I got a call from this company going on and on about my small business being part of this Federal funding catalog. Asked me to answer some quaestions in order to try and qualify to give them $750 or $1595. Yea lucky me. She asked me how many people in my company. i guess I answered wrong because she hung up on me when I said 3 employees total. Who the #$%^& are these people?

Same kind of thing.  "Are you the president of the company?"  I asked who this was me.  "Are you interested in doing business with the federal government?"  I answered, "Maybe, but I'm already looking into it myself.  What can I do for you?"  She thanked me and quickly hung up.
It sounded like a call from a room full of people - almost like a telemarketer's office.  Good grief.

1-813-449-6440 (x5044- Jennifer Robb). The company is GSA 1000, 477 Commerce Blvd, Oldsmar, Fl 34677.  Their website is gsa1000.com.  I don't know if they are a legitimate company.  But, I am certain that small businesses can get information on federal bids/contracts through the Small Business Administration web site.  The SBA is a FEDERAL agency and their web site has a great deal of information to help small businesses.

I work there. The government really only buys off the set aside program. And through the GSA schedule. The bid list is for construction companies. That's the directions purhasing agents and federal buyers are going. I highly reccomend all compaanies that honestly qualify for the GSA schedule should get on it if the want federal work. Only things like job shops mechanics and anything you could customize... If you sell a product YOU CAN GET ON THE GSA. If you don't... Selected services have schedules as well. Call me for realy if you're interested. 727 247 1024 ext 2038 our old number was 813-449-6440. My old extension was 5038. If we weren't really a legitimate hard working company. We've been around for 15 year. And we're the only company doing this to have held the GSA schedule with the government.

I got a call from Gena Gardner telling me to connector her to the company president.  When I asked the company and the reason for her call she said, "Is he there or not!".  (I'm used to these telemarketers that think yelling at the person answering the phone will get them somewhere) Anyway I told her I needed to know the reason for her call and she told me to tell the president that "he WAS going to get a five year government contract!"  Do these people ever actually get anywhere by talking to people like that?  So I told her I'd let him know and she hung up .... what has telemarketing come to?

So I got a call from a Leslie Miller with GSA Preview. She was asking to speak to the President of our company so I immediately halted her and said he was unavailable. At least have the decency to know the actual name of the party you are requesting to speak with!

Anyway, she gave me her info, including her extension x5009. She won't be hearing back from us so she might as well use her time researching the companies she's calling in her sad attempt to lure us into GSA's useless services.

According to their website at http://www.gsapreview.com/gsa.html :

"GSA schedule is an unfunded, long-term contract that lists the prices the federal government has agreed to pay for a product or service provider?s commercial goods and services. There are 62 categories of products and services from which GSA buys; those are known as ?Schedules.? The Schedules apply to three business lines:

Public Buildings Service:

Lease
Construction
Building Services
Security Services

Federal Technology Service:

Telecommunications Services and Equipment
Network Services
Information Technology Solutions

Federal Supply Service:

Office Equipment and Supplies
Paper Products
Scientific Equipment
Paints and Chemicals
Automated Data Processing Equipment and Services (Software, Training and Integration)
Motor Vehicles (cars, trucks, buses, ambulances, etc.)
Furniture (office and household)
Hand Tools and Appliances
Office Furnishings
Services (EEO, Travel and Transportation, Organizational Management, Federal Management, Financial Management, Temporary Clerical Support, Conference Planning, Temporary Professional Support, Health Care Cost Recovery, Asset Management)

A GSA contract can be renewed for three five-year periods, resulting in a 20-year total contract if all the renewal options are executed. While a GSA Schedule is an official federal contract, it is not funded, so if you win a GSA contract it does not mean that you will automatically have products or services to deliver immediately. Funding occurs only when an order is signed by a federal agency."

Calling themselves "GSA Preview" today.  I think they were also called "FEMA TODAY".  If the previous poster is correct that they're also called Countryside Publishing, then let me mention that they have a "D" rating at the Better Business Bureau:
http://www.bbb.org/west-florida/business-revi ... mar-fl-18003320

... which is rather generous.

The voice mail was from a MaryAnn Lyons (813)449-6440 ext 5043.
She did not leave a company name but caller ID said, "VERIFICATIONGRP".
My company info, D&B, TIN, CAGE code etc... is publicly available on the CCR, ORCA & other govt databases. These people are probably trying to verify active phone #s to sell to other telemarketing companies.
Bottom line...Any company representing themselves as providing assistance to do business with the government is just trying to get you to pay for a service that the government themselves (Federal & State)provide FOR FREE!!!

Got a call from this number 813-449-6440 asking if I was the owner.  Wanted to tell me about a federal bid program.  Identified themselves as GSA1000.  The federal government does not employ telemarketers.  Unless a job is sole source or under a certain dollar threshold on a schedule contract, one has to competitively bid for government work.  This "company" is not on the "up and up."

Got a call from a Keith Albert asking to speak with the person who handles the bids for Government jobs. The call sounded fishy so I told them that they weren't available and if I could take a message. He then asked for the owner of the company. I again told him that the owner was not available as well and that I would have to take a message. So he explained that he was calling regarding Federal Government jobs with a 1-year "no bid" program? Ok now I'm confused...no bid??? He left this number (813) 449-6440 ext. 5036

Noted on the caller ID: TAMPA 1-813-449-6440

There is a device connected to the telephone here that cuts them off saying:

"I'm sorry that this number does not accept this type of call.  Please regard this message as your notification to remove this number from your
list.  Thank you."

It is LOUD!  This way there is no interaction with the caller and they get it not to call again.

Robin Cahalane, who identified her company as "GSA1000".  She asked if we were a small business and asked to speak to the owner or president of the company.

The call left my "spidey senses tingling" so I said the owner was not available (true, out of town on vacation).  I asked if I could take a message.  She left a message for the owner or president of our company to call her back at 813-449-6440 x 5031.

When pressed as to what the call was about, she said it was for doing business with government and various federal agencies on a no-bid program.

Googling discovers many people know about them and distrust them.  (I found this page that way)  They have a website http://www.gsa1000.com/

They definately have no idea what they are selling.  All of the questions my boss asked were beyond the powers of the minion's script and she eventually hung up on him.  Hahaha.
This is another scam directed at small business owners.  The millions upon millions of dollars that criminals like this have sucked out of the backbone of the American economy should compel the authorities to be out in force to stop them.
No such luck!

Just received a call from these guys asking if we wanted to make a bid on a federal "no-bid" contract.

When laughed at her, she didn't get it.

"Who makes a bid on a no-bid contract?"

I hung up after that.

Just received a phone call from these folks.  We've received calls from them in the past.  The last time they called, I googled the number and ended up here so when they called this time, I knew it was a scam.  Sorry, but I don't believe the federal government is going to use telemarketers to contact businesses about jobs.
