The name is Legal Investigation! They call back again, but this time it's a supervisor. Sometimes they call and try to talk, and sometimes they don't say anything at all. I hope you all will catch them soon because i am sick of them!

I been getting this number calling everyday, I just wouldn't answer thinking it's a school because I just enrolled into one. Once I answered it, some man can't speak english, threatening me about some cash advance loan from somewhere which I never did pay,  I told him, you have lost your mind! I don't have the slightest clue of what you're talking. He said the Sheriff was coming to my house or job with a warrant for my arrest! About time I started to scream at him, he hung up! Every time I try to call back, he won't answer! To bad he wasn't able to tell me that crap face to face!

I missed a call from them, then they called my work like 3 times and I answered and just hung up. Then I went outside and called back this same lady answered and I immediately asked what company this was for and she was like stop interrupting me. then she said the same of a company I havent heard of. So I said thats a lie dont have any account with them and she just said shut up and hung up. I called back, she answers again and shes like I'm sending the sheriff 30-45 minutes. I got these calls about 2 months ago then they stopped.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I just received a call at my office from this phone number and it is a complete scam. They said the same thing "your name and social security are being investigated" I have received at least five calls at my home number as well. I hung up and called the number back. I ask several questions. They hung up on me. I called back again and they same thing happened. I ask several questions with no answer in return then a hang up.  I hope the police or feds shut this scam down quickly.  This is getting irritating.

Call back immediate else they'll take it as trying to flee from debt. No mention as to whom this debt was supposedly owed, pause before saying what state name, county, obviously reading from a script and fill in the digital blanks.

Yes they are scammers, I was interrupted while typing by getting yet another call from them.  The first message was do not ignore the call, I was not clear.  So, I am either going to jail or they are a scam.  I want to see the money in my account, sure could have used it.  When pressed with questions they hang up on us.

I was told to send 267 dollars to prevent legal action and being arrested for non payment of an alleged 300 dollar loan.   Do not ignore the call.  They hung up on me when I asked where they were at.  Threats of  being arrested and legal fees amounting in the thousands of dollars.
