If you are getting calls from this number simply pick up the phone and ask them to put you on the do not call list. Ignoring the calls will only make it look like to them that you are too busy to answer at that time so they call up to 15 times in a few weeks. The ratings are done 4 times a year and if you live in an area where not a lot of people get selected they will keep calling. Nielsen is a research company and the national do not call list is only for telemarketers. Nielsen does not try to harass you, they are allowed to call that many times. Trust me the people at Nielsen do not mean to upset you or interrupt your household they are simply trying to gather your option on TV. And remember the people that call your home are REAL people just trying to do research and just trying to do their job... They don't make the rules and they don't even dial your number.. It is an autodialer on a computer so next time you pick up the phone and think about being rude to them by blowing an air horn in their ear or cursing them out think about if someone treated you in that way for just doing your job. So like I said before just simply ask them to put you on the do not call list if you want them to stop calling.. Ignoring their calls will not make them go away. If you are getting calls where you are picking up and someone is hanging up on you 2 to 3 times a week I'm sure that is a scam and is not Nielsen. And Nielsen does not leave answering machines most of the time so don't bother waiting for one.

Dies anyone know a site where I can find a location of this place?! A friend went to start her first day of work and has not cane home and is not answering any phone calls or messages and the family is very worried!!! Plz any info will be greatly appreciated!

Nielsen Ratings responds very quickly to the BBB complaints. We are hopefully removed from their list - they "put our number on their DNC spreadsheet".  I found a very important information complaining to the BBB and receiving and info from the Nielsen Ratings. They have our number on file since we canceled Direct TV and started bugging us right after we canceled the DishNetwork. THIS CONFIRMS my suspicion if you cancel a satellite service, you become their victim.

They call me 3-4 times a day, 9pm-8am-5pm, I filled a complaint many time with DO-NOT-CALL.COM we will see what happens , so far it's been a month and these one of a kind don't give up bothering citizens.

These people keep calling my house every night after 8pm CST and I find missed calls from them during the day.  I've talked to them twice and told them not to call me anymore.  I have no interest in any survey or anyone who I don't know calling me constantly after I have already told them I'm not interested.  

They have called my number 15 times since April 1st. I have been on the no call list since last October 2013,

They call every single day at a different times each time for almost two weeks now. VERY ANOYING. I did not ask to be "lucky to be a part of some survey" I did not give you my name, address and especially not phone number. HOW did you get it when it is not published for over 20 years? You are violating my private rights and you were just reported to the FTC!

Only one thing I know I did couple of weeks ago, that most likely triggered these so called survey call: I finally canceled my DishNetwork service after being with them for over 7 years and no loyal customer discounts. Instead of that they raised their price up each month by $5 or $10. So I canceled and said the truth, too pricey, nothing to watch anymore, even though I was paying $110/month for their stripped down local TV broadcast. Just get an antenna if you can and you will see what the satellite companies are doing, not speaking about the 480 resolution instead of the 1080 or 720 broadcasted resolution.

I too considered after receiving a post card and then calls...is this legit? I ask myself why these great phisher's of men, would want a small fish like me. So, I threw out my net, on Google of course. Another great phisher by the way, like facebook, and .... so many, many others, and caught some information all the loyal TV families need to know. Maybe The Nielson TV Ratings Company, once cared about what type of decent shows families are watching. Including all the ideals of why that is still worthy of admiration. However, they are a Company for profit...follow the money! Their business is to gather your likes, and dislikes, what shows, what people, and when you're tuned in. They've got the real solutions to help your business grow =/ .... Unfortunate so many companies fall through the loop hole of Surveyors, and have for years. Got this phone # before calling me but I did not answer.

I have been getting calls from them ever since I got a home phone. I never answer these calls. It rings about 3 times and goes to voice mail and sometimes they leave a very short message something I can't understand.

I actually contacted Comcast and requested they be blocked from calling me in the future... so we will see if this works.

This number is a Nielsen rating number, and a legitimate one. They wanted to send me a tv survey in the mail. I let them, and it came with $30 cash in return.  No harm in ppl who call from this number whatsoever.

This number DOES belong to Nielsen Ratings. Our family has been a "Nielsen Family" for over 11 years. They give small monetary rewards for the surveys - usually between $5-10 depending on the number of questions. I guarantee you if you answer and tell them you don't want to be contacted any further - They WILL stop calling. There are people on waiting lists trying to become active in the Nielsen ratings. If you are being called it's because someone in your household either participated in a survey on-line, in a grocery store, with or at your cable company or in a fast food restaurant. They don't make "computer calls" or use automatic dialers. They have received your info from a reliable source. I honestly don't understand so much hostility over a phone call? But maybe some people just go through life being angry about small things. Being a 2x cancer survivor maybe I have a different outlook on what's important in life and don't let an unwanted call upset my fruit cart. Different strokes....... I know we enjoy being a Nielsen family and were rewarded last year with a Stainless Steel LG front loading Washer/Dryer Machine valued at $2,400.00! NOT a Washing Machine AND a separate Dryer - It's 1 machine that washes AND drys. Through the years we have chosen (from a points based catalog we get annually) cameras, jewelry, household goods, a golf bag, a Calloway "Big Bertha" Driver (a type of golf club), and a $2,800.00 voucher and over $500.00 in discount coupons for a Disney World vacation. We spent a total of $146.00 out of pocket for 4 people at Disney's Grand Floridian Hotel for 5 days! And, the majority of the $146.00......were tips to Waitresses, Valets, etc! So, trust me! Nielsen doesn't want to bother you or waste their own time. There TRUELY are people on waiting lists to be contacted. All you have to do is take 30 seconds to answer your phone and say "I don't wish to participate or be contacted again in the future" Your name will be removed from their contact list and some other lucky person will be elated to get the opportunity to participate!
