my computer and bag were stolen, I received a call w/ photo attachments I was  unable to open w/ in hours of posting an ad in the Portland OR Craigslist, I immediately answered the call by text and voice call which responded as a non working #. How can we bust these jerks?

That's guys for the info. I just got the same thing. My cat has been missing for over a week now and this person just did this too me. What an A$$. Got my hopes up that someone might of found my baby.

Got a text wanting to trade with a link to a picture site that makes you download a virus.

Actually I think this is the "open the supposed photo link that's really a virus" scam, but either way it's disgusting predators preying on people in the CL lost and found ads.

Based on the other posts in this thread I think you posted about your lost kitten on Craigs List or some other social media.  Someone texted you that they found him.  I suspect the text is a scam, extortion.  They will claim they have your kitten and charge you to get him back.  They'll take your money even though they don't have your kitten.

I did too. Sent it to my computer because I couldn't open it. And I did have a bike stolen. Let's just say my computer is messed up.

My post ref found dog on craigs list & they wanted me to open a link to a photo. Reply msg had no info about the dog so I did think it was something to be leary of.

My post was about a found chicken. They had a link to a photo..didn't open, as I looked up the number, and it's from a telemarketer.

text from this number in response to a craigslist wanted ad I posted. This is probably just a bot and definitely bad software, etc at the other end of any link it's providing.

Supposed response to an ad on craigslist. Sent me a suspicious text with an attachment to download.  I didn't.  

look like a bad one I placed a craigslist add and he sent me pictures needing a download this is malicious software  I called the number and it is a "out of service" number

Received a text with photo attachment asking about a bike I had for sale in an ad. I have no ad for a bike for sale. I didn't open the photo attachment.

I highly suggest not opening any file attachment from someone you do not know.

Call is from a Florida number. I live 3000 miles away.
