The company is ACS Affidavit Consolidation Service
Said her name was Charlie Brown and that my social security number was at risk!?!?
That is being sued for a payday loan that was never repaid  WTF  I have never taken out a payday loan.  When I told her/him that I didn't take a loan, they told me I was a fraud by borrowing money and not paying it back.  I was told again that I would be sued, I told them to go for it, that I was on social security disability and they couldn't get my check and that my money went to pay for my cancer treatment.  She said "oh you have cancer, good that was my payback for stealing from their company".
So everyday this past week I have called her to tell her that I wasn't going to pay and when may expect this lawsuit to be filed?  She says nothing in return just sits there and finally hangs up.  Well I do draw SSDI and have cancer and get quite bored some days so guess I will call all next week as well.

I have been recently getting the same phone calls from someone saying that they were from the legal department from the state of Maryland and that I owed some cash advance company. They say they have 3 law suits against me. They have my SS# and my work number. One good thing they did was asked me to have my lawyers call them. Indeed I will. I have never borrowed from this patday loan company before, and if I owed them money, they could have already taken it out of my checking account each pay day. Isn't that they way they work?
I am going to report this to The Consumer Affairs Office from my state and to my Attorney.

My brother got a call from this 813-388-4157 number stating that they needed me to call them because of a payday loan from Advance Payday USA or something like that.  Gave me the last 4 digits of my social security #; my brothers name and that I owed 690 on a 350 loan.  I told them to send me the information which they said they couldn't.  I asked for the company's telephone number which is 516-717-1627 and got the same type voice (heavy indian accent) on the line.  I had this happen before and supposedly there was a case # which was bogus.  When I called the court it was suppose to be at, there was no such # and no such information.  How can we stop this other than I will never apply for a payday loan again on line and if I can change my social security #, i will.  I'm calling them back and let them know if they cannot send me information in the mail then do whatever they think they can.

Yeah, these people are at it again (or never stopped?). Just don't answer when u see "Unknown" come up on your phone.  Screen your calls.  The best way to stop them is just to not engage in any way with them.  Just ignore them.  They'll eventually go away.

i received a call (and this is many many calls later after the first one)some nasty guy with a very thick and heavy accent called said he was from acs (???? whatever it is).  leaving threatening messages on my cell phone and my work number.  when i returned his call i told him that i don't know what he is talking about, and that after researching the company i was advised they were a scam and a fraud.  he then got very loud and nasty with me and told me that i could believe what i want, that is my choice but to just WATCH OUT because they will be coming after me.  and then he hung up on me.  OF COURSE I LAUGHED AT THAT.

anyway, i then called back asked why he hung up on me and he stated that it was because of what i said to him, and that he has every right to hang up on me.  funny way of doing business as far as i am concerned.  anyway, since i do work for attorneys, i figured the next call that comes in for me i will put through to my boss and let them take care of it.

OH BY THE WAY, IN THE PAST WHEN I HAVE SPOKEN TO THIS MORON, HE ALSO TOLD ME HE WAS AN ATTORNEY.  HAHA, HE CAN'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH AND I DON'T MEAN THE ACCENT, I MEAN THE GRAMMAR............

WATCH OUT EVERYONE AND FLAG YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT CAN BE GOTTEN.  THESE PEOPLE DON'T STOP.

it wasnt from this number at the time they use several hundred different numbers. i fell victim to these people. they will scare you into believing that you either owe money or you will be arrested blah blah. they will also go after all people that are connected to you call them to harrass them and try to get money from them. also they still call after 2 years now they continue to call. i have hidden myself from them but im sure its a matter of time b4 they track me down. you cant have a bank account anymore they have full access to all your stuff. and of course our country has no money to go after them. its all apart of those bastards in nigeria i mean come one last name williams and first names like mike chad justin. no such names are in that country. so please dont fall victim like i did. also do not respond to these emails saying that you are owed money or won money or whatever its all part of the same ring of theives. these people will be stopped, if i have my say that is....

