we handle corperate debt so unless you know what you are saying stay silent

The gentlemen who called from this number was inquiring about a lawsuit, to which I had heard nothing about prior to his call. He was not representing the person claiming to sue.

We had a bad connection on the phone, he said he would call back, oddly enough he didn't.

I believe it could have been a scam.
