maryland contractor, please think carefully before trying for settlement. Be aware creditors have *no* legal obligation to deal with settlement firms. Creditors have to deal with your attorney by law but not with settlement firms. The risk you run is your creditor will refuse to work with your settlement firm and send your debt to collections or to court anyway. The settlement firm will keep collecting its fees from your escrow account while your debt continues to grow from accruing interest and late fees. I suggest you consult an attorney re. your financial condition. There's something called fiduciary duty that your attorney has to meet. Whatever advice your attorney gives you has to benefit you and you alone. Beware a settlement firm has no fiduciary duty to you. Your settlement firm can legally give you advice that maximizes profits for the firm.

I may be wrong in my initial appraisal of your services but you accept an apology that I have not offered nor will I ever given your arrogant demeanor. Arrogance is an undesireable quality at the negotiating table where diplomacy is key. You're only revealing your liability to your clients.
Your explanation of settlement is wanting; I found a better one elsewhere. And I would call a company that obtains out-of-court settlements a law firm, not a settlement firm, but you're not a lawyer, are you? It's a reach for a non-lawyer settlement firm to claim it gets out-of-court settlements; perhaps you should tone down your rhetoric. If you were a law firm, creditors would have to deal with you but since you're not, the law allows creditors to completely ignore you. Do your clients understand that their creditors have no legal obligation to deal with you at all?

A BK has its place but not everyone can qualify for a total liquidation.  Am I correct?  Also not everyone should claim a BK. Right?  Every case is different

No we settle not collect.  Since you are not versed in English.  I will explain.  A collector collects debt.  A settlement firm settles debt.  If you had a business and had a lawsuit or judgmnet against your company and I/we obtained an out of court settlement and saved your company lets say 20,000 I would be a sttlement firm...see the difference. One company collects past debts.  We settle them out of court we work for the defendant. Clearer picture now. I accept your apology.

I guess that make sense.  Just to let you know I do apologize if I annoyed you.  There was not any hidden motive in my call other than to get to the correct person in order to discuss a delicate issue.  My company has been around since 1993 we have an A+  with the BBB our owner is one of the finest men you would ever meet. I am very aware of the scam artist out there.  I can assure you we are not one of them.  So I will learn from your comments and be more cautious in the future good luck.

"I am also willing to place my name on the post.  What fishy is someone who does not!" only reveals your poor (fishy?) grasp of logic. 800notes is an anonymous public forum; therefore, all names should be treated as anonymous. You can be the real Darren Muley or Condy Rice posing as "Darren Muley." At least with a name like "anonymous," I'm making it clear that I'm posting anonymously so as not to mislead gullible people who may think poster "Santa Claus" is the real Santa Claus. I assure you "Darren Muley" is as anonymous as "anonymous." Aren't you glad you've posted anonymously? Saved you some embarrassment, didn't it?

Well, if you call without announcing your company name and nature of business from the get go, the natural question is what are you trying to hide? What is fishy is if you won't announce who you are --- if you don't, then that's fishy! If callees hang up on you, it's because you are someone callees do not care to speak to or conduct business with.

"we settle corperate debt" means Emerge180 collects business debts which makes Emerge180 a debt collector. "we do not collect debt" are weasel words.

Annoyed,

Ok for the record I/we do not explain the nature of our call to anyone who answers the phone because it is of a sensitive nature.  If it is a lawsuit or judgment I am quite sure the owner does not want me discussing the issue with someone who has the responsibilities of answering the phone.  It is a privacy issue period.  So please before you make any accusations get your facts straight.

I am also willing to place my name on the post.  What fishy is someone who does not!

If you care to discuss this further my number just so you have it handy is 813-341-0513.

Mr.Muley,
Anyone that calls and just hangs up on someone clearly knows he is fishy. In this day and age someone calling another and asking questions without telling theperson why they are calling is creepy.  You are calling the people it should be you telling themwho you are before they should have to answer any of your questions. For all people know you are trying to get personal info for identity theft. Now you have a bad rep for treating people poorly and hanging up on them. Why would anyone want to use your service.

Well if you answer the phone like it is a residence and I am looking for a business the natural question would be is this a business...most of the time in my line of  (corperate settlements) the company is is running from people the owe money to...what is fishy is if a question is asked like is this a business and you do not answer the question that is fishy!!! If I hung up it was because you were not someone I cared to speak with or conduct business with.