Receive a call from them today, didn't answer because didn't know number. The first few voicemails were just people talking in the backgroud. Finally the last voicemail the so called "Mark Williams" had a very heavy accent. Told me a charge was being put against my social. Said if I didn't call back today would be sent to headquarters and I would be in huge trouble. That they would send and investagation team out to my work to pick me up. Called back as to speak with manager. He was just a unhelpful. Told me I owe money to Cash Advance U.S.A which I never remembered doing a loan with. Told them that there was a number to call to speak with my Attorney. Refused to call and told me that I had two choices. 1 file a case and take the chance and court and could have 25points against my social and pay up to 3000dollars or 2 pay the amount owed and no points against my social. I told them I would contact my attorney to get in touch with them. Told me bye and hung up. I called my attorney and they are going to contact them in seven days, and said that creditors will say anythiang to get payment, and that they could not see anything like this on my credit report. I am not sure what is going but I hope my attorney will deal with it and finish it. Rude Rude Rude

I received a blocked call from this man with a heavy accent. He stated that I had 3 cases against me for something. I could barely understand what he was saying. I hung up on him & he called right back. I asked to speak to someone that I could understand, he pretended to give the phone to someone else & came back to the phone. He actually stated my ss#, then asked me if it was correct. I told him I didnt know & if I owed money then I shouldn't have to verify anything. They should know who they're calling. When I told him to send the info in the mail. He became rather irate. Then I found out that he called my brother today & left a message on his cell phone stating that I made some illegal foreign transactions & used his info illegally. They left the number (813)-388-4157 as the call back number. I tried to call back myself & of course, I was unsuccessful. This is crazy!!

When I told the woman that it was illegal to call me at my job she called me a "b***h" and told me that I need to bang my head against the wall and die. I told her dumb a** that she was being recorded and she hung up on me.... I hope that they get caught because I'm doing everything in my power to track them down. I discovered that they are calling from a trac-fone. So the numbers can not be traced.. just in case them dumb f***s are reading this.... I received a phone call from this cell phone number stating that I am being sued for a Cash Advance USA payday loan. I have never had a payday loan through this company, and do not owe any money to them.  They told me they were sueing me for $300 if I did not pay them.  When I asked them to send me evidence that I owe them money, they said they did not do that.  I am reporting this as a scam.

I just got a call from this company, and spoke with Lisa Johnson. First off, she called me at work on my work phone. She called and harrassed me for 25 minutes, making me really upset and shaking and taking more time out of my busy day to calm down and get this all taken care of. She said that if I do not make my last payment, which I told them that I had some emergencies that came up, like saving my house from forclosure, and she said " that is not my freakin problem. you should have made sure you had the money for this account and done something else with your house". I than put her on hold and went in to another room, since I work the front desk, and had a coworker, who new more about these laws, listen in. After knowing that I had someone listening in on the phone call, her tone did get a little better, but the attitude was still oozing. She than after hearing my coworker, she was more willing to work with me. I have the name of her supervisor, like that is going to help with anything. I keep telling her that she can call and harrasse me at work and she said "don't tell me about the law, I know the law and you are in trouble and I will make sure that you loose your job and that my husband will go to jail and that he will loose his job too!" If you don't have to work with company, don't. They are just a**holes.

they called me stating that I was listed as a primary contact and guarantor on a relatives loan, then then went on to say that it was a fruadulent loan and that if i did not put my relative in contact with them that we would could both get in trouble. after providing me with a case number i ended the call. when i called back to speak with him in an attempt to find out what personal information of mine they were in possesion of they told me that they did not see my last name in the system. I told them thats ok with me i just want to talk to the richard wilson that gave me the case number. I was then told that its was ok with her to and she would not be giving out any information to me. Ill call back tommorow and see what more i can get outta them. the privacy and personal information act 1998 clearly state they must be transparent about what information of your they have and why they are storing it. i hope to have more soon.

Prank Call
Okay folks ... these calls are a SCAM.  You have apparently gone on-line and applied for something (usually a Pay Day type loan).  The web site is NOT a Pay Day Loan ... it is a group of foreigners trying to get you to send them money by threatening you.  They have set up a web site that LOOKS like a legitimate Pay Day Loan type business - it is not legitimate - it is people in a foreign country working in a call center designed to SCAM you out of your money.  It is all B.S.  When you applied you gave them all your information (name, address, dob/soc, work phone...etc) and now they want to convince you that you owe them money.  DO NOT SEND THEM A DIME.  Call your local law enforcment and demand a police report be taken.  Call your local FBI and demand they do something about this SCAM (http://www.fbi.gov/contact/fo/fo.htm).

I would advise that you tell the caller, "I will not sent you money today, tomorrow, next week, next year or EVER .... so stop calling me.  You are just wasting your time and mine."  When they understand that you are not going to fall for their SCAM, they will hopefully stop harassing you.

Just received several harassing calls from a place called ACS threatening me with statements like "wait and see what happens to you" from a guy with a heavy foreign accent and a name of Scott Nicholson.  He said that I have warrants issued for my arrest and that we need to settle this now.  I asked what was this about and he told me I took out a payday loan on line from a Cash Advance USA company and gave me my address and e-mail information.  I told him I didn't ever take out an internet cash advance and that I'd like the phone number to the supposed creditor.  He told me he didn't have to give that to me and that he wanted me to "pay up now or else there will be serious consequence".  I asked for his number 813-708-1726 and I called it back and asked questions again.  He told me to have my attorney contact him immediately or "see what happens to you".  I told him I would conference him in with our local police department and he hung up.

Consumer Alert: Attorney General warns Kansans of debt collection scam

January 29, 2010 -- Attorney General Steve Six is cautioning Kansas consumers about telephone calls from apparent fake debt collectors who are impersonating law enforcement officers in an effort to extort money from consumers.   Consumers are warned to not submit payments to these fraudulent debt collectors.

When calling, the scammers most often state they are attempting to collect a debt related to an internet payday loan obtained by the consumer, but which the consumer never repaid.  Consumers state they have never obtained such a loan or paid off the loan years ago.  The scam artists have most recently identified themselves as ACS, National Affidavit Processing Department and United Financial Crime Division, but may use additional phony names.  It appears the phone numbers used by the scammers are ?spoofed? numbers, so that the number appearing on a consumer?s caller ID is not the actual number of where the call originated. It appears the calls in question may be originating from outside the United States.

When questioned, the individual calling refuses to disclose the full name or address of the collection agency they claim to represent.  These scammers have been able to provide consumers with identifying information, such as the consumer?s social security number, home address, e-mail address, names of family members and the consumer?s computer IP address.  Since the callers are able to provide valid personal information, consumers may become confused and believe they are being contacted in regard to a legitimate debt.

If the initial debt collection scam is unsuccessful, consumers have been re-contacted months later with the scammers posing as law enforcement officers or officers of the court.  Typically, the consumer is threatened with arrest for fraud or some other fictitious crime unless the consumer agrees to immediately wire money via Western Union.  The fictitious officers strive to frighten and confuse consumers into compliance by using legal sounding terms such as ?We?re filing an affidavit against you? or by stating a lawsuit has been or is in the process of being filed against the consumer.

A hallmark of each scam has been calling consumers repeatedly at their place of employment.  This scam hit home when an employee of the Kansas Attorney General?s Office was repeatedly called both on her cell phone and at work.  Despite the employee?s repeated verbal disputes, the caller refused to provide any identifying information to allow her to send a written dispute. The scammer also continued to call her numerous times a day regarding a payday loan she denied obtaining. Two months later, she was again contacted by telephone by an individual identifying himself as an ?officer?.

?I denied owing the debt and refused to pay without being provided validation of the debt. I was then told, ?If that?s the case, I will have local law enforcement come to your place of business and drag you out kicking and screaming?,? stated the employee.

?It is important for consumers to know their rights under the law,? Attorney General Six said. ?If a consumer is receiving calls from a debt collection company and believe it is a scam, I encourage them to contact our office immediately.?

Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), collectors are required to send consumers a written notice within five days of the initial contact.  The notification should contain  information such as the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed and a statement informing the consumer they have thirty days to contact the debtor in writing to dispute the debt or request validation of the debt. In addition, legitimate debt collectors are prohibited by the FDCPA from making false or misleading representations, such as the consumer has committed a crime, implying nonpayment will result in the consumer?s arrest, or using the threat of violence.

More information is available on the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf.
